The local spot for good place for bagels. The place is very crowded and their is a reason for that. Standard bagel/deli with the typical New York fare.

To the women in the wheel chair who was screaming at the poor girl behind the counter today… You should be ashamed of yourself! It’s Christmas. Lighten up!

I never understood what the hype was with New York bagels. I lived in the city for 2 years and yes I’ve had some good bagels, but nothing that made me crave one until I came all the way to Kingston and was brought here. Their euro breakfast sandwich on a salt bagel is so delicious. I’m now on this bagel bandwagon.

Simply awesome bagels with great fresh stuff on them. I forgot how good a bagel can be(living outside of New York State) until first bite of a egg, pastrami, and cheese, on a toasted everything bagel.

My quest for the perfect NY bagel has taken me all over the city, Dutchess County, Putnam, Westchester, and even Danbury. In New Jersey where I grew up, there exists the perfect bagel in a small shop in Bergen County where they grow giant, fluffy, flavorful bagels of all kinds. None have compared, not even remotely, until now. Thank you, Sunrise angels, for giving me back the gift of a perfectly fluffy, flavorful, giant bagel!

Awesome spot, been going here forever. Kind of busy in the mornings but that is just because everyone knows it’s quality. Avoid any wait if you’re in a hurry by calling ahead and you will be fine. A great breakfast and lunch stop.

Delicious huge bagel, fresh, just the right amount of bready and crispy. I had tuna on it, it was also just the right amount of mayo. I took off one star as they didn’t have cole slaw. Hubby had bagel sandwich with soup. He said chicken gumbo type soup was delicious, very big bow. He wished he had gotten the ½ sandwich with soup. Large portions, friendly owner. Cool, fun, non-chain bagel store. Clean bathrooms too. Great selection of beverages.

Best bagels I ever had. Look like loaves of bread. I make trips up to Sunrise just to get a couple dozen bagels to put in the freezer. I like my bagels chewy, so I cut them in ½ and freeze, then microwave for like 30 seconds and they are just like fresh baked! Awesome staff, very fast operation, I love this place. I was worried when the previous owners sold out, but the transition was smooth and seamless. Keep up the great work!

My jaw hurts from chewing my way through this gigantic bagel. It felt more like a loaf of bread than a bagel.

As someone that comes from downstate NY, I wasn’t expecting much from bagels outside the City or Long Island. Sadly my expectations were met spot on. I had an everything bagel that had no taste! It was the size of a spare tire and it was doughy. The very worst of it is they did a cardinal sin and diced the bacon into tiny little bacon bits. When I want bagel with bacon I want the beautiful display of bacon strips.

I was home in Kingston for the weekend and being back one of the things that I had to have was a real bagel. My favorite bagels in Kingston are without a doubt from Sunrise. They’re huge and always perfectly cooked. They toast them up perfectly and always load them with cream cheese. If you’re wondering how to tell I’m home for the weekend, just swing past Sunrise on Saturday morning. It’s a guarantee I’ll be there.

Best bagels in Kingston! The only downfall is that there’s limited seating, so on a busy day it’s hard to find a place to sit.

Excellent bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Cons: –Parking lot can be tough to get into and out of, crossing Albany ave at a spot with fast-moving traffic. –Crowded on weekend mornings(but that just means the food is good) –Somewhat disorganized front counter; you place an order and then just stand around waiting(unless you are staying at one of the small tables at the front by the road) which leads to some confusion over where the line is, who is next up, etc. –The bagels are huge; about half the size of an adult human head(I know, that’s a weird size reference) which means you may not be able to fit them in your toaster if you cut them in half and have a 2-slot vertical type toaster. Stop complaining and buy a toaster oven. These bagels are that good! They have ruined me for all other bagels…

My husband and I are from New York(he is from Kingston) and we visit Sunrise bagels every time we are in the area visiting. This last visit I had the salted bagel with pesto cream cheese. Basically plain cream cheese with a big dollop of pesto in the center. So good!!! I’m getting depressed writing this… it’s too far away! Come to Austin, Sunrise!!!

A bacon egg and cheese from this place is a great hangover cure. Bagels are large, but still properly dense. Non bagel items are good too.
