Before my visit today, I thought this place was a great place. It looked fresh and flavorful on the outside; it had been years since I hopped into this place, so we thought we’d try it again. But this current trip was nothing like the last trip in years ago. Yes, the place was clean and upkeep, but the experience«turned South» very quickly. They weren’t loaded in other guests, but speed of service was slow. We were handed the menus and were asked for our drink order. It had been awhile since I drank something from your establishment, so I didn’t realize how drinks were served. Despite the higher price, I love the fact that the drinks were served in a large stein — that was neat and well worth my money there. But when they came to take our food orders, that’s when things went a bit south. Although the other people at the table had no problem when giving the order, when it came to me, I having been in there a long time ago and having to ask for clarification thanks to food allergies and substitutions of applesauce from the fries they pushed and said this substitution isn’t available, a different side of them was brought on. I read my order to them as I asked the question. Having asked and gotten clarification, I hinted that it was okay to leave the fries on instead and to forget I asked the substitution question, the waitress later wrote things down wrong and read it back yet a third way — you could see her jotting the details down differently as she talked). We asked her if she had heard our orders correctly, and she shook us off saying that she heard us right. We trusted the server.(She later told us that she was only at her job for a week, so she should pardon the clarifications).(Ok, I got it.)(You checked, thank you.) Later, when the food came out for five people, we had some issues happen — yet my meal itself wasn’t too badly hurt — though I didn’t understand that they used diced lettuce for a grilled chicken sandwich(the lettuce kept falling off when I took bites out of it). But it didn’t stop there. My grandmother also tagged along. We asked for her beef to be well done. Yeah, it was well done alright. It was *dang* hard as a rock(we could literally tap it on our plate and it sounded rock hard.) and the cooked vegetables, well, let’s just say they were almost mushy. We called over our waitress. After telling and showing her the food’s condition, she blatantly told us about the condition of the cook who was on. The one cook they had on that day was the only cook on, and she told us that the«chef didn’t like her and was trying blatantly to sabotage all of her orders». We got this — yes. She was responsible enough, as she brought over a person from upper-management. We told the manager about the problems we’ve had. After discussing his position with food in the company and verifying that indeed the beef was hard as shouldn’t have come out that way, he rectified the situation and had a brand new meal prepared with him watching over our order personally. But that’s when our server asked if we wanted deserts. I couldn’t face eating desert from their menu. I mean, when I ate, I felt full and wasn’t impressed. From hearing experience of others at the table who did choose to order deserts(as bad as it seemed from the remainder of the order that was second guessed), the deserts were heavenly. Taste was supposedly there. Maybe I should have, but I didn’t want to take the chances of another botched portion of the order. Adding in the cost of the entire meal, it wasn’t very positive. I myself won’t go back, although you need to take this place with a grain of salt.

My steak was cooked incorrectly. My loaded baked potato was under cooked. The help looked slovenly especially the male employees. Our server tried hard and was very nice.

I do not usually go to chain restaurants but have always liked Ruby Tuesday for its salad bar and for nostalgic reasons. It seems like the value and quality of food is superior to other restaurants of this genre. My date and I had the salad bar and split a fried green beans appetizer(good) and burger. Perhaps because I had just been to the Pourhouse in Manhattan(3rd ave location) and terribly disappointed that I was so impressed by the Ruby Tuesday burger. They use actual meat, not like Pourhouse’s bubba-burger style garbage and caca fries. I found myself becoming visibly irate at the very existence of Pourhouse as I reveled in Ruby Tuesday’s glory. The staff at this particular location was also very nice and attentive. I hope this location continues to prosper.

Hostess and waitress were very friendly and welcoming. It was really awesome to see that although they weren’t busy the manager was helping to clean off tables and wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. Food was delicious but took the kitchen quite awhile to get it out which is why I deducted a star.

Not understanding the negative reviews but we did eat during a quiet time. Even so, not being a fan of eating at chain restaurants, this one wasn’t bad at all and we enjoyed our meals! Knowing it’s a chain, we know not to order something such as steaks or crab cakes. It’s never done well for the most part. Stick with burgers, apps and sandwiches and you’ll enjoy it. Driving home from Umass Amherst to NJ, we decided to stop and have a late lunch. I’ve always liked Ruby Tuesday’s salad bar but hadn’t been to one in years. I was impressed. We both got burgers and they were delicious. Very juicy and had enough juice to drip out and burn the corner of my mouth. If you don’t like mayo, make sure to say so because it’s automatically added to the burger along with tomatoes, and pickles. The salad bar is wonderful. My only regret is that they no longer have the thin La Choy type chow mein noodles and have croutons instead. No biggie. Our server was very sweet! The bathrooms were ultra clean. This Ruby’s is on our list to stop while heading to and from UMass, which will be fairly often. BTW, Kingston is a very interesting town and the bridge over the Hudson has great views!

