I’m giving this a 3 because they need to put the presidents in order! My 9 year old is a huge president buff, so he begged to stop. The admission was a bit high for the size of the museum, but I knew he would enjoy it(hint: we found out afterwards there were discount coupons at the Grapes and Grinds next store, wish we had seen those before we went!) Anyway, we could not understand why they would put the presidents out of order in some places… Ford in with presidents from a hundred years earlier? If it’s supposed to be educational, please fix this! Some of the figures were amazingly realistic – I loved Dolly Madison, and the earlier presidents in particular were great. Poor Clinton looked rough! A mixed stop, but our little history buff did enjoy it.

My husband and I visited here yesterday. Being a history buff, I was excited about it. The tour winds around the facility. To get the most out of the experience, I recommend using the wand narration system they provide. As you go up to each exhibit, there is a number you punch into your wand and hold it up to your ear. There was lots of good information that I soaked up. The wax figures and setups are very intricate in detail. The gift shop is also very cool with lots of books, Christmas ornaments, and other knickknacks. I will say that I don’t recommend this to families with small children, because it takes a good hour to go through, and they could lose interest rather quickly.

The wax museum was an interesting tour of the presidents — and a few other important figures of their day. We had a 50% off admission coupon, which made the cost more in line with our level of enjoyment. It was interesting and the staff was pleasant. We probably spent 30 — 45 min at the museum.

Much more fun than I had expected. Much more fun for my daughter. She liked looking at the sculptures and actually learned about some of the Presidents. It was a rainy day so that got us out of the cold and frigid wind. The place was quiet, although on the off season, we were sort of surprised to find that it was just about the only place open in the area. It is definitely worth the stop.

It was fun. Kids enjoyed it. They each had their own narrators and thought they were cool. It cost a little more than I would have thought but a good time overall and worth it in the end.

It’s not the first wax museum i have been but this is really nice for a tourist spot in a small town. People tend to expect to much when they come here. C’mon, its a small town so, to me this museum is great. Most wax statues here are about presidents in American history, famous people and historical events. They are being kept in a good condition and worth seeing. There’s also a small gift shop that you can buy souvenirs. The staff is very nice and friendly. I would highly recommend it.

What we didn’t expect to find during our trip to South Dakota was a presidential wax museum. So we had to go in. I think it was about $ 10 per person for the tour, which is a self guided audio tour. You stand in front of a scene and push the button on your handset and it plays a few minutes of information about the president you’re looking at. If you are really into presidential history, you can go ahead and add a start to this. If you really don’t give a care, you can probably subtract one. The information is good, if a little too lengthy, and sometimes a bit preachy. We stayed in there for maybe an hour and made it through maybe 2⁄3 or ¾ of the presidents, before we were just kind of over listening to this lady. The quality of the wax figures is a little unbalanced. Obama, who’s standing in the lobby, looks nothing like Obama. Not a great first impression. But things get generally better once you go in. Reagan was another really bad one. But really, there were only a handful of laughable ones. I admit, it was pretty neat to look at a fleshed out, 3d model of these people you’ve only seen portraits of. Who knows if it’s what they actually looked like, but it’s a close as you’re likely to get to looking Lincoln or Washington in the eye. It humanizes these legendary figures, which I think is the point. Overall, if you have a passing interest in American presidential history, I actually think this is worth a stop.
