Apparently this location is closing? Right now they have some really great sales going on. Shoes, boots, camping gear and more. The selection is getting limited since they are closing but they still have quite a bit of good stuff. I would really recommend stopping by to check out their sale before the good stuff is gone.

Purchased a croquet set for $ 32. Opened it up at home to find the mallet heads had all fallen off the sticks. Unfortunately wasn’t able to find the receipt but brought it in anyways to return. Even after 30 days, they were so willing to help — found the same item on the shelf(marked down of course) and said they might only be able to return for the lowest amount. Instead, a manager overheard the discussion and asked the date of purchase, how much and said he’d look in the back on the system computer. 10 minutes later, he came back up with a printed log of the purchase and they gave me full credit back on my card. After all of that, they even apologized for the wait. Good customer service you ask? Excellent! Quality of merchandise, debatable…

39.99 originally and got them knocked down to 24.00. They have sales and not enough room. They’ll take a fair price(cheaper) than the labels suggest.

I’d like to thank Andre at Big 5 in Totem Lake. My son’s soccer shoes we bought there didn’t work out so Andre exchanged his used shoes for fabulous new ones! I was blown away by his kindness and willingness to stand behind their products. I highly recommend this store.:)

Staff is unable or unwilling to assist customers, and hamstrung by an extremely limited selection of low quality products.

I have dealt with them several times. In most cases I need expert advise. I found them to be very knowledgeable and totally helpful. Today I had to return some camping items, because the person I bought them for preferred to use something else. I returned them without a receipt – no problem. I was so pleased I spent the money immediately on something else in the story. One of my favorite places to shop. Charlotte in Kirkland

The first time my mom and I were looking to buy an inversion table for my dad for Father’s day. My mom had clipped a couple for one that was $ 99 and brought it in. The specific one we were looking at was sold out, so the man that was helping us(I think he was a manager) told us he would sell us another one of even greater value for the price that was mentioned in the coupon. We were blown away! Quick service at its best. The second time was the other day and I came in wanted to buy a pair of Roller Skates(channeling my inner child). They didn’t have the pair I wanted in my size so I tried on another pair($ 20) more that worked a lot better and had metal bindings instead of plastic like the other. The fellow that was helping me was also assisting another guest and still managed to bring me the skates to try on quickly as well as ask how they fit. Instead of buying a so-so made pair for $ 20(they were on sale) I bought the sturdier pair for $ 40. Just a note: I grew up coming here for all my swim team suits every year and soccer gear. This place is great but just ask for some assistance as it looks very crowded with product in the store.

Not sure how Big 5 stays in business with places like Sports Authority or REI around. They always have a pretty limited selection as far as sporting goods. They typically have a pretty decent selection of shoes though. The staff doesn’t seem to know a whole lot about what they do or don’t have in the store and have almost no incite as to which of their products would be better suited for what event you are trying to do. For the most part their pricing(Again minus the shoes) don’t really seem to be any better so if you actually want some info on a product or a selection of products to choose from than Sports Authority or REI will probably be a better fit.

This particular Big 5 had staff members who were willing to help, but they were sort of hard to identify in the store and seemed kind of annoyed to be at work… The store itself seemed really dark too and small(is it really that small or did it just feel that way??) and just wasn’t good for shopping. I guess it didn’t help that the item I was looking for wasn’t there. It’s easier to find stuff online than going out nowadays I suppose. Meh. Even other Big 5s seem to have more stock and feel brighter to me. So, I’ve experienced better… might be fine if you’re looking for a very common item and don’t mind dark, confined places though.

All Big 5’s are pretty much the same, right? Little variance in size and products, but a chain is a chain is a chain. I love my mom, and my mom loves sales. so by extension I grew up loving Big5. It’s a pretty regular occurrence in my household for Grandma to show up loaded with boxes of tennis shoes for all the kids. This is the location nearest me tucked into the long-floundering back half of the Totem Lake«Mall». Easy parking and a friendly staff are always found here, along with my mom’s favorite: clearance racks.

I like this place. They always have sales. They don’t have a large selection of women’s wear, lots for men. They have a large variety of sports equipment and outdoorsy things. Staff always friendly and helpful. Close to my house. Cool.

first of all they really need to hire people that know what they are donig and not teenage girls that chew gum at the register and pop f*&%$ing bubbles all day. we went in there to purchase a soccer package for my daughter this is her first year plying so wen eeded to get her fitted forthe shoes and pads i asked if they had someone to measure her foot and to help us in the back and she said that theres a foot measure back there and pointed in the direction, i looked at her and said i dont work here you need to get someone back here to help me. she had an attitude and paged someone over the intercom. the reason we went there inthe first place is becuase they had the shoes soccer ball and pads for 34 buck i asked her wass that deal still going on she said No very rude and began ringing up our items at the end of our total everything with tax was less then 41 bucks and the deal was still gonig on she just didnt know what the heck she was talking about. thfey need to do research before hiring bimbos.
