Love this place! Delicious home made food, super friendly staff, gourmet coffee, and let’s not forget the pastries… This is what Maine is all about. Highly recommend!

Fantastic fresh food and great service in a fun atmosphere! Both the breakfast and lunch options are delicious. My favorite sweet treats include the chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting, and(if you’re lucky) the pumpkin whoopie pies. I stop in every time I’m in the area. It’s not to be missed.

Great little café with friendly service. We had a nice tasty breakfast two days in a row! Kids have huge thumbs up to the apple fritter and cinnamon buns.

I was so lucky to find this place. It’s a great cozy café to relax and have a bowl of home made soup, sandwich, or quiche. The sweet potato soup I had was filling and delicious, and the baked goods are very tempting. The atmosphere is very inviting, so if you’ve got time definitely come here and stay a while.

Great spot in Kingfield, where there are only a few options for breakfast. The hot breakfast choices are limited, but delicious. The breakfast burrito is one of the best I’ve had in a while. The baked goods are out of this world! Solid coffee options. Cozy atmosphere, wonderful staff and quirky décor. This is a must stop on your way up to sugarloaf or on the way home.

Booming establishment in land of no food quality options — if you need a café this is it for a long ways away! I’m positive the ski resort pulls in half the visitors as they go to and from the mountain but there are a lot of locals too. Portions are generous, everything is fresh, ingredients are above average but not gourmet and the sitting and stay environment is fun and cozy. It’s like grandma is in the kitchen making soup every time I was there. If you snuggle up next to the cat be ready, within seconds on your lap and you won’t be able to leave for hours!

The Orange Cat is definitely worth planning your trip around! The«Ali’s» special ham, bacon, pepper jack and banana pepper wrap was excellent. But what made our visit to The Orange Cat café so memorable was the Maitre d’, Copper, and the wonderful décor. Be sure to read the inscription along the top of the walls in the dining room.

The Orange Cat is a great place for breakfast and lunch. It’s not a greasy spoon diner kind of place. It’s a little bit funky with a more eclectic selection than other places in the area. They have a good choice of bagels, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, pastries, etc. My breakfast favorites include Good Morning Grains which is steel cut oatmeal with bananas, pecans and maple syrup. I am also drawn to the Super Love Breakfast Burrito with chopped boiled eggs(unexpected, but a nice twist), cheese, sausage and salsa in a tortilla. Wash it all down with locally-made Carrabassett Coffee and your day is good to go! Lunch is equally delicious and creative. Great sandwiches, soups and quiche. I highly recommend the curry chicken wrap. It has a tasty mix of chicken, yellow curry, raisins, pickles and provolone cheese. Truly addictive and I’m not even a curry fan! The choice of sides is either their amazing cucumber salad or chips and salsa. The salsa tastes homemade and they use the tri-color tortilla chips which are probably store-bought but still good. No complaints here! They have comfy couches and plenty of seating to enjoy your meal. Another plus is the free wi-fi which is nice in such a remote area with limited connectivity. Oh yeah… their iced coffee is a refreshing treat in warmer months. I love how they make coffee ice cubes so your drink gets«coffee’d» down instead of watered down. Nice touch!

I don’t know who put the address in for this very casual and yummy restaurant, but it is ONROUTE27INKINGFIELD just north of the village on the right side after the bridge. They have a non traditional breakfast, tho you will not be disappointed. They have free wifi and leather couches that help ease you into your day. I LOVE the soups and the sandwiches for lunch too. Plus the service is great! It is small, so sometimes there may be a bit of the wait, but you won’t be disappointed! Vegetarians will love this plsce!
