I forgot why I stopped going here. Brought my family here for breakfast, it wasn’t busy, we got seated quickly. It took quite some time just to get coffee, so we placed our order when the coffee arrived. 45 minutes later, no more coffee, no water or juice, waitress ignored us, but cranky owner came over to tell us the chairs are old so please don’t lean back or they will break. People standing in the kitchen chatting, no one serving food! I went up to the counter and just said what is the bill, we are leaving. If you can’t cook a few eggs in 45 minutes… Really just terrible service. We will never go back again.

The Station Bistro is where to be if longing for a real Kimberton brunch experience. Quaint, sophisticated, and friendly, the Station Bistro fully embraces a progressive and modern diet at affordable, unpretentious prices. A menu consisting completely of organic, non-GMO dishes and a signature coffee to enjoy while waiting for the meal. However, if dining here is to be fulfilled, spare time is essential; as waiting to be seated and waiting at least 30 minutes for an entrée to arrive after being seated is almost garenteed.

I really want to love this restaurant and have been several times in the past for breakfast. I went today with my 2 children and experienced such terrible service that we will definitely not return. When we arrived there were only 2 other tables of diners and the 2 employees were chatting at another table. In place of a greeting, one of the waitstaff turned over his shoulder and said«sit wherever you want. » After we received the wrong drinks, the waiter corrected the problem but made no apology. When I received the bill I was surprised to see I was charged for an adult portion and drink for my 6 year old who had grilled cheese. When I brought it to the waiters attention, he said«that was not the kids meal.» I asked why he would not have brought the kids meal for a 6 year old and he turned and walked away. Just a terrible experience and they seem to make no effort toward customer service at all.

A nice, guilt-free dining experience as the food is mostly organic and non GMO. Came here for a birthday breakfast yesterday and had a delicious omelet with croissant and tea. Server was very sweet, but not very attentive. We had to walk up to the kitchen twice to get her attention for a glass of water and then for the check. She did not ask us if our food was okay and didn’t check on us at all after delivering the plates. She blamed this on being busy getting the place ready for lunch. Would like to come back for lunch to really experience what their menu has to offer and to hopefully redeem my experience with the wait staff.

After reading a few reviews, I was nervous about the service here. It was great! The waiters and waitresses were friendly and attentive and very helpful. The food was fantastic, and service is fast to boot! I have no idea what people were talking about in their reviews. Definitely coming here again.

I came here with my mom for a good American breakfast. I’m excited for all restaurants organic, and so, it was a must-try. We ordered(organic) coffee and a Café Breve, both of which were excellent. They came out quickly. Next, we ordered our breakfast– I had the grits(not much of an appetite in the AM) and Mom ordered eggs, grits, bacon, and rye toast. My grits were good, but very salty. My Mom enjoyed her breakfast, quoting it as excellent, and she preferred the salty grits. I’d say make the grits without salt and let the customer choose their personalized sodium content. :) I snagged a piece of her rye toast, which was perfectly toasted with great rye flavor. The food was all very good. I noticed that they have Mighty Leaf teas, which makes me want to stop by on a cold winter day and read a book. The beautiful stone interior and wood ceiling makes for a wonderful old world ambiance. The total was $ 21 before tax. Not bad, I’d say, for a good, organic breakfast for two. Note: the owner was working at her laptop at a nearby table and was very friendly/sweet to us when we had some questions for the server(she had the answers). The server was attentive, and got our orders right. All was fine. The ambiance is also very nice. I wish I’d been hungrier– this review might’ve been better. :)

