Wow no character. I have to drive down to Walmart just 6 miles North. Each time I try to go in that have nothing. This place should go out of business real quickly. KmART MP7ON bYPASS IN kill DEVILHILLS will be out of business before 2017. Lets wait for Target. The people that work there are idiots and not human. This is a place where you get a job cause you cant work anywhere else. Its all rejects. The merchandise sucks and will not last but another 6 months. I love Walmart and never plan on going in ever again to Kmart. Don’t waste your time ever. Youll be happy at Walmart/ Sears and this place out of business.

Old, dirty and outdated. The good news is if you forgot to buy that thing in 1995 they probably still have it here.

I’ve been coming to this Kmart for years and the service gets worse and worse. I generally prefer Kmart to Walmart but I’d rather drive further and avoid this kmart. The other day we waited over 30 minutes to get a fishing license and had to call customer service three times to get someone back to the spotting goods area to help us. The people there are rude and it’s a miracle that it isn’t out of business yet.

Have to agree that this was the worst kmart on the planet. Came for a few forgotten items on vaca, trying to avoid the Walmart down the street… Should have gone to the Wally World. After searching for beach chairs and finding no one to help, located in sporting goods(vs with the giant beach chair display up front). Stood in line for(not kidding) 20 minutes to check out while ONE person checked out the couple screaming at their kid in front of me. Do yourself a favor and drive to the walmart — never thought I’d say those words.

Wow– They have a lot packed into this store and some deals as well! We don’t have Kmarts here but when we did they weren’t as good as this one. Found some cool stuff at a great price!

Appalling store. One cashier on duty, another member of staff taking sales at customer services. We were told that we could ring up at either electronics or jewellery if we had less than 10 items, only to walk half way across the store to find the station empty. It’s like a ghost town in there and now I know why. It appears the locals give it a wide berth. You should too.

Nah… not a big fan of Kmart in general, but this one is not the worse one on the planet. Every time I go into one I feel like I’m in a time warp back to my childhood in the 70’s, but without the blue light specials. Oh how I loved a good blue light special when I was a tike shopping with my parents. Not to mention the old style restaurants with the wheel that you spun that could earn a FREE hot fudge sundae. Man I scored me a lot of sweet deals in the day. This store has served the Outer Banks directly off the highway and one block off the beach road in Kill Devil Hills for decades. I am sure that it has seen better days without the competition of a newer Walmart several miles down the road. On this particular day I was looking for a good deal on an air mattress while away from home. It was a good enough deal in their ad to get us in the door. At the same time I wanted to avoid a crowd at the big box in Kitty Hawk. Boy did I avoid a crowd, it was pretty dead on a Saturday after Thanksgiving which had me scratching my head. So I was in the store about 30 minutes, wandered around looking for what I needed without seeing one employee. I’m talking not a single staff any where in the entire store except up front. I give them credit for have a huge force at checkout, but no one on the floor… Really! I counted ten to eleven at cash registers. I found the mattress and kudos to them for having it on the shelf at the great promised price. The checkout itself was not remarkable. The clerk had no energy and first question to me «was I a member». Member of what? Well Kmart has some type of rewards that I know nothing about and don’t care to. There was no warming up of this gal either, she definitely was suffering from a lack of motivation to exhibit any level of service. Oh, she did say have a good day… brownie points! Kmart stores remain as iconic as the blue light specials of the 70’s. So if your looking for a retro shopping experience with merchandise still on a peg boards, a level of customer service next to zilch, with some good deals sprinkled in, this may be your ticket.

Horribly organized. Disinterested and lazy staff. Products are cheaply made without a reduction in relative cost. Pathetic attempt at consumerism.

Open 24 hours! When you lived down here for a summer and often needed the essentials at all hours this was the spot to hit. The people were nice too, but it was much more of a convenience thing. O to be in college again! :)

I’m not reviewing the store, just wanted to review this place because it’s the only place I could find in the Outer Banks that had an internet café for people to use. And bonus, it’s free! It’s not really a café, just a bank of computers that you can use, there’s a thirty minute limit but it’s free and it was super convenient. Thank goodness for Kmart.
