Pretty sure they have closed down. I drive past every day, since we live down 195 and it looks shut down. What a shame, read the great reviews and had been wanting to try it out.

Quaint place; yet awesome :) Great filipino food, and halo-halo! I love the fact that you can shop inside for some filipino goods and also have a delicious meal :)

Second review after new ownership is still a plus good food staff nice and friendly even changed the buffet to a single meal cause my date only ate one plate, come on what other place would do that lol. But I always like the lil Asian snacks and new change around of the store a good place to check if never been

Authentic, friendly and yummy! Haven’t experienced many Filipino restaurants but this lil buffet was good. I’m not too fond of pork so be careful if u don’t dig on swine, its in practically everything. The rice porridge was amazing, similar to Korean samgeytang, great comfort food!

Yaaay just what I’ve been trying to find around here… the probability of finding an oriental store, and more specifically a Filipino store is directly proportional to your proximity to any military base and coming from Hawaii, I was having some Asian food withdrawal… yeah there’s the mainstream Japanese/Chinese/Thai/fusion restaurants all over Austin and Round Rock but nothing says good olé authentic Filipino food then a mom and pop store and shop. Unilocal was to the rescue again as there were two favorable reviews on here already and it’s on the road on the way to Fort Hood. I’ve been meaning to go but have always gave myself a mental excuse to not go(ie too tired, too far, can’t find it, etc). I finally found it while driving and if you weren’t looking you’d definitely miss it. It’s right at the southern edge of the busy Killeen business area and it’s on the south driving side of the highway. If you’re going south, just take the exit off Stan Schleuter Loop, go pass the traffic light and it’ll be on your right hand side(There’s a sign). If you’re going north, take the Stan Schleuter Loop exit but you have to U-turn yourself around to reach it. It’s a fairly small not spacious building and is just what I expected out of a Filipino store/restaurant. There’s a small dining area in front of you with the food served buffett style and they had every main variety of Filipino cuisine(pork abobo, dinuguan is what I got) and of course white rice. The store had all the basics to include chiracha sauce, banana sauce, patis, soy, and all those high sodium flavor packets a Filipino auntie would use to make her stews and soups… I got myself the arroz caldo mix s we’ll see how that goes! And to add a plus, there’s this car air freshener in a can that has a wax/candle consistency that I LOVE to use and can only find in oriental stores and definitely got myself a few… you can NEVER find this stuff at a regular car wash… if you’re Filipino or if you’re used to the Filipino culture and food, you’ll definitely feel that«pinoy» vibe here(The aunty who helped me even started talking to me in Tagalog and of course I told her eeeh sorry I don’t understand and she was pretty cool with it and changed her tanglish accent and spoke English just like that! lol) It wasn’t busy the lunchtime I went but I’m sure there’s plenty of Army folks and their families who drop by here especially those who’ve been stationed in the Pacific. I love having a little of the Pacific here in central Texas… I still have to try Mang Dedoy’s in Cedar Park and see if it has the same great food and products Turo has. Definitely will make future visits! SALAMAT!

Discovered this lil’ establishment on our many spontaneous trips«out of town» when we’d take I95 through Florence to get to Round Rock, Austin, or SA. It being much closer than the other only Filipino store in Killeen, we decided to stop in one day. THANKGOODNESS we did! The ladies are very welcoming & it’s always a very comfortable shopping/eating experience. They don’t have everything that the other store sells, but what they DO have that the other store doesn’t is a small buffet w/a few dishes that are always super tasty. I LOVE Filipino food and I can truly say that the dishes they serve are authentic and delicious! My faves: Laing, Mongo, Pinakbet, Chicken Caldaretta, Pancit & Shanghai Lumpia… all of which are the only dishes I’ve tried. They also do catering, which we never got around to doing but their prices are fairly reasonable. We have since relocated to the east(farrrr east: S). I am very excited about visiting family in Killeen and you bet I’ll be sure to visit this shop as often as I can during our visits.
