High cost, spotty attendance of vendors, not sure if all of the sellers are organic or not. One vendor has all boxes from the Philadelphia Produce Market. Are the items he sells really from his farm? Have the farmers market people verified that the items are organic or are they just assuming and letting the customers assume? Don’t you wonder?

A great place with all the essentials you need and then some. I love the turkey, cheese, and pretzels the most there. It is a friendly environment with kind staff and a energetic atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The vendors and community organizers make this farmer’s market wonderful. Each week there’s new vendors and a group of vendors that show up weekly — supporting local businesses and farmers is reason this place is so great. Here’s a list of vendors at the market! The fruit and vegetables last so much longer than when I buy from the supermarket! They seem to have a variety of non-profit animal shelters showing off pets for adoption and of course, the locals bring their dogs too to show off. It’s a festive atmosphere and at certain times of day, a wonderful dog show!

apparently this market has been in existance for 3 years now, but i’m just learning about it. boy, i wish i had know before! this is a great place to buy meat and dairy. i bought an excellent filet mignon and eggs from Livengood farms here, and i will absolutely be back for more. they will also be taking thanksgiving turkey orders soon. i didn’t find this to be a great place for produce though, but that’s because i found my produce place already, which has cheaper prices. they do have a lot of fruits and veggies and if you find something you want, then you should snag it. i just like my regular place better for that kind of stuff. there is also wine, which was fantastic. some of the stuff sold here can be expensive, like the milk and some cheese, but since it’s organic i understand why. i’m going to stick to the meats and eggs though. they also have live music and special events like the community yard sale and oktoberfest(very much looking forward to that!). i’m so glad i discovered this place! it’s small, but they still pack a lot of great stuff, and you can feel good about buying local.

I am always so happy when the market opens in May. Since my first time visiting last year, it quickly became one of my Saturday morning routine. It’s a small market. The most I have seen was around 15 vendors. Despite its limited size, it still has a lot to offer, from vegetables, fruits, to bread, cheese, and meat. What I like about this market: 1. Lots of parking: it’s right behind Upper Merion Library. So plenty of parking. 2. Mushroom stand: they have so many variety. A bag for $ 5 is not bad. 3. Marliscious: they offer European style cake and baked goods. the cakes are just sweet enough. Yum! Certainly a nice start of your weekend!

This market is small but has all of the essentials covered, in addition to some very tasty baked goods. Some highlights from this year(opened in May, I think): Daily Loaf: organic flaxseeds and whole-grain flour Marliscious: the pistachio torte cake is 3 fantastics layers of pistachio cake sandwiched between and enrobed in a pistachio-filled cream. I have not found a pistachio cake anywhere else and this is just delicious. The Prinzregententorte is amazing to even look at, with 8+ layers of super-thin sponge cake layered with chocolate cream and covered in a thin chocolate coating; it’s very good and has just the right amount of sweetness. She doesn’t always have every cake every time, but you can always order a particular flavor. Farm Fromage: creamy, organic goat cheese — it’s delicious paired with a spring mix salad and glazed walnuts. Frecon Farms: hard cider. need I say more? Jimmies Cupcake Co.: James Taylor/Boston cream cupcake with a custard filling, vanilla cake, and chocolate frosting. Personally, I just like the names. Cupcakes taste pretty good, too, but aren’t as fantastic as House of Cupcake’s in Pton. Livengood Family Farm — grass fed ground sirloin — makes REALLY good, tender burgers MacDougall’s Irish Victory Cake: You HAVE to try the sweet butter cake! It’s rich, buttery, and full of simple, delicious goodness. They have other varieties but this is the traditional tried-and-true, and, in my opinion, the best. Definitely stop by if you live in the area and don’t feel like driving down to Reading or Ardmore for your farmer’s market goods. I only wish that they had more prepared foods and snacks, like sandwiches and roasted meats.

This year, Upper Merion finally opened their first farmer’s market! Woohoo! The market is behind the Upper Merion Township building(where the police station and library are) which means there is plenty of parking. The market volunteers are all extremely nice and helpful. The market consists of 20 or so vendors selling vegetables and fruits, chocolate, bread, cheese, plants, and much more. There is definitely more room to add vendors in the future(which I hope really happens.) Here are a few of my favorite booths: Suzy-Jo Donuts — fresh donuts at a market? Yes! Great Harvest Bread Co — My current favorite is the Savannah Pecan Swirl. It’s cinnamon and pecan swirled throughout the bread. Livengood Family Farm — great supply of vegetables and fruits. They also sell chicken, beef, and lamb. Their asparagus and strawberries are delicious. Shellbark Hollow Farm — come taste their award winning sharp goat cheese. It’s currently in our fridge. Spring Creek Farm — they sell a great organic bacon and onion dip. Their raw milk is also, surprisingly, tasty. Love n Fresh Flowers — i love her cactus arrangements in pottery pieces, tea pots/cups, and my favorite, spice cans!
