Ron hit the nail on the head with his review. The event didn’t quite live up to expectations. There certainly is value in knowing what can be done«locally», but I was hoping for a few moderate options to balance out the local and extreme(as much as I am curious about taking an African Safari). While the event was not extensive, admission was cheap(with plenty of options to get in free). Thanks to Unilocal,we won tickets which also included access to the Mid-Atlantic Craft Beer Pavilion. Not much going on there, as there were only about a dozen vendor booths. Speaking for the Sunday afternoon show, I need to admit there was no-line no wait at every booth, which is great. They were also generous with their pours(bonus). Unfortunately, not all vendors were represented by company employees, limiting the ability to get questions answered(my favorite answer was«I don’t know, I don’t actually work for the company»). Not sure I would have been thrilled had I paid $ 35 admission, but I got the most out of the experience. I’d only return if they expanded and took the beer pavilion more seriously.

My wife and I were looking to plan a Spring island vacation and through the wonderful Michelle C. we were award tickets. We thought that there were too many booths with places that could be reached easily by car(Cape May County, most of New England, the Carolina’s, Virginia, etc.) or very exotic vacations(African Safari’s). The booths with for the island destinations were not that helpful but it seemed that the cruise lines were. We also spoke to the representative from the new Revel Casino which was very informative. The two highlights of our visit were seeing the lovely Allison B. at the Unilocal table and we saw Arthur Frommer giving a talk about travel. Think we would skip this next year.
