IF you can find this place, it’s worth the trip. Do NOT expect anything fancy. This is a fresh seafood store with a dozen or so basic tables/booths that also sells prepared meals(broiled or fried). The food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. It’s a walk-up-to-the-counter-to-order and eat-your-meal-on-plastic-plates-and-utensils kind of place. It smells like a seafood store… get over it, it’s not a bad odor. And the owner miraculously knows what I’m going to order before I say it, no matter how long it’s been since I’ve last been there(helps that I’m consistent, too). If anyone remembers Bouy I seafood in Paoli, it has that kind of feel to it(which is great, because I really miss Bouy!)

Originally my review said the food was okay. But when I reheated my food in the oven the following day it was even better. I prefer a crunchier coating. The seafood was fresh. Because of its initial appearance I was taken aback when I ate the crab cake and there was hardly any cake. Yum I will most definitely be returning to try more. As a note: The best way to enter coming from the Norristown area is to take the Danenhauer Bridge into Bridgeport and once you pass the Bridgeport Rib House(on left) take the first small Street to your right over the bridge.

Doesn’t look like you can do half stars, so I’m going to go for 5 stars for an establishment that serves the freshest and tastiest seafood that I’ve had so far. The fried shrimp a second to none. While a little pricey, I think it’s worth the money to not only receive fresh, good, and tasty food, but to have a friendly staff who always greet you with a smile.

I came here for the first time on New Year’s Eve on the suggestion of a friend. I was looking to pick up some fresh mussels and scallops. The market was clean and the workers were extremely friendly and knowledgable about the freshness and where their product came from. The mussels and scallops were a major hit that night! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for quality fresh seafood!

The freshest, most extensive selection of seafood in the area. The staff is super attentive and knowledgeable, and the food is outstanding. I highly recommend the fresh fish filets, escargots and soft shell crabs. I’ve never gotten a bad piece of fish/shellfish. It’s a staple of my seafood loving family

I think I am done with Suburbia unfortunately. Workers are great and extremely helpful. This; however, was the first time I had ever been in the location. Location is a bit tricky/trecherous to get into. Tucked in the back corner of Bridgeport, it is easy to miss. The inside is dark and very dated. What killed it for me was the smell. Granted, any seafood place has that special smell of raw fish and crustaceans. This smell was off unfortunately. I worried about it more 3minutes later when a very obvious smell of Glade/Frebreeze became thick in the air. The cooked food ordered was good and fresh. I bought crab claws as a treat; however, I will be throwing it away as the funky«off» smell is in the bag. The smell was in the bag of condiments as well. Makes me very leary of getting things in the future.

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! Nice people who care about their product(s). Ordered takeout(raw/uncooked): jumbo shrimp, top neck clams, and scallops. All outstanding and wallet friendly. Supermarket seafood days are over!

Best hard shell crabs in the area bar none. You can buy by the order or the bushel. If you time it right, you can get the crabs hot, right out of pot. The crabs are always seasoned and cooked just right. I typically buy all my fresh seafood here, since turnover is high and freshness is guaranteed.

This place is a hidden gem. We ordered our food for take-out so we weren’t too worried about the ambiance. However, our food more than made up for the place itself. We ordered a lobster tail platter(w/fries and cole slaw), 2 orders of 15 clams(w/butter), and 2 orders of jumbo steamed shrimp. Everything was huge(including the shrimp which were about the size of my fist!) and cooked quite well. My grandfather’s Maine lobster tail platter was well prepared and he said his onion rings were also perfect.(And he’s a tough cookie to please!) It definitely made their anniversary!

Let me start off by first letting you know that you will not be wowed at Suburbia’s ambiance. This is an unassuming place tucked away by a strip club in King of Prussia, PA off of 202. They specialize in both wholesale and retail sales of all types of seafood. They have very fresh seafood products that you can buy and take home or have them cook for you there while you wait at one of their booths or tables. They have excellent specials and their prices are very reasonable. A few of my co-workers and I will stop in here for lunch every now and again for a cup of soup and something to eat. Whether it is fried or broiled you will find it at Suburbia. PS– They also serve hush puppies
