On The Rock Catering

Our friends Heidi & Andy rented a beautiful house on the beach in Kihei on Maui and On The Rock Catering provided the food for the celebration dinner for their 10^th wedding anniversary. The food was absolutely amazing for a group of over 30 people, which is not an easy task. The appetizers were to die for — ahi tuna cups, et al. The dinner was equally amazing with pork, chicken, short ribs (so tender and to die for) and plenty of great sides. The guys were SOOOO friendly and professional. If you need a caterer in Maui HIRE THESE GUYS!!! Everyone we ate with said the same thing.

Let me start by saying that I would give On The Rock Catering 10 stars if I could. They are that good. We hired the dream team of Chef Casey, Johnny and Josh to cater our 10 year wedding anniversary party at a private home in Kihei. They were an absolute delight to work with – very flexible, professional and fun. The food was outrageously good — -in fact it was the best meal we had on the island. I would highly recommend On The Rock Catering for anyone who appreciates good quality food, people and service. They are worth it!

Last night my Husband and I were treated to, by far the best meal we
have ever experienced! I say experience, because that is what it was!
Chef Casey takes so much care in the preparation and presentation
of his dishes. He truly has a passion for what he does and it is clearly
demonstrated in the delivery of the food we were served!
I had the opportunity to watch him in the kitchen, and he is immersed
in his work. He really doesn’t make it look like work, it’s what I
would call, «Art!»
His partner, Johnny pays great attention to detail, in addition the two
are very personable, and work well together in making your dining
experience a delight and memorable!
In our opinion, Chef Casey and Johnny have the market cornered in
the world of Catering!

Our caterers cancelled a couple days before our event, luckily we came across ORC — Life savers! Chef Casey put together a great menu last minute and we couldn’t appreciate it more. Great guys, everyone loved the meal! Highly recommend.

On the rock catering helped me with my going away party. Chef Casey made the most amazing dishes that included local ingredients that made me sad to leave the island. Like the poke sesame crisp. Omg I still have dreams about it. The braised short rib literally melted in my mouth. Johnny decorated with a nautical theme which was fitting for my sail away. A hui ho, I can’t wait for the next time!

I was especially impressed by this company. Huge variety of dishes, with tasty fresh ingredients – such a relief! (Lets just say you often get stuck in the Costco world on Maui – but this catering company is dramatically different). Nothing was processed, which I am big on, from salad dressing to crackers, it was homemade. High caliber cuisine. I asked the hosts, and found out the head chef has crazy credentials, e.g. French Laundry. Service moved smoothly. I recommend the handmade pasta, and my favorite was braised short rib.

My boyfriend and I attended an On the Rock catering event that was to die for! Great view with great people. Johnny was an amazing host. He made sure everyone had a fabulous time. Chef Casey’s food was unreal, delicious, innovative, and creative. I would recommend On the Rock for any special occasion. They are super friendly and professional. Thank you guys for a wonderful evening!

My Husband and I just got married in Maui on 5÷24÷2014. We are from the Santa Cruz Mountains, so this was a destination wedding. It seemed like everything went wrong in the planning department. To give you an idea– the store ordered the wrong dress (i didn’t get my dress till hours before we boarded the plane), and my husband and I were very sick. When I think back to our wedding, the only thing that went without a hitch, was the catering.
Communication was great. Personalities were fabulous. Menu was AHHHHMAZING. They did an ahi poke bar for apps, that people devoured. I can’t even describe how good everything was, including this soy bean salad they did. YUM! They made a teriyaki tri-​tip that people are still talking about. The chicken was moist and to die for. The pulled pork sliders were seriously the best I have ever had, and all the sides they made (potatoes and asparagus) were cooked perfectly. Everything was cooked perfectly. I was really looking forward to leftovers, and I am not a leftover kinda girl.
I love to cook, and consider myself a bit of a food critic (even though my friends and family just say I’m kind of a bitchy food snob lol). I truly do appreciate good food. These people blew me away. From presentation to taste to texture to smells… they nailed it. All I can say is thank you On The Rock Catering for making our wedding so amazing and memorable. Now I’m hungry.
