Came here for early bird dinner, we had a party of 9. They told us it would take 25 minutes to be seated, it took less than that. Our chef wasn’t as animated as some, but I preferred that. The shrimp was very good, filet mignon wasn’t anything special, I wished I would have just got the sirloin instead. Soup and salad were great. Rice had some crunchy grains but was acceptable. Veggies were great. There was some confusion at first as to my friend’s dietary restrictions, but they were very good and fast about redoing her meal so she could eat it. Portion sizes were quite generous. Overall, good!

Sushi was good, teppanyaki was flavorful. The grill performance was not that great but our chef was very nice. Waitress service was good. Overall the place was good but would need a bit better for 5 stars. Will probably go back again in the future.

Love the environment. People were really friendly. Food was cooked well. Brought home leftovers and ate it the next day and it still tasted great! A little tip, if you get the restaurants of NC magazine free which we got while walking along the boardwalk, you can get 20% off their hibachi entrees!

Fuji is my jam. I get pumped to eat here. The sushi is world class. The staff are the sweetest and funniest people. Great place for laughs, family, and friends!

Best Asian food on the Outer Banks! The service was so warm and hospitable. Our waitress’s name was Ellen and she was so friendly(and cute!) and took great care of us. The sushi we had was creative and fresh. It’s family friendly and fun. Good price for a large portion.

Off season or in, this restaurant gets my vote for«must check out in OBX» I dropped in and was thoroughly impressed with the service, quantity, quality, freshness of product and yes the price. Could go further on décor, but hey, I came for the food

Wow! We ate here and what a joke. We had the Hibachi lunch special and we were the ONLY ones in the entire place. The waitress made us wait despite this(Seriously. NOONE is coming). Our hibachi dude looked grizzled and like he had just rolled out of his bed a few minutes before serving us. Top of it all, the food was kind of bland and the whole«presentation» of cooking the food was very uninspiring and scripted.

I don’t have much to elaborate upon. The food was good, and had a pleasant experience. I had the Black Jack roll, which had a line-up of ingredients that couldn’t go wrong. Super loved that roll.

I have ordered sushi to go from here for the last few years when we are in the area. I usually get the spicy trio(spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy California roll) and love the sushi! Last night, I ordered the KDH roll(white fish, crab, avocado, and cream cheese). Delicious! I look forward to reordering!

We visit Fuji every time we are up the beach. Great place to bring the kids. Very entertaining and fresh/delicious food! Easy parking and access from the Bypass. Really appreciate how kind they are to the kids and welcoming!

Well I will start by saying my boyfriend and I have a small obsession with hibachi! We’ve been to several hibachi type restaurants all over the country. Fuji Japanese is one of our favorites. The service was superb and our cook was outstanding! He was funny, kind, and very professional. We had the filet mignon and chicken hibachi. The filet was out of this world a perfect medium! I can’t say enough about the food. You should really give it a try. The Beginning till the very end was a wonderful time and memorable experience.

We’ve been here 3 times and each time it was great. Our cook picked up on out mood and didn’t over do it in the showmanship area, which was much appreciated. All the food was great and the tea was good too. I would easily rate this as in my top 5 of Japanese hibatchi experiences. I highly recommend it.

Even louder than our kids. It isn’t the best sushi or hibachi I’ve had. They did accommodate my husbands no dairy. They were out of kids cups that was advertised on menu. I think this place used to be a fast food restaurant and maybe cannot handle noise? Staff was very friendly. Seafood seemed fresh.

Entertaining dinner. They were able to accommodate our large party of 12 too. Habachi was good and more than enough food. I also had a speciality roll and sampled another and both were outstanding though I doubt they are using locally caught seafood. Only complaint was that the place was very hot. They had 4 grills going and the air flow through the restaurant was very lacking. One of the people I was with had to leave and sit in the car with the AC on to cool down.

Absolutely the worst tasting Japanese steakhouse we have visited. The early bird is only available with a coupon so pick one of those up. The chicken teriyaki came with maybe 1c rice which was rather bland. We were at the end of the chefs portioning’s, which meant we both received less chicken and rice than the rest of the table. There were no appetizer shrimp, no big deal but it was odd. The mushrooms and broccoli weren’t cooked thoroughly. I would have gave one star but the waiter was pretty decent, the soup and salad were sub par, the chef at least put on a good show, and the sushi/sashimi combo wasn’t awful.

Fuji is a little rough around the edges when viewed from outside the building, but don’t be discouraged — it is a decent Japanese hibachi restaurant. Bonus points for being the only OBX option. We go as a family and have a great time. The chefs are good with kids and make the entire meal entertaining. The hibachi food is standard fare. The sushi is good but not great. I would rate Fuji three stars if not for how much fun our kids have. The lunch specials are priced well and the portion sizes are more than adequate.

This is our third year here. We do not do this type of meal at home. So it is very fun to do on vacation. The kids get the hibachi. The filet mignon is very good. Parents get the sushi. Sushi is great. My favorite is the Yama one — spicy tuna that is lightly deep fried. The chefs do a great job with the entertainment and cooking. We plan to come here every year on vacation. I recommend going earlier than 6:30 if you have a large group.

This is a very typical Hibachi Restaurant. The food is good, the«show» with the cook is always fun, and the prices are reasonable. We’ve had meals here a few times over the years and never had a bad experience. Good place to go if you want something different from the other restaurants in the area.
