I always thought their food was good but after the rebuild/remodel I think it moved up to excellent. Fair pricing for great quality

When my kids asked me were I wanted to go for my birthday, I said Camela’s. I’ve been there a few times before and the food was great as was the service, but NOT this time. My mussels scampy was tastless… no garlic what so ever. I ordered the jumbo shrimp for my meal and it was NOT jumbo shrimp, it was cocktail shrimp. Very small. The crabmeat stuffing had NO crabmeat in it. It was $ 22! The waitress LOST $ 50 cash! She came back to the table and said we was short for the check. That was untrue. And to top it off, when I got home, my take out was the wrong one! I got somebodys left overs!

With a lack of good Italian restaurants in our area, we’ve ordered takeout 4 times now with the hope that it would improve. Unfortunately, each time has been as poor as the last. It seems like they put very little care into how they cook their food, or how they pack their takeout. While it’s bad enough that their red sauce is usually watery, the last 3 times they’ve handed us a takeout bag filled at the bottom with sauce. They also place garlic bread on the top of the containers, which leaves everything covered garlic grease. Bland food and poor presentation is what we’ve come to expect.

We got some pretty Basic meals for takeout a baked ziti and some spaghetti and meatballs, sauce was burnt, portions were small, we expected more since the re-opening. Probably wouldn’t go back, there’s better restaurants near by for a comparable price.

Carmela’s is a great local place. Very friendly staff, very good food and great value. Carmela’s has a lot of red sauce dishes that you know and love and they also have fresh fish and other special Italian dishes. Did I mention value? Prices here are set so you can bring your family. Carmela’s also has half portions for lighter eaters. So you can save $$$. Unfortunately, Carmela’s suffered a fire a few nights ago which shuttered the restaurant. My heart goes out to the management and especially the staff. Carmela’s will have the staff work temporarily in the Tuscan room of Mama Mia’s on the Plymouth waterfront on Tuesday and Thursday. I understand that ownership will rebuild and reopen soon. I wish Carmela’s my very best. Please support this excellent establishment.

I’ve heard so much about this place. Finally decided to give it a try. My dad had the veal cutlet excellent he said the portion was more than he expected. I had the chicken ziti and broccoli and it was excellent. I got the lunch portion and it was more than enough. The bread was nothing like I have ever had before. Will be back

Service was slow, silverware dirty, room was cold. Not a great dining experience tonight.

This restaurant don’t cater to minority’s. They turned me away even in military uniform.

Went to Carmela’s last night for dinner — it was a ride for me being from Quincy but well worth the trip. It was awesome as always. Salad was nice and fresh, the cocktails from the bar were great and the Chicken Marsala was the best ever — the home made fettuccine really enhanced the dish. Service was great and the valet is also extra bonus. I can’t say enough positive things about Carmela’s ! Thanks for such a great restaurant, I will be sure to visit again soon.

Went for a late dinner last night. It was late and not crowded which was nice. Reasonably priced and overall excellent experience. They also offer many items that can be prepared Gluten-free which is great. Started with a specialty martini which was generous and tasty. Eggplant Tower appetizer was good w/one exception — in the height of summer produce they used a non-ripe, tasteless hothouse tomato which was disappointing. My chicken Carmela was delicious and a very generous portion as well as served on homemade fettuccine. The Saltimbocca and Veal Parm were excellent as well. All served with shredded Parmesan on the side which is a nice touch. The service was great — no complaints there at all. A 4.5 rated experience mostly due to serving hothouse tomatoes in the height of fresh produce season.

Went into Carmela’s around 9:30 pm for a quick late night dinner after a day in Boston, the staff was extremely friendly and allowed us to dine even though they closed at 10 pm. Food is fresh and delicious even at such late hours. They stayed open 30 minutes later for our group of 5. They are very flexible in their size of entrees thus prices. If I am ever by Plymouth again we will definitely stop by. Thanks to the staff for being so nice and staying open for us!!!

The food is great, and when you go, ask for Jillian. Excellent understated service that has us wanting to return. The portions are generous and the quality first rate. We started with caprese salad which could have used a little more basil but was yummy. The fresh ciabatta and olive oil and cheese was nice. For entrees, I had the veal Parmesan on homemade fettuccine(highly recommended!) and my friend had Chicken Saltimboca. We both enjoyed our meals very much. We would have given Carmela’s 5 stars except for the hostess. Weird to pan a hostess but she was a stuck up snot. We, as many did on this hot humid Summer night, came in wearing shorts and were immediately and obnoxiously escorted to the bar(hostess Charming, after literally looking me over head to toe, «we are going THIS way!» To the bar. The blessing is that we were served by Jillian, the downside was we spent the first several moments getting over our rude welcome. Go but ignore the hostess’ sour demeanor and park behind Dunkin to avoid the valet,(valet? Really? They know this is Kingston right?) Some goofiness but the food made up for it. We’ll be back, wearing pants. Lol.

I really like this place. Honestly, the food isn’t super spectacular, but it’s good Italian comfort food. The restaurant has a nice feel, casual but not too casual. The prices are extremely reasonable. Portions generous. Service is good. They do a great Chicken Marsala and if you like portobella mushrooms, the Chicken Carmela is very good. We keep coming back.

This place is simply wonderful. They accommodated us, served excellent meals, charged reasonable prices and smiled while they did it. Lasagna is excellent, bread was fresh, vegetable were not canned. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious! I ate it before I thought about taking a picture. I had clam chowder and chicken Alfredo penne with broccoli. I am picky about Italian food, it is my favorite, and this place nails it with the flavor and the kind wait staff! Reasonably priced as well! I’ll definitely come back! :)

It was so busy that I had to call ahead for a reservation. Upon arrival, the friendly hostess showed us to our seat in the dining room. Our friendly waiter promptly took our order and proceeded to the kitchen. The cheeseburger and fries was delicious. The tiramisu was to die for. The delicious homemade bread served as a great appetizer.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and can’t say enough about it! The food was awesome, huge portions and very reasonably priced! Everyone was raving about their dinner. The atmosphere was nice, but relaxed, and the waitresses were sweet. Highly recommend!!!

This place is A MA Z I N G! Related to the Mama Mia’s folks, I believe Carmela’s goes above and beyond any expectations. The wait time can be long, but that is because is because it is very worth it! The homemade noodles and even gluten free menu is awesome, and the bar is no exception either. They have a very professional espresso maker right on the bar which makes the EXPRESSO martini more than legit. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and the portions are an extreme value for the money!!! This place knows Italian food and doesn’t «bland it down» for the general public like so many other places do. They have terrific specials all the time, and even live acoustic entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. Located right off route 3 /exit 9, it is a diamond hiding in plain site! A MUSTTRYFORANYONELOOKINGFOR A GREATNIGHTWITHTERRIFICFOOD!!!