Having dined at the Station Bistro for brunch and dinner before, I thought this would be a cozy spot to visit during an exceptionally rainy June weekend. My mom and I headed out for a later lunch on a Saturday afternoon(around 1pm) and found the place empty, with the exception of a table of 6 seated nearby enjoying their meals. We were seated immediately, given menus, a waited a little bit before asking if we were interested in beverages(a coffee for me and a water for her). We put in our very simple orders of a bowl of vegetable soup and a cobb salad. Mom and I chatted up and watched the weather through the very large windows that surround the dining room. And we waited… and watched… and waited for a good 40 minutes before our soup and salad were delivered to us. Now, it’s been some time since I’ve worked in a kitchen, but I am rather confident that the two items we ordered require the limited effort from a chef, and are often prepared(or even pre-prepared) by the servers themselves. The soup was enjoyable, but my mother asked kindly for some bread, so as to further enjoy the broth. That request was actually asked twice, as it seemed our server(who was *not* occupied with other tables) seemed to blank out on us. My salad was good, but I felt it under-performed in the size department, given it’s $ 15 price tag. I’m willing to bet that there was no more than 2 oz of chicken with my salad, but I will give them credit that the bacon was bountiful. It included some cheese and half a sliced egg and was topped with a small scoop(like a melon scoop) of guacamole. I’d say that it was more like a $ 10 salad. Our server continued to blank out during our meal, never returning to ask how we were enjoying it. I did get a refill of my coffee, though. About an hour and 20 minutes after arriving, we received our check, and was somewhat surprised by the final bill(almost $ 30 for 1 salad, 1 soup, a cup of coffee+1 refill, and a water). Turns out, Station Bistro charges $ 2.95 for an 8 oz mug of coffee and then charges again for your refill. Not worth the price points. Frankly, we were incredibly disappointed with our service, the price and the general«blah» of the place. I will probably not return for a meal, especially if they have their«B» list of staff working during the days.

My mom and I just ate here today for breakfast, and I was very disappointed. Though the natural space(stone walls, wooded ceilings) is beautiful, the décor could be greatly improved. The coffee was awful, no matter how much creamer we added. The toast, eggs, and potatoes were great, but nothing extraordinarily special(the butter is DIVINE). Service was mediocre, and overall we were underwhelmed with the experience. It’s a shame, because it has so much potential due to its location and the building. Wish I could write something more positive, and I would love to see holistic improvements to the Station Bistro.

Have been coming here for years and always enjoyed the food and service until recently. Service has slipped considerably in the last few months. On my last couple visits my orders have been wrong and the checks wrong as well. On top of that the prices seems to have risen in direct inverse proportion to the service. Time to find another place for breakfast.

Fantastic breakfast! The coffee is the best in the area and the food quality is top notch… though a bit pricey($ 10 for oatmeal w/nuts & berries!?!)

This is one of my favorite restaurants ever. The stone interior, local art, open kitchen, and fireplace give this restaurant such an inviting and unique feel. It was a great addition to this small town I grew up in, in keeping with the artsy, holistic, organic flair this little town is becoming known for. Beautiful historic building. Great food with many organic ingredients! The cobb salad with onion, dijon, vinegarett is my favorite, I add croutons and leave out the bacon(I don’t eat pigs) My Mom swears by the bean and pasta soup, which shocked me because I’ve never seen her be fond of those two ingredients before, so it must be amazing! The french onion is devine, infact we plan on having both on Monday! Our favorite Mother– daughter lunch date spot!

This place is great… If you want overpriced food, a veryyyy short time to actually order food and eat, the worst possible parking, and an extremely cold reception from the staff there. Firstly, the window of time that this place is open and serving food each day is EXTREMELY limited. The first time we tried to go, we were turned away at 11:45 because they«stopped serving at 1 and didn’t think we’d be ‘done’ by their closing time.» Hmm seems… A little over the top, but okay. We left. On our second attempt, today, we tried to find parking. There were no signs along the street, nor were there signs indicating parking in the back was available or «in the parking lot of the post office»(seems…legal?). Once we parked wherever we could find a spot, came into the bistro and got settled, a bus boy came over(alongside his impossibly rude and abrasive manager, we assume) to tell us we had to move because we were breaking the law and on someone’s private property… On a public street.(private property? As in you telling people to park in the private lot of the post office? Oh okay.) Even as my boyfriend stood to go move our car, the extremely rude«manager» proceeded to speak as loudly as she could(I guess everyone in the bistro needed to hear you) about other«parking arrangements». Maybe get some signs next time? Interestingly enough, a couple sitting near us shook their heads at the manager’s rude approach and proceeded to tell me that the bistro needed to get signs for people unfamiliar to the area, and that their approach afterwards was«inappropriate». Thank you, we definitely agree. If you aren’t a «regular» to this place, you may run into some rather cold shoulders as well from much of the staff there. Some are very polite, as they should be in such an establishment. But most were very rude, especially that manager. You can’t expect any servers to learn proper etiquette when the managers are setting a terrible example. When we said«thank you,» on our way out, she replied with… NOTHING. A quick glance of distaste was about it. Which is interesting. It’s not as if we are paying customers or anything. Such an attitude will alienate new clientele and seal the deal on them never coming back. Ever. All in all, the food was okay, but nothing to blow our minds or to justify the rude behavior of management and total lack of class. The vibe of the place was interesting and artsy, but not for the price or the icy reception. If you’re looking for good food at a reasonable price with a polite and friendly atmosphere… This is NOT the place for you. If you’re looking for mediocre food with a waspy, snobby atmosphere– especially if you’re «different» or new– then congratulations! You should love it here. Read the other reviews on the distasteful service here. They definitely play«favorites» here, regardless of how much you order or pay or how polite YOU are. What a disgrace. Manners, manners, manners.

