Beautiful place! Pricey but worth every dollar. We really enjoyed the ocean view from our room.

NOTWORTHIT. The Westin is far, far too crowded and over priced for what it is. Firstly, the location seems great on a map but when you arrive you realize how congested it is. The cruise-liners dock RIGHTINFRONT of the whole hotel so there is zero view of the ocean(even during sunset [the best time to be on Key West]). The hotel pool is flooded with kids at all hours. Beach passes on the adjacent island are booked out months in advance and the staff seem almost happy to deny you service. Very unhappy with my experience here. The real kicker is there are countless other places to stay around the area where the people and amenities are far nicer. ONLYSTAYHEREAS A LASTRESORT.

No reason to call this a resort; it is just a hotel. Not a slam against the place, just saying, they don’t have a beach; it is just not a resort. They need drop that from the name. Great location. Nice place. Good food. Great breakfast. Good exercise room. Good parking. Make reservations well in advance.

When we pulled up to the valet after a 5 hour drive, there wasn’t anyone there. My husband got out and found someone to take our car. No one opened the door or helped me out, but that’s ok– I’m guessing it goes along with the laid back atmosphere of Key West, so not a big deal. We checked in and we were upgraded to an ocean view which was nice. The room was a typical Westin room. The bed was very comfy as usual– gotta love those heavenly beds! The shower was Amazing with awesome water pressure!!! The ceilings needed some work as there was cracking and water damage, but again, not a big deal. The only real complaint I have is the noise level. I could hear every boat outside, and every person that walked by– and we were on the 3rd floor. Also, the air conditioner was so loud it sounded like it was going to explode. We didn’t come during the busy season, so I can only imagine the sound level of all the boats and people outside during that time. It wasn’t horrible, but noticeable, and not very good for sleeping. This is located in a great spot– next to the water and close to everything. :)

I understand that this place may have great food but the service was truly insulting. My family and I wanted to grab a drink before heading home. My sister tried her drink and didn’t like it. She mentioned that it tasted like a cheap mix. We all tried it and agreed that for the price, we expected more. When we told the waiter we were very sorry but the drink was poorly made, he was incredibly rude. He actually wouldn’t speak to us the rest of the evening. I can honestly say I have never felt more uncomfortable. We thought about staying for dinner but my sister felt so uncomfortable we left. Terrible customer service. There’s no excuse for treating customers poorly just because you assume they aren’t going to give you as much money.

My husband proposed to me in Sunset Key last year, this year we went on a mini honey moon there! It is so beautiful and romantic! The restaurant Latitudes is our favorite restaurant ever! We both love the waygu skirt steak, a must have for dinner! For lunch, I have had the lobster bisque and lobster salad! Both equally amazing. Everything I eat here has such great flavor. We LOVE this place!

Awesome experience! From the fun ferry boat ride — to linen covered tables set with silver, near the water’s edge… All service was prompt and efficient. We had lobster bisque, grouper sandwich and a lobster roll. All food was fantastic! 4 hours free parking at the Westin garage(very close to pier 29) covered lunch and an after lunch stroll.

This review if for the Latitudes restaurant. My boyfriend and I have now been for both dinner and lunch and have loved both of our meals. The atmosphere is very relaxing and romantic and the fact that you need to take a ferry to Sunset Key really adds to the experience. I am not into fruity drinks typically but their key lime martini is a must drink! It’s delicious. Everything we have eaten there has also been great.

Key lime martinis to die for. Had two great salads shared between 3. A Ceasar with white anchovies and something else so freaking good it was scary. Cucumber wrapped greens with perfectly grilled salmon. Split two orders of yellow find that was one of the best dishes I have ever had. Grilled and served On top of quinoa and sauté of spinach. Absolutely no idea how they cooked the quinoa. It was extraordinary. We had another round of martinis for desert. The setting outdoors and the ferry ride exscusite.

This review is for the restaurant at this resort, Latitudes. So, when I searched for Key West romantic dinner spots, Latitudes was on the top of every list. You must make a reservation and your reservation time is when the boat picks you up from the dock. From there, you set sail to the Westin’s private island. We made reservations for 5:15 so that we would be seated as the sun was setting. Upon pulling up to the beautiful island, I knew we were in for a real treat. Upon strolling in, we were escorted to our table. Because it was our anniversary, they gave us a front row seat to the sunset and we got to dine along the beach with our toes in the sand. The waiter was excellent and did a great job of ensuring that our wine glasses were never empty. As for the food, we started with the beef carpaccio. This is one of my favorite dishes and this version of it did not disappoint. Covered with capers, fresh parmesean, and arugala — it was SO fresh. I ordered the scallops for my main course and they were delightful and served with some really good risotto. My spouse got the lobster tail and, really, who can go wrong with lobster tail. This was truly an incredible way for us to spend our 1 year marriage anniversary. I look forward to returning to this piece of paradise sometime in the future, but will cherish the unforgettable experience for the time being.

