Service was the worse I have experienced. I gave it 3 tries and it did not improve. Our server argued with us as to if Salisbury Steak had gravy or not. If you can guess we ordered on and there was no gravy on it. Asked for ranch 6 times still no ranch to be seen.

So below mediocre. Grabbing a beer is the only reason to go here. The mixers are weak, food incredibly horrible and I don’t feel right critiquing the band. No hot water in men’s room(red flag). Other red flags: Freezer burnt carrots, Hard rice, Way high prices for crap, I could go on but just want to go home and take a shower. The waitress was very nice and the place is very roomy.

This place has a lot of potential. The open air seating is nice. Being on the second floor helps with the view. The first problem is that the service is mediocre at best. It is slow. They are not rude, but they are not necessarily good at their jobs. The food is lacking. The nachos were bad and over priced. There was hardly any cheese. They did a bad job of getting the toppings spread through out the stack of chips. After we ate the top chips we were left with plain tortilla chips. This place could be so much more.

I’d have said 2 stars, but the waitress put quite an effort into it, so upped it to a 3. Stopped in for lunch on the last day of a 2 week vacation(8th one in 10 years, I really need to move here), staying at a condo within walking distance. We had our two kiddos with us, of course, and even though this place is pretty much a dive bar, the kids were well tolerated. The waitress brought over some crayons and paper for them, and they kitchen split a burger into two plates for them. The menu is mostly burgers, and we really had a hankering for a fish burger, which wasn’t on the menu. But they do have a blackened mahi wrap, so we asked the waitress if they could deconstruct the wrap and put it on a bun — and they obliged nicely. So, 2 for 2 on the special requests, and the mai tai was tasty and strong, so 3 stars, even though it’s pretty divey and the food was meh.

We’ve been coming to Kihei for over 12 years now & have seen many restaurants come & go. When we first tried LuLu’s a few years back, we liked it, but mainly for the atmosphere of the upper-deck open area. But the service & food have NEVER been good. Our trip this year proved that even further. We stop

Overall I think we enjoyed the open air, casual atmosphere and friendly service more than the food. My husband wanted to try a Maui Cattle Co. Burger and not every where uses local meat. But Lulu’s does and it’s a generous ½ lb size burger. He said it was good, but wasn’t impressed I had the pulled pork dinner plate. The meat was nice and tender, but very fatty. It also said it was smoked and it certainly was not. It had good flavor. I asked for the bbq sauce on the side so I could taste the pork alone. The sauce had great flavor. I also asked for the mango chutney that they serve with the pork sandwich. The mango chutney and bbq together on the pork were really yummy! **Online menu not accurate** We were bummed to find out that they no longer serve sweet potato fries and not have as large of burger menu. They have some sandwiches that looked good, but they stop serving them at 5pm. My suggestion would be to check this place out at Happy hour so you can get a sandwich and take advantage of drink specials.

This restaurant/bar has a great location-2nd level across the street from the ocean, but it’s pretty touristy. Service was friendly enough and the happy hour drink deals were good, but it was just missing that«special» something to make it special.

I gave Lulu’s a shot at Redemption & this time around it was a much more pleasant experience. Maybe it was because I came at Happy Hour and drank 3 of their $ 3 Mai Tai’s. Most food does end up tasting pretty good after 3 of those tropical bad-boys. I am a Turkey Burger Aficionado & whenever I spot one on a menu, I usually order it. I substituted turkey on their typical cheese-burger and ordered the garlic fries along side. Everything was great & I will probably get it again the next time around. I was able to watch some basketball, keep dry from the violent rain & all at a pretty affordable price. My buddy had the coconut shrimp pu-pu’s and he said they were average.

Lu Lu’s was a place that provided a nice getaway from the early to mid-afternoon heat and humidity. The bar is located on top of a 2 – 3 story building just off the main road(South Kihei Road) a half block behind Kihei Caffe). It is a large sports-type bar with lots of open windows that provide nice cross ventilation. If you want prompt service, just park yourself at the bar. You can’t go wrong there. My bartender, Sue, was pretty cool. Happy hour here runs from 3pm — 6pm daily except for Wednesday(4pm — 6pm). They also feature a late night Power Hour from 11pm to close. Drink specials are $ 3 for well, Mai Tai’s, margaritas and Coors(draft). Steinlager goes for $ 2. Yeah, whatever on the Coors and Steinlager.
