Bistro on the Ave, what it should be called is A Little Slice of Heaven. Conveniently located in the back corner of my favorite strip mall, B on the A has yet to disappoint. I went with the Chicken in Magic Sauce and followed it up with the chocolate-peanut butter-I-just-came-in-my-pants-pie. My goodness was this a meal for the ages. Try it, you’ll love it, just tell them Chris sent you!

Overall, pleasantly impressed. Bistro was able to accommodate our last minute reservation even though we didn’t need one. The bar is situated directly in the main dining area, so around 8:30pm it was minimally busy with no one else at the bar but myself and my date with the dining room quickly dwindling as guests finished up their meals. Ordered the lobster strudel as an appetizer. The fried phyllo dough surrounding the lobster was perfectly done. The roll itself was just okay for sharing, and I found the least impressive element was the lobster itself. You could tell it was genuine lobster meat but it tasted a bit too much like the ocean. For our entrees I ordered the homemade gnocchi in bolognese which was magic. They sure do know how to make gnocchi taste like little pillows of goodness. My friend had the Greek risotto which she loved and kept raving about. I had a taste and liked the texture of the risotto but if it had been my dinner, I would’ve opted for one the Harvest risotto that had butternut squash and portabella mushrooms. Our bartender made fantastic martinis, especially this frothy, creamy salted caramel one that was more like a dessert than alcoholic beverage. My only real complaint was having to ask our bartender to read us the specials instead of him automatically doing it. If you plan on handwriting your specials, it’s kind of your responsibility as an employee to read and introduce them to your guests instead of scribbling them on a note-card and laying it on the bar. I thought that was strange, especially because I felt like an a-hole asking him to read it out-loud. You’re not a diner, so don’t lay out your specials in your chicken scratch handwriting out on the bar — awkward. But the food speaks volumes and the coziness is very welcoming. Can’t wait to come back here soon and try some more delicious food.

The best bruschetta I have ever had! Desserts, entrees and main dishes are all fantastic. Staff is attentive and friendly. One of my absolute favorite places for dinner. Be weary of dinner walk-ins. It’s best to make a reservation as they are very busy on the weekend.

My family and I have been regulars here for years. Consistent good food. Interesting features. Definitely worth what you’ll spend.

Classy place! I enjoyed the ribeye small plate, though I felt that the veggies served with it had too much curry… took away from the lovely chimichurry sauce on the steak. The chicken francaise was also one of the better versions I’ve had in the valley. Service was pleasant and the atmostphere was quite romantic.

We have dined here many times before and always enjoyed the trendy menu and lighter choices; but last night’s small plate special was a bell ringer. Crab orancini turned out to be an imaginative variation on the standard Sicilian stuffed fried rice ball. Besides crab, the stuffing included peccorinio romano and spinach. The rice was not just rice, but lobster infused risotto. This was complimented by a fine marinara sauce. A wedge lettuce salad on the side, garnished with bacon and bruschetta, drizzled with a peppery ranch, completed an entirely satisfying meal. Skip the mixed drinks and stick to the beer and wine. Practically no one can make an old fashioned any more. Although, most mixologists can put together a credible Manhattan — not so at Bistro.

Came here for a special occasion and was blown away. The waitress was more than nice and accommodating. She sat us under a fan and we asked if it would be possible to either turn it off or move and she was very quick to turn it off and make sure we were better. We were! It was my first time there so I asked the waitress for recommendations and she game me some for appetizer and a martini and both were incredible! The martini list is really good! The price can start to add up but if you save this place for a nice date or special occasion it’s all worth it. Would definitely go again!

Not my go-to restaurant in the Kingston area but have been here twice. I found the dining room to be cramp. The tables are so close quiet conversation can be heard at the next table. The service was young and lacked general knowledge of service etiquette. Food wise, each time the food was pedestrian. Salads were basic and the greens could have been fresher, cooler and crisper. The seafood entrée of scallops and shrimp was spartan. Dessert, which was said to be «homemade» was stale.

I was here last night and had a lovely time. It’s a little bit difficult to find since it’s in a large plaza, there aren’t really any big signs(in fact it’s tucked in a tiny corner), and the door opens into a small foyer or vestibule almost like going into someone’s home before you actually enter the restaurant. The service was wonderful and accommodating and the food was pretty good too. I started off with a few drinks at the couches at the front of the restaurant. For food I had the lobster strudel which was awesome. I love filo dough, and boursin with lobster in it? That’s a winning combination in and of itself. Smother that with some rich lobster sauce and top it on a small bed of greens, it was definitely a delicious appetizer. For the entrée I had one of the specials for the evening: shrimp with bacon risotto. Now I’ve had some poorly made risotto, but this risotto was firm and textured well. There were several large shrimp cooked and seasoned perfectly. No rubbery shrimp here! On the top of the risotto was a pile of scallions that were nicely cooked, and the smoky flavor of the bacon came out nicely. Top that with a creamy sauce dripped over the top, this dish was very rich but very good. The one thing that may have improved the dish was if they changed the crispy breakfast-type bacon in the dish to small thick cut cubes of bacon in the risotto. Overall, definitely a place for a great dinner and great service.
