Best bagels in the area so glad it’s a quick 5 minute drive for me. After moving I very much missed the amazing bagel shop in Great Barrington MA, so although a smaller menu I am so happy for a place on par in quality to have opened nearby. Great bagels, great sandwiches, nice décor– I am very happy with the new addition to my neighborhood.

I finally got to this new place and think excellent overall. Haven’t tried the bakery items but the bagels are terrific. It is nearly impossible to find good bagels in the Kinderhook area(upper Columbia/lower Rensselaer counties), where most of the bakers do not know what barley malt is. These bagels have almost too much — they are borderline sweet! but the texture is absolutely lovely and flavor is great. These bagels are boiled. The closest competition steams theirs(I asked). I have to say that the best bagels I experienced outside NYC were those at the Jewish Men’s Club breakfasts in Utica, years ago, and I have encountered only a few since that can compare. My biggest but I suppose petty complaint with Broad Street Bagel is the prices — 99 cents and only a small break to buy a half dozen or dozen, for what I would call smallish size bagels. Gets expensive to buy for the office !!! I am not sure if day-olds are offered — I would buy them in an instant because I am confident they would be made that day.

By far the best bagels! Homemade cream cheese is amazing! Ordered a sandwich platter for a baby shower and it was a huge hit! Yes there are now two bagel shops but the other does not compare!

Really good bagels. Boiled, as they oughta, and I believe the only true bagels in this part of the county, including Hudson. Could improve: kid behind counter didn’t know his nova from lox, and I had to ask someone else to see if I could get nova, not salty lox. It was good, tho not not hand-sliced, but tasty on a real bagel. Seven bucks seemed like a lot in Kinderhook. Seating could be better — tables are too small and numerous to be comfortable, so people use extra tables. Piped in music is annoying –semi-disco garbage. So, a step up in quality from Bagel Tyme overall, and a very big step up bagel-quality-wise.

Great bagel shop and I come from the home of the bagel, NYC. Good coffee and chai. I had a wonderful bacon, egg and cheese sandwich(with a fried egg not microwaved like some other local places) on a stellar everything bagel(with tons of seeds on both sides-like it’s supposed to have) and a blueberry Danish. Both utterly fantastic, not to mention really nice people behind the counter. Definitely on my list anytime I am in the area!

The long wait is over! After a year and a half, the Calcagno’s have opened Broad St. Bagels, and it has been worth the wait. A complete remodel of the store reveals the original wood floors and brick walls and makes for an inviting atmosphere to sit and have an espresso or latte while chatting with friends and neighbors. The bagels are outstanding and as good, if not better, than anything you’ll get in NYC. I’ve had several different wraps and bagel sandwiches and the quality is excellent. You will not be disappointed in Kinderhook’s newest eatery. Barry H.

Being a born and raised New Yorker, we know our bagels and let me tell you, these are some damn good bagels… Spotted this little gem on our way back to Long Island after the holiday weekend and I am glad we did! The bagels are made fresh daily and everything is made to order(which is great if you are a picky eater like me). I got a sesame bagel and my boyfriend got the«Van Ness Veggie» wrap which was killer… goat cheese spread — need to say no more. Friendly staff, nice ambiance, delicious coffee and GOOD bagels! I rarely write reviews but we had a great experience all around plus I really push for mom and pop spots. Will definitely be back next time I am in the area!
