I realized after driving all the way up to Kingston, NY from Virginia that I had forgotten some reading material, which I need to help me drift off to sleep. So I hit up B&N for something to read. I ended up spending way to much money. They had a «buy two, get one free» special on their Marvel Comic Book/Graphic Novel books, so I bought two and selected a third for free, plus a magazine and a couple of other books. Ended up spending over $ 100! Pretty nice B&N. Staff were friendly, nice, and helpful.

Wait, this is a book store? I thought it was the local library — who would have thought. I have been going to these places for years and have never once knew those books were«for sale». Instead, I usually just read a bunch of books, magazines and maybe drink some coffee then leave. Good to know that you can actually purchase things, but I don’t see the point?

The two stars is based on the poor customer experience that I’ve experienced at this store. The café staff is very polite but I had two negative encounters with the staff in the other branches of the store. I asked politely if the music could be changed and was treated rudely and given a lot of attitude. Having worked in customer service I always treat people in these positions with respect, and their disrespectful behavior was uncalled for. I tried offering feedback about why the music was not conducive to a book store environment, but the woman in the music department was absolutely impossible to talk with.

Book shopping! Everyone is super helpful in this Barnes & Noble, and I almost always find exactly what I’m looking for. I also like the Starbucks and the sitting area where you can read after you’ve found everything; the cooking books are conveniently located right next to the café. Nice touch, B & N, nice touch…

I forgot how«not that small» this Barnes & Noble is. Since I live closer to the one in Poughkeepsie, and that one is bigger, I kept writing off the Kingston store. Now that I’ve been back, I got to be impressed all over again. They’ve stayed current; they’ve improved their media area, enhanced the children’s area, and like the Poughkeepsie store they’ve added a nice games section. I already like the rest of the stores in this plaza; now I have more reason — again — to spend time here.

They will 95% of the time have what I’m looking for. As a B&N member, you can’t go wrong with their sales; Especially when they have 50% off all Criterion DVDs & Blu-rays. Add an extra 10% to that baby. The staff is great and they never look annoyed when you ask them questions(that goes a long way). Don’t ever go away!!!

A great homey feel upon entry. Staff is attentive and helpful, and the smell of books is great.

Although this location of B&N is only one story, the name says it all. They house a lot more books than most booksellers. And if they don’t, you can go to the center service desk and inquire if they can get your book in. Although they prefer an ISBN number to find your book, they’ll take almost any form of information to find your book including either title or subject-basis. The employees are well mannered, the store is well maintained and quiet. Although the seating couches are harder to find now that they moved most of the shelves around, it still maintains this quiet atmosphere, and if you are able to find these chairs, the chairs are comfy and are rarely full. They also have a café in this bookstore.
