Me my granddaughter and her pap made reservations for tiday at 4 o’clock and had a horrible experience. It was $ 23:a person and when we sat down with our plates we noticed the people across from us saying the food was cold and we took one bite of our food and it was cold. I felt a few things and it was cold also. I opened the pork and it was raw. Our waitress came over and we told her things were not cooked throughout and everything was cold. She took our plates told us she was sorry and to have a good night so we got up and proceeded out as my old man was putting our granddaughter in her car seat I noticed a man taking down my license plate # so when Butch got out to ask him what the problem was he said he was calling the cops because we left without paying. Butch said the waitress told us sorry and to have a good evening he then called Butch a liar and said he didn’t believe the waitress said that which we later found out that girl was the man’s daughter. When Butch told the man it was a misunderstanding and he was going back in to pay the man pushed Butch out the door backwards. Well we called the cops cause I didn’t want a warrant or something for my arrest cause I have never been in trouble. Well the man told the cops he put his hands on Butch so Butch could of had him arrested and he could of had us arrested so the guy told the cops that we didn’t have to pay that he just didn’t want us back and the only reason he left the bill go was he could have been arrested too. What a messed up world we live in. People think they can just put there hands on u and it be ok and believe me when I say these people were looking bad at us as soon as we got thru the door. I know and Butch knows that if we wouldn’t have reserved our reservations under the Daft name none of this would have happened. It has been like that as long as I can remember and Mr and him have been together for 23 years as soon as someone hears the name it goes 2 ways really good or really bad. Makes me sick me and him have always been good and has stayed out of trouble. We had our precious little granddaughter with us. It was valentine’s dinner for God sake. That mad had us sitting out in a parking lot in the freezing cold with her. They were awful people and almost 4 star establishment lol. Yea right there ceiling was falling in. Everything was dirty and the service was aful. Unfriendliest people I have ever been around. I think it was the last name because there is no way they could treat everyone like that and still be in business. ALL I CANSAYISWOWWHATANEXPERIENCE… NEVERAGAIN. THATWAS A FIRSTAND A LAST. Anyhow if anyone wants to try some good food and be around some good people check out prime time in Reedsville. Went there after wares cause we were staving.

Run. Very fast. Away from this place. I arrived and was met by a guy who I later found out was the owner, although he never introduced himself. I carried my bag up the front stairs to the longest, creepiest hallway to the last room on the left. I used the key, yes a real key, to open the flimsy door. I turned to latch the security latch — which wasn’t there. I walked into a room just big enough for a double bed. At the end of the bed was a stand alone heater/cooler that had flexible tubing running out the wall. I had to sidle between the bed and the unit to get to the window to shut the blind — which did not work. I tried my best to shut the drapes, which was difficult due to the fact they were barely on the rod. The sink was in the tiny bedroom, just two convenient feet from the bed. Above it was a fabulous Hollywood style row of lights. As I prepared for bed, I discovered two things — the bedside lamp could only be turned on or off by actually unplugging it from the wall, and my head was lower than my feet when I lay on the bed. I only got about 3 hours of very light sleep because I kept waiting for Jack Nicholson to burst through the door. I packed up in the morning and left. When I informed the guy I was canceling the rest of my stay, he never even asked why, or offered to change something to entice me to stay. In fact, he didn’t know how to print off the receipt showing only one night stay. Whoever gave this place high marks must have been smoking crack. I wish I could give this sketchy place a negative rating.

There are some nice things about this place, but the room was not one of them. Nor was the reception exactly overwhelming. The owner was unpacking stuff but responded to our ringing the bell, about which time we spotted our key and a note for us with a room number. We got no introduction to the facilities, just had the stairway pointed out. The owner seems a nice guy, who wanted to be helpful, he just didn’t seem to know how to do that. He volunteered that he had lots of local maps, but didn’t say where, and didn’t deliver them. Turned out there’s a continental breakfast and as we walked to our room we spotted a sign that said it would be in there. Next morning there was some cold coffee in a cold pot, and a few boxes of cereal, milk etc. Not very satisfactory, no one on hand, just a silent cold pot of coffee, half empty. The room was neat enough, but odd. It had 2 small bathooms, a double bed and a king bed, neither one really comfortable. There was no room left in the room for anything else. There were no functional windows. One side, our side, of the building has an outside deck and folks out there could stare into our room if we were to open the curtains. So it was either no privacy, or not view out the window. We asked a waitress in the empty dining room if breakfast would be served the next day. She didn’t know, didn’t volunteer to find out. So we went elsewhere(see review of the Great 8 diner). All in all, don’t believe the hyped comments about this place.

Located in Kingwood West Virginia, the Preston County Inn was constructed in the Civil War era by James A. Brown, an attorney and a graduate of West Virginia University. However most of the modern guest’s rooms were added in 1948 as a newer addition to the inn. Also included in the addition were the large kitchen and dining rooms. I came here with my family and we had a few rooms on the second floor. The rooms and their amenities differed drastically. Some were close to what you might expect to see in a San Francisco boutique hotel while others were, well lacking. A definite plus, the free wifi was wide open and quite fast. The restaurant located here is reasonably priced(actually really cheap by California standards) and serves up some exceptional steaks, garlic mushroom dishes and crab cake plates. They also have a small bar which is quite cute but limited as to alcohol choices. There was a tap when we were here but it wasn’t operational. The hours also left a lot to be desired as they closed around 9pm on saturday. Other highlights include the free family movies on the front lawn. They have a pretty decent sized outdoor projector setup and the event is a BYOB of sorts. Overall I felt like the owners are really trying to make this a happening place. But the room I stayed in definitely felt like it was built in 1948. Also this is rural W. VA. and Im sure the amount of occupancy traffic has a lot to do with their hours so it’s kind of hard to hold that against them. For those that like to lounge around with a book, I could really see people enjoying their reading room which is attached to their bar. Im sure it would be even more enjoyable if they had some craft beers and an operational draft.

This is the best kept secret within driving distance of Pittsburg, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and other metropolitan areas! It has been owned for 4 years by a man and his wife who have turned it into a gourmet restaurant par excellance! He is a trained chef from the International Culinary Arts Institute! EVERY meal is exceptional. Salad bar is beyond exceptional at $ 6.95 all you can eat… crabmeat seafood salad, tuna, etc. Fresh bread at every meal. Homemade soups to die for. The Onion soup is better than Le Peed du Couchon, in Paris France! Chicken Dijon was unsurpassed! Seafood pasta with over a half dozen shrimp, crabmead, fish, etc. Pasta dishes galore! Fresh baked salmon, Australian bass, and haddock from Iceland! No dishes over $ 16.95 including the salad bar! This is worth the trip just for the food. 4 single rooms and 4 suites at the B&B are reasonably priced and include a continental breakfast. Sunday brunch is $ 10,95 and is as good as any I have had. Full bar with Marillyn Monroe and music ti match! Outdoor patio during good weather is a must to kick back and forget about the world. If you want to hide and aren’t looking for an overpriced B&B, this is the place. Less than a half hour from Morganton and a bit more to Pittsburg and the outlets.
