Had a wonderful experience at Tranquility! I went with 4 friends and they were able to take care of us all together. The staff were helpful and did a wonderful job! If we lived nearby I would definitely go back!

0 stars… Crooks! This place is awful!!! They tried to charge me $ 15 extra dollars for my 4 year old daughter to get 3 colors on her nails. Each nail is a different color not even a flower or a gem. It’s not that hard to do. Are you joking me!!! What a joke and cash only. Very rude. I come to relax and spend time with my kids and now I’m anything but relaxed. Never ever coming back.

Now, I wish I had come here first because I see I am not the only one who had a terrible experience. I also went to the Poughkeepsie Galleria location. First of all, so you know, I am not a picky customer. I am generally pretty patient and do not write someone a bad review based on little things. .. .unless they pile up. I do not get my nails done often and so was quite looking forward to treating myself. When I arrived, the technician greeted me by shouting across the room in a busy salon, while with another customer, «What service you want?» I know this in itself is not unusual for this type of business, but it sets my teeth on edge, nevertheless, so it was not a good beginning. I told her I was interested in a pedicure and she had another tech seat me. No sooner was I seated with my feet soaking, than the tech told me she needed 5 minutes to eat lunch. She left me sitting with my feet soaking, until the water began to get cold, considerably longer than 5 minutes. While she was doing my treatment, she chatted to the tech next to her. I do not know what she was saying, but her tone of voice was clearly a complaining one. She seemed in a hurry, the whole time which made it hard for me to relax. At one point during the treatment, the basin overflowed. She had to literally bail it out with a small bucket while I once again waited. I had decided on the callous treatment which supposedly takes the hard, dry skin, off your heels(and anywhere else on the bottom of your foot). It did not do this. My heels, 3 hours after treatment, are still dry and cracked. The chemicals used also left behind large streaks of black that looked like ink on the lower part of my legs that the tech failed to wash off. This irritated my skin, and I had to scrub very hard to get it off once I was home. The nails on my big toes look jagged where she cut them. The nail polish looked nice enough at the time, and it is O.P. I., i believe, but now, a few hours later, it looks cheap and like it is starting to chip. My feet do not feel good. I am so disappointed. It has been several months since I treated myself to a pedicure. It is something I almost never do, and, now I feel like I spent 30 dollars on nothing. Well, lesson learned. Next time I will visit Unilocal before I throw away my money. Better yet, I will probably just go to Appearance Day Spa, the Salon and Day Spa I have been getting my haircut at since I was 10. Stick with people you know you can trust, right? I would have gone there in the first place if they were not closed on Mondays. Now, I may have to go there to get them to fix the mess made by Tranquility Nail Salon. So discouraging! Highly recommend going anywhere else!

So I’m not sure if all of these nail salons in the mall are connected or something. But I went to the one in the Poughkeepsie Galleria and had an awful experience. The young lady that attended me was more interested in eating. They are very highly over priced for very poor quality. They are friendly ladies, but I will definitely not be returning anytime soon. My nails looked awful, very uneven and oddly shaped. You think they would have came out better with the amount of time I spent there. Then I went to Middletown to see if they could fix it and the young lady there wanted the whole back story and was going to charge me 50 dollars to fix them!!! Like are you kidding me? Apparently the two salons are acquaintance and just wanted more of my money. Funny thing is that I only came here cause I thought they would be understanding and because my sister in law had just came in for a mani pedi for a decent price. They’ll try robbing you if they have the opportunity. I won’t be returning.

Last week I went in there for an eyebrow waxing, and after being led(well…more like pointed halfheartedly) to the back room, I sat in a chair meant for hair washing and waited. And waited. Fifteen minutes later without having a single person come by, make eye contact, I got up to use their bathroom. The bathroom had no soap in it. I finally cornered someone to ask them of soap and was curtly told to use the sink on the outside of the bathroom. Unsettled I used it and returned to my seat cloistered in the back. Ten minutes later I am ready to leave, having had absolutely no one check on me. As I stand up, I watch an employee use the bathroom, flush, and walk out without doing anything in the way of washing hands. No use of the one in the bathroom(by sound) and no use of the sink with soap in the one outside of the bathroom. I walked out without looking back and none of the employees who were standing out there, chatting with one another tried to stop me. I recommend never, EVER giving them your time or money.

This nail salon is dirty, over-priced, and slow. They have a receptionist who you sign in with and then take a seat on their couches. I had to wait even though there were 5 people not doing anything. I had a regular manicure and it took 45 minutes which is unbelievable. The guy was talking the entire time and was barely paying attention to what he did. The nail polish has already all chipped off 2 days later. They don’t carry OPI or Essie; only some cheap, no-name brand. The manicure was also $ 15. Insane. I will never go here again.