No stars. Service. Was bad, apps. Late, right before main meal came. Food missing from orders. Nothing to snack on while you wait, a long long time for you meal. Up side, ribs were very good. Very skimpy on dipping sauces, really like 2 dunks and gone,. Stop going there because of this before, but we give it another chance there still just as bad. Not even a cheap salad, nothing but ribs two little sides… I guess we’ll try again in another seven months. Maybe??? Ps. No they weren’t busy at all. No excuse! Had to give it one star or they wouldn’t let me post this but it deserves no stars…

I just ordered take out from here. My review is just based on my takeout experience. I just ordered the pasta with chicken and broccoli. I asked if they could give me half a order. I was not really hungry. They have me half a order and charged me full price which is fine because I had requested half a meal. Went in and picked the food up. Overall. If you are headed down 9W and want to stop and get something other than McDonalds call here. It’s right off 9W and the pick up went smooth. I recommend getting pick up from here PROS: — pick up was on time

Came to this restaurant for dinner with my family after a evening shopping trip and while the service was good there was a hair in my food so i would advise all my fellow foodies to carefully inspect ur food before consuming

My girlfriend and I have been to this ruby tuesday a good amount of times, and while the staff is pleasant, the drinks are great, the salad bar is great, the food is really not all that. however, I don’t put the blame on the chefs there, ruby tuesday definetly needs a better menu. For lunch the buffalo or zucchini sliders with the salad bar is a great choice.

We visit Ruby Tuesday’s about once a month. I am addicted to their salad bar! Every time we visit the salad bar is fresh. The croûton’s are out of sight and the balsamic vinagrette salad dressing is to die for. The food is reasonably priced and I’ve never been disappointed.

Usually love my meal but this was a disappointment they were out of the sirloin steak so we had to order a larger one more costly. I ordered the pretzel hamburger we both ordered the salad bar they also had a special on lobster tail I ordered that also. first we had the salad bar very skimpy everything had something init but very little no one came to refill for some time and it needed it not as nice as usual if I took one green my husband had to take a different we. Said nothing. Our dinners came and my lobster tail the tail was so good cooked perfect a joy. My hamburger and fries were cold like they sat waiting for other meal. My husbands looked sloppy with the sauce he wanted on sirloin they were out of he ate ¾ and the rest came home to dogs. You should not be out of steaks people have to order smaller or larger not good business. Will be awhile before I return. Also our dinner came to a lot and not good. I can go to Christine’s and get a better meal for the same price.

I ordered the petite sirloin and lobster tail with French fries and the salad bar. The items in the salad bar were fresh(no wilted greens or mushy cucumber) and offered variety with the selection of vegetables, dressings, and other add ins. I ordered my sirloin medium rare and it arrived well done. I tried a bite to see if I would like it and it was too chewy for me. Once I informed the waiter he apologized and had the kitchen make me another one that was cooked medium rare. The only issue I had with this steak was that there were pools of oil on top of my steak that were not present on the first well done steak. The lobster tail was cooked well(not raw or overcooked) and wasn’t salty(as I had gotten at another Ruby Tuesdays once). The French fries were crispy and not soggy. One other person in my party ordered the bourbon chicken with spaghetti squash and the salad bar and the third person ordered the pretzel burger with spaghetti squash and salad bar. Both people said that they liked their meal. Out waiter offered me a free dessert since the steak wasn’t cooked to my order. I ordered and split the tiramisu with my party. The tiramisu was moist and good, but I think that they soaked the lady fingers in too much or too strong of an alcohol mixture as that was the prevalent taste in the dessert. The marscapone in the tiramisu was fluffy and light. Not the worst tiramisu I’ve had, but definitely not the best by a long shot. Our waiter was attentive and friendly and the restaurant wasn’t too busy when we came for dinner so it wasn’t noisy.

First of all, a bartender should never ask if the«same glass is okay». Second, a bartender should not be texting while there are guests at the bar. Third, a bartender, or any server, should ask to «cash you out because it’s the end of her shift.» Thankfully, her replacement was spot on!

Love the salad bar, and probably should have just stuck to that. steak portions were fine, but evrything tasted salty. even to a person who puts salt on everything!.. a guy at another table was freaking out and being loud about how he waited 20 minutes for a seat. he was looking for a free appetizer or something i spose… only hit rubys once in a blue moon, but I knew what we were in for.

The Ruby Tuesday in Kingston is good for what it is. It is a solid representation of the chain. The restaurant is clean. the food is well cooked, the waitstaff is generally friendly and the salad bar is kept pretty fresh. If you’re looking for a quick meal, somewhere familiar, it’s a safe choice.

Why am I giving a chain restaurant 4 stars? Because there are times you want an easy, pleasant dining experience with your family. And because Ruby Tuesday is SO much better than it’s ‘competition’(Applebees, TGI Fridays, etc.) that it deserves recognition. Should you order a Margarita… no. Should you order food from other cultures… no. Should you order fanciful dishes that depend on interesting spices or a balance of flavors or exceptional cooking technique… AREYOUCRAZY? BUT…they have a wide variety of excellent beers and some acceptable wines. And an amazing salad bar. And they do a pretty good job of cooking a steak and an exceptional job of grilling veggies and baking/mashing/frying potatoes. And the food on their children’s menu is(particularly comparatively) high quality for the price. So keep it simple, sit back, and enjoy a delicious relatively inexpensive dinner. One that you and your whole family will all thoroughly enjoy.

I had to kill some time in kingston so I decided to have lunch at Ruby Tuesday… because I had never eaten there before. I was surprised they don’t have lunch mene whatsoever. I think theyare the only one that doesn’t have lunch special… especially the time like this with a bad economy. But they were saying that they are going to do brunch on weekends on the banner they had up. I ordered Peach and Cream soda and Turkey Avocado burger. The drink was good and not too sweet. The burger was okay… It was more like bland and I was expecting better. The burger was $ 9 and the drink was $ 3. I think they could look over the price for burgers. It comes with endless french fries but I did not even finish my burger at all or the french fries. I think they can stop doing that and instead bring down the price a little more. Especially if you are comparing with other franchised restaurants like Chili’s or TGI friday. Overall it was just an okay experience with okay food.
