My third visit of the day and the only pure comic shop I saw. For every thing that’s stans this place is the opposite. Very well let and very clean open spaces shop with tons of comics. The players space in the back was amazing with lots of tables but there where very little in the way of gaming selections. I did see some great source books for d and d but no figures for sale. I was though truly impressed with finding a battletech intro box set. I would recommend this place if you want comics but not for games

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago for my son’s birthday present and the guy working was great. He could tell that I had never been in a comic book store before and he was very helpful. If I ever need to get something from a comic book store again I will go there first.

Are you in the Killeen/Harker Heights/Copperas Cove/Temple area of TX? Perhaps you’re stationed at Fort Hood? Do you have a love for comics, related collectibles and games, and friendly service? Then this is the place for you! AHC&G is one of two comics shops in the area. Not only is it 100x better than the other, but it’s just such a pleasant place to be. It’s quaint, but full of what you need. Basics, some good filler, and no real fat. A great selection of currently available comics is available on the main wall, and just in front of that are your standard boxed back-issues. PLENTY of trade paperbacks and graphic novels are available, and collectibles(like figures, statues, etc.) are shelved around the store. Subscription services are available to customers at no cost(with two minor exceptions regarding high priced items), making it easy for soldiers whose schedules don’t allow for consistent and frequent visits to get the titles they want without having to worry about them getting crammed into a mailbox. The best part of AHC&G is the owner. Earl is an extremely friendly person who knows his customers on a first name basis. He is polite, treats his customers with respect, and goes out of his way to make them happy. He is very knowledgeable about comics, and when he didn’t have an answer to a question I asked, which is a rare occurrence, he has always enthusiastically found one for me. I don’t much enjoy shopping, but I enjoy the time I spend in his shop looking for new titles and having good conversations. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Nice open layout. New comics stocked weekly. Staff makes weekly subscriptions. Owner will even email you on Sunday with the link to the website on what he ordered for Wednesday. Nice selection of older comics and graphic novels. Once the side room gets cleared up, a greater selection will be available. And compared to the other shops in town, apart from Hastings .99 rack, AHC has the best prices.
