Very much appreciated the careful attentiongiven to me by Eric and the guys at TCS. My house was constructed with the wrong size ductwork for the unit. This caused a premature failure of the unit. After talking with Mr. Givens about my options, I decided to «split» my units, adding a P-​TAC unit in the wall of my bonus room. Since having it installed (which the guys did in a day!), my bills have been significantly less AND we have more control of the tempature in the home. THANKS!

My heat pump broke, leaving me with no heat or air-​conditioning in the upstairs of my house. I called Total Comfort who came out and diagnosed the problem as a blown compressor, and advised my options were:
a) to replace the compressor at around $ 1,500.00 which was not recommended since the equipment is older, or
b) the recommended option, to replace the entire upstairs system at around $ 4,000.00.
I couldn’t afford either choice so have been heating with a wood stove and using electric blankets in the winter and suffering through the brutal Tennessee summers.
Recently I met a new friend who fixes these units and he offered to take a look at it. The first thing he did was check the «capacitor». It was no good. He replaced it and the unit is running perfectly. The part was TEN DOLLARS! He wouldn’t let me pay him, but said if he had billed me, the invoice would be $ 130.00.
BAD BAD BAD! Shame on you, Total Comfort!
