Royal & Ancient Grill

My boyfriend and I have eaten here twice and both times have been perfect! It’s a tiny little place, but the employees and owners are always so hospitable and professional. The food is to die for, and the portions are more than generous so you’ll have lunch for the next day as well. Love this little place!

Best place to get a burger in town. Wish they still owned three crowns. Oh well. The Philly is amazing. Just a great cook.

Excellent entrees! We’ve tried the Pork Chops and seared chicken. Both came with delicious gravy. We highly recommend this restaurant

Disappointed. This was the second time we are here. First time was great. This time there was only one steak on menu, not the filet but a New York. Ordered Med Rare, got well done. Baked potato looked like it had been in oven for hours because it was empty on the inside. The shrimp dinner was not good. I’ve never seen an entrée with just shrimp on a plate with sauce all over the plate. If they would’ve added half the shrimp with noodles and not so much sauce it could’ve been better. Dry Blue Cheese on Salad was piled on there. Wine bottle was a screw top. The other people in my party said the two specials were good that were not on menu.
For the price of this restaurant, I expected a step up.
Of course, the bread pudding was fantastic and the service was good.

I took my girl on date nite at the Royal and ancient grill. Everything was perfect, Nice hostess, great table very good service and the food was excellent. With just 10 tables it makes this a very romantic venue. We dress up for date night, and would think such a nice little place would have a dress code for at least Friday and Saturdayhowever sandals shorts and T-​shirts seem to be Ok.
If you haven’t eaten here make sure to put it on your list!

Go to this place repeatedly! Nothing is over $ 30 and the food is excellent. A beautiful, quaint space.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. I enjoyed a lovely glass of wine and of coarse the husband had a beer.
This was our first visit and we were unsure what to expect. It is a small place and you should make reservations. I cant see that they could accommodate a group larger the 6 to 8 ppl.
Husband ordered from the menu, prime rib and i had one of the specials, beef medallions w/​bacon and blue cheese crumbles. Both of our meals were cooked and seasoned to perfection. I also ordered dessert to go, i was too full but have heard that the bread pudding is to die for. I will know tomorrow because i just cant eat another bite. I highly recommend this for an adult evening, leave the kids at home.

This is one of my three favorite places to eat in Kingsburg. The food is delectable. I’ve had the cheeseburger, club sandwich, and the pan fried chicken. Each dish is a masterpiece of flavors. My husband loves the pork chops and philly cheese steak. The bread pudding dessert is a perfect ending.

Great Steak, great wine, amazing bread pudding. And I usually don’t even like bread pudding.

Very friendly waitstaff and a nice quaint restaurant. Extensive wine list and very fresh high-​quality food. A great place for a special occasion. We will definitely return.

I walked in and thought I walked into someone’s home. The dining area was small and carpeted. The chairs were old and the fabric was stained (gross). However, my server was the sweetest old lady I have ever met! She was a great waitress and very outgoing. The menu is very slim though. I ordered the chicken and when I got it I was honestly disappointed. It was a giant (it was seriously the size of my head) fried chicken. For the price tag on it, I was expecting the food to be phenomenal.

What a gem! We were so surprised to find this treasure during our visit to Kingsburg. The food was delicious, prepared by a very talented chef. The service was exceptional as well. Very reasonable prices considering the quality of the cuisine. Don’t miss it!

This was my first visit & I have mixed reviews. My wife and I came for lunch.
Good — friendly service, elegant dinning room, Philly Cheese-​steak was AMAZING, homemade blue cheese dressing was perfect. Price of the meal was perfect for the food and ambiance. Not very expensive at all.
Needs improvement — Chicken salad was boring and lacked flavor. The room had a smell to it because the fans are not on above the grill and that «kitchen» smell goes out into the dinning room. Loud group made it hard to hear anything at our small table. It is a small, intimate room and sounds bounce all over the room. Bread would have been nice to have at the table.
The burgers looked amazing and so did their specials, so I will be back to try another meal. I recommend making a reservation. Seats fill up fast.

If you want horrible customer service, this is the place to go. While the food is good, the staff is consistently rude. I would not recommend this restaurant.

This Little elegant place with about 10 tables is excellent. Loved the service loved the food. Loved the wine list. The wedge salad is delicious and the rib eye with garlic parsley butter was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this lovely little place

Cozy, intimate, restaurant with a feeling like you are at a friend’s house in their dining room. The portions for the dinner plates are huge; expect to leave full. I had the fish and my friend had a pork chop special that included bacon jelly! The menu is limited, but the items on the menu that I tried are done very well. Keep your eyes peeled when driving there because as others have said it is very small and there isn’t a sign.

Went here for an anniversary dinner. We were not sure what to expect but glad we gave it a try. It is a little hard to find since there isn’t any signage on the road, only on the door. There is a large open patio in front. I dont know any details as far as the chef or the building but if you are in the area the food is definately worth the try. Casual but very nice. Only a few options on the menu but we were able to find something we liked. I had the ruffy and the hubby had the steak. Both were amazing. The most expensive entrée on the menu was $ 24, you could easily pay double that in a bigger city. Would be willing to drive from Fresno (where I live) to Kingsburg just for dinner.

Although this little place has been here for 3 years, I’ve only just discovered it. LOVE it! Excellent food, ambience and very polite service. Everything is delicious! They are consistent with their hours and are open when they say they will be.
I’ll come back many times to this lovely place.

This seems to be a word of mouth type of place. Went with a local and had one of the best NY Strips I’ve ever had. I’ve had some pretty tasty steaks but this was my perfect «Medium». This would have been a $ 60+ meal in the bay area. $ 20 at the Royal.
This place is a must stop if you are in the area.
