Best Management

Having worked with Best Management for a few years I had both pleasure of working with some good people and also the pain of experiencing their restructure/​growth into being forgotten and not taken care of. Communication use to be their strong suit but then at some point they became too busy to communicate or respond in a timely fashion. We would constantly go above and beyond as a service provider for several accounts of theirs only to be handed off to a new employee who was working to hire companies that would give him direct kick backs and we were thrown under the bus by this employee making us look bad in the eyes of everyone when in fact it was solely Best Managements issue of a bad hire and not capable of handling expansion and taking care of the elements of their current business. Hopefully I’m the only service provider trying to get payment for past work done but if not I wouldn’t be surprised.

I would give them Negative stars if I could. They are horrible!

As a HOA board member, it has been a pleasure working with our Community Assoc. Manager (Debbie) from Best Management Co. Debbie knows our complex well, and makes a point to get to know the owners as well as tenants. She handles the daily tasks that are required to manage a building thoroughly, and she works well with our building manager to deal with any emergencies. I am grateful to have Debbie supporting our HOA, as I know things will get done appropriately.

As a real estate broker in business for over 15 years, I have had my share of dealing with HOA’s. When researching a complex for a seller or a buyer, it is imperative to receive the information from the management company as quickly as possible. It has become the «norm» for most management companies to not answer their phones, nor return phone calls or emails. My experience working with Best was far different. On the very first attempt to contact Best, they actually answered the phone and had an immediate answer for my question. They were able to provide the needed resale cert for my seller within hours of payment and not the typical 10 days. They had firsthand knowledge about the complex and neighbors commented on their satisfaction of working with Best. They get an A in my book.

I was hoping for good things from them but I was disappointed. They are disorganized and stuck in the 90s as far as computer use goes. Although apparently this is nothing unusual among HOA management companies since if things were too computerized, they make themselves obsolete. They did things that were of questionable legality. They forgot to do important things that cost the HOA money. They are quick to deny responsibility for things that go wrong. And sometimes when they hired one of their «Preferred contractors», the price of the contractor seemed excessively high. The one complement I can say on their behalf, is that they did not attempt to bully the Board meetings as some other management companies have. They let the Board members run the Board meetings.