I love this place! It’s so cozy and the coffee is delicious! I got the portobello eggs Benedict with home fries and it was outstanding. Now the food was really late and the server wasn’t that professional and didn’t even smile at all, if I’m going to go out to eat and spend my money I want to be treated with appreciation. but the overall experience was pretty positive, I recommend the station bistro.

Food & Portions were excellent. Ordered the blueberry pancakes which were really fresh and side of ham with hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was excellent and they were very generous with it, came in more of a bowl then a cup. However they were on the slightly higher side for breakfast. For two of us the total was almost $ 35.00. That’s more then we are likely to do often for breakfast.

We went there twice in a row for breakfast and it was fabulous. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. They have a huge selection of omelets. The pancakes and french toast are great too. The restaurant has a great feel which was perfect for our weekend getaway.

This is a great little hidden gem in Kimberton! I stopped in for lunch(although I’ve mostly heard good reviews about breakfast) and was pleasantly surprised! I had the avocado/crab stack with fried pita, which had a pretty and upscale presentation. The portion was small for the price, but the flavors were good. I also had the French Onion Soup, which was amazing. Too many placed serve this soup(which is one of my FAVORITES) with WAY too much salt. Their version had a nice lightly salted broth which was very good. My boyfriend had the hot ham and cheese sandwich, which he devoured & loved. The hand cut french fries that it came with were also quite tasty. I definitely plan on going back for lunch and trying our some more items, and definitely plan to stop in for breakfast! My only complaint is that I was chilly inside. I had to keep my coat on.

Totally stumbled upon this place and what a find!!! The place is as cute as can be inside with great tables and comfortable seating. Cheerful and attentive staff and prompt service. Local artists have their work on the walls and there is a big old fireplace with a fire going too! And the food — OH my! One word: EXCELLENT! Fresh ingredients do indeed make a huge difference. They are a BYOB but if you don’t feel like drinking order their fresh brewed iced tea! So glad to have found this place! Can’t wait to go back!

Been here twice, hoping the second visit would prove me wrong from the first. I’m also a little confused to why this place has such a high rating. Breakfast is severely average and the one waitress we’ve had twice now is anything but welcoming. Yes the atmosphere is nice and«rustic» but there are so many other options in the area that offer much tastier food at the same price point. I had the huevos rancheros and the french toast at each visit – food is bland and not even prepared well. My huevos rancheros were served in what was essentially Wegman’s tortilla shells and El Paso salsa. Just my $ 0.02.

This place is wonderful. I went for breakfast by myself on a Monday morning and couldn’t have been more happy. it was a quaint cute place and very homey. I was one of the two customers there(myself and an older man) and we both were enjoying a quiet breakfast while reading. it was nice how quiet the staff was… all you could hear was the music. I got my standard breakfast… two eggs over easy, rye toast, and a breakfast meat(I got sausage this time) and I was more than pleased. the eggs were cooked well and I enjoyed the rustic hash browns(very fresh) The treat of the meal was the coffee selection! I was able to get a delicious café breve with an extra shot and boy did it hit the spot. Very affordable… with a gourmet coffee drink and a large plate of food my bill came to 11.36 I have already decided that this is my favorite breakfast spot and am looking forward to trying lunch and dinner(BYOB!)
