This place is somewhat a «hole in the wall» with a dark rustic interior and mismatched chairs. We stopped for an old favorite, cheesesteak, and a recommendation. Had heard nothing but raving reviews about the homemade perogies and being the perogie lovers we are, just had to try them. The service was fast and friendly, as it always is. The waitstaff is always very pleasant and prompt. Everyone on staff seems to really enjoy their work and interacting with their customers, they all deserve an A+. When we received our perogies, which we ordered with butter and onions not deep fried which they also offer, they were lukewarm and a little soggy. We all sent them back for a reheat knowing that this is not something that you should do but felt the need to do so that we could properly evaluate them. When they were brought back to our table it was apparent that they had been thrown on the cooktop to be warmed instead of thrown in the microwave which was pleasing to see. The outside was now slightly browned and no longer soggy in appearance. The inside, however, was still lukewarm and upon tasting quite flavorless. Even with the butter and onions you only tasted an unflavored mashed potato. Nothing notable on the positive side at all. For all of the compliments we had heard about them going in we were left very disappointed. This item does not reflect the overall menu though. Our ½ cheesesteaks we as always simply delicious. The half is 10 – 12 inches, served with options ranging from your traditional onions and peppers to really what ever you want including you choice of cheese. The steak is just that, steak, real meat, not a minute steak. They are flavorful without being overloaded with fat or any of those other dreadful little surprises you may worry about getting in a chopped meat sandwich. Also ordered was the honey-dipped chicken with fries and coleslaw. I did not taste any of that but my acquaintance who had ordered it left nothing but bones on his plate. Not bad for a guy who went in thinking he was going to only order a salad. Overall this place is really a delightful experience. Having to compete with a much larger, more publicized restaurant next door has clearly impacted their ability to keep an updated appearance as seating is limited and crowded and it’s very dark but they’ve put the money where it counts, food and staff. May stop back for a second try on the perogies just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke.

Kind and helpful people at this diner which is conveniently located near the interstate. I came by here to order lunch to go for 5 people and to make a pit stop*. I had the Club Turkey BLT which comes with a side of chips and a pickle. I didn’t realize that Club meant that your sandwich was going to be huge because I could barely take bites out of it. Totally not complaining. If you’re ordering a sandwich that isn’t prefaced with club, then be sure to specify toppings you want on it. My friend ordered a turkey sandwich and it came with just turkey and mayo. *FYI the bathrooms are clean.
