ISCREAMICECREAM, SOWEGOTSOME! BACKGROUND: Developer Werner Fleischmann visited Kingman several times a year for over 20 years developing the land, selling real estate, purchasing and renting properties, as well as taking ownership of several commercial properties. One property is the 30 rooms Hotel Brunswick, built in 1909 has had its fair share of owners over the years, all of whom fell short and in 2010, its doors were closed once again. When Fleischman took over the building, his plans were to keep it an old-time hotel with a modern twist. The hotel’s offerings is not exclusive to its guests, its restaurant, as well as ice cream parlor and bakery, are open to all the locals and visitors of Kingman. STATS: Monday — Thursday 11:00 a.m. — 8:00 p.m. Friday — Saturday 11:00 a.m. — 10:00 p.m. Sunday 1:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m. Plenty of free street parking OUREXPERIENCE: After a hardy meal, three door down, at El Palacio, I was in need of some ice cream. Low and behold, my eyes did not deceive me, there was an ice cream shop a few steps away. The interior is open concept with ice cream service on the left and a sammie shop on the right, as well as knick knacks for purchasing throughout. The hardwood floors, and vintage antique ice cream parlor tables and chairs, and pictures on the walls gives it an old-time, small town feel. If you are expecting for a plethora of choices or artisan flavors, you won’t see them here. What you will find is old fashioned ice cream at old fashioned prices, as well as a friendly and personable staff who actually enjoy what they do and it shows in the care and forethought they put into packing a great deal of ice cream in each scoop, and all for a very reasonable price. If cones or cups filled with ice cream aren’t your thing, they too offer up Sundaes, Shakes, Banana Splits, and Root Beer Floats. And if hard-to-find candy is your thang, well, they offer that as well, they even take special orders. Continuing with the old time theme, I ordered a scoop of Rocky Road, while The Crew’s beloved Mark kept it classy and ordered the Chocolate, fellow hiker is already too sweet and passed on ordering. My RR was delish, it simply melted in my mouth, not my hands and Mark’s already high level of excitement were kicked up a notch after his first bite of his Chocolate. While lickin up our ice cream, we touted around town, stopping in several vintage stores filled with antiques and locally handmade items. If ever you find yourself on Route 66 in Kingman, AZ, and are in need of some leg stretchin’, Mexican grub and old-time cream, have some chips and salsa with an adult beverage chaser, at El Palacio, then head over to Route 66 Ice Cream & Sweets to calm any fire bombs caused by overindulging in El’s great eats. I know I will again someday.

Great little place, friendly service great price, I had a two scoop sundae for $ 4.50 would have been $ 9 at the chain stores. The ice cream was creamy and the portions were generous.

By far the best quality ice cream in Kingman Arizona. It also has a good atmosphere and an amazing restaurant located inside the same billing called Vita Bella.

My family loves Route 66 Ice Cream & Sweets! We go a minimum of once a week when it’s hot and about twice a month when it’s not hot. It’s a staple in our weekends! It is the perfect local small business to show your support to! It’s located in a gorgeous historic building on Old Route 66 with beautiful architectural details, and local artists showcase their art all over the walls. The ice cream, shakes, candy, and other sweets are high quality and CHEAP! I am always telling the owner she needs to charge more! It’s such a deal! They also just opened the second half of the building into a sandwich shop and deli, which is quite good! This is where the coffee shop used to be located. Their hours are a little funny, but that’s how it is in a small town :) Their closing time is essentially based on whether or not people are in the store. We have come by over an hour after«closing» before to see them happily serving up cones! The parking is easy, either right on the street, OR you can park in the lot just to the West of the building. There really isn’t anything more this place could offer(except maybe more outdoor seating when the weather is nice!) it is a must-visit place in Kingman!

Fun ice cream and treat store. Stepping in the front door you are taken back in time to a cute small town ice cream store. They have a good selection of Shamrock ice cream flavors. They offer homemade waffle cones, cake cones and by the cup. For those not into ice cream they have a cute bakery for other delicious looking treats. The staff was friendly and the sitting area was clean. I now have a favorite ice cream and treat stop. It worth going to the older side of town to enjoy this hidden gem.

Great experience traveling through Kingman with our friends. All together, 4 adults and 6 kids… so that makes 20 thumbs up! Nice décor, friendly staff, and quality ice cream. We even got a sneak peak at some of the upcoming bakery items. You have to try the homemade cream cheese donuts when they become available!

Shamrock Farms ice cream served in a beautifully restored building in Kingman historic district. Excellent service with very friendly staff. They even offer samples if you aren’t sure what you want. Well worth a stop for a treat.