I have to preference this review by saying I didn’t stay at The Westin in Key West. I actually just ate and drank at their sunset pier, but there’s no page for it on Unilocal. The sunset pier has probably one of the best views near Mallory Square when you just want to sit and have a drink. You literally have the view of the sunset and are right on the pier. The location really can’t be beat in my opinion. The service was good and we were immediately brought menus after sitting down. There was no rush by the waitstaff for us to move once we were finished. Both my friend and myself ordered drinks and the lobster quesadilla appetizer. The drinks cost $ 8 each, which actually turned out to be a deal. I had the piña colada, which literally had a ton of rum in it. Normally the drink would remain white when mixing in the rum with the straw, well this one actually started to turn a golden since there was a ton of rum in it. Actually for the price the drink was a deal since it was so strong. Next we had the lobster quesadilla, which was awesome! The quesadilla was a bit pricey at $ 16 since it was on the smaller side, but it was delicious. Inside the quesadilla was lobster, caramelized onions, and cheese. The caramelized onions gave the quesadilla the best flavor. The plate also included fresh mango salsa that was also very good. If I was wanting to watch the sunset and have a drink, I would definitely stop here again.

Latitdues is located at a small island around 15 mins boat ride from Key West. Every hour there are twice departures for the shuttle boats. The restaurant itself belongs to The Westin Key West Resort & Marina, offering breakfast lunch and dinner. The restaurant is right next to the beautiful ocean with impeccable Gulf of Mexico views. Décor 4.6 The restaurant itself includes bar area, main dining room and al fresco dinning area. Enlarged windows that customer can see enjoy specatular ocean views. Service 4 Reservation in advance is required. Service is attentive. Food 3.8 Lunch Monique personally think lunch it’s better than dinner. We ordered lobster salad, pulled pork sandwich, lobster roll and chicken sandwich lobster meat mixed with mayo, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, hards and feta cheese. Mix everything together, you can taste of full mouth of deliciousness: the freshness of lettuce, the smoothness of boiled eggs and the crispness of bacon. Dinner Monique had boiled lobster tail main course for dinner. It was very bitter and not tasteful. Pork belly and salad were wonderuful appetizers. We also enjoyed lobster bisque very much with it very rich and fresh flavor.

Recently visited this restaurant on a trip to Key West. The view is amazing from start to finish. From the 10 minute boat ride to the beach front dining. The food was very good although not outstanding… but who cares when you’re steps from the ocean watching the sunset. Book reservations early and request a seat closer to the water. The Key Lime martini is a must… best in the area. What a great experience!

Latitudes is located on Sunset Key Island, so in order to get to the restaurant you need to be staying on the Island or make a reservation with the restaurant to take the launch. The boat leaves every 30 minutes and is air conditioned. We ordered the following: Yellowtail Snapper excellent New York Strip excellent although the veggies that went with it was under cooked Salmon excellent and huge portion Wagyu Skirt Steak one of the best Skirt Steak I have ever had Ceviche very good Beef Carpaccio excellent Roasted Beets very good addictive hot fresh bread. The service was spot on. The best meal we had in Key West. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is a must when you visit Key West. Firstly, the boat ride to Sunset Key from the Westin Wharf is beautiful, especially at sunset. Make your reservations well in advance because this time frame books quickly! It is definitely the most upscale restaurant in the Keys but worth every dollar and every bite. Firstly, the service was fantastic. I have a ton of food allergies and our waiter was so attentive. They use all fresh, natural ingredients, so making me a meal was effortless and done with pleasure. I had the Chicken under a brick which came with roasted turnips, potatoes, and carrots. It fell off the bone and had a simple, delicious flavor. Who knew chicken could be so good! My brother had the Wagyu steak with garlic mashed potatoes, goat cheese & corn cake, and romesco sauce. The little nuances of the dishes made them memorable and special like the little crispy fried onions on top of the steak and the honey and ancho chile crust. Definitely worth it! My mother had the filet and lobster tail surf & turf. It was so rich and delicious that she savored every bite. It came with a creamy polenta, asparagus, and a beurre blanc over the lobster. For dessert, my family shared a slice of the Key Lime Pie, and after sampling many throughout our trip, they claim it is the best in the Keys! Food allergy notes: There are quite a few Gluten Free options at this restaurant. Since they use fresh ingredients, they are willing to make substitutions and alterations to suit your needs. For other allergies, simply tell your waiter. I gave him my ENTIRE list and he accommodated every single one(shellfish, soy, egg, gluten, milk, onion, garlic, etc). A+++ for customer service!

This is one of the most beautiful restaurant I have been to, and I have been to a lot of places(aruba, barbados, greece, paris etc)… What makes this place so beautiful is the view and tranquility. Also it is not your typical dining on the beach, this restaurant is situated on a small island and it feels sooo secluded and quiet. We took a short 5mins ferry ride from the westin hotel to the sunset keys where latitude is situated. I made the reservation a month in advance and I specifically requested a table outside with a good sunset view and the restaurant totally delivered! I think they gave us one of the best table that night. The food is mainly seafood, very fresh. The main star of the night is the beignet… boy they were soooo delicious and generously filled with cream, they were one of the best I ever had! This place is a must when you vacation in key west! I would love to go back and it would be so nice to stay at the resort on sunset Keys… Maybe when I win the lotto that is…

DH and I dined here on a recent trip to Key West. We enjoyed a brief water taxi ride to the private island and were immediately whisked into a beautiful dining room with a gorgeous view. We enjoyed a smart cocktail while watching the sun set and surveying the menu of what we might like to enjoyed for our dinner. I had a difficult time deciding what I wanted, so I opted for a number of appetizers instead so I could try a bit of everything(as can see from my photos). I had the caesar salad with white anchovies, the cerviche-style seafood salad(can you say octopus???) and an incredible jumbo grilled shrimp(2 shrimp) served over a grilled corncake and a type of remoulade sauce. Each dish was better than the one before it and beautifully presented. DH ordered the seared sea scallops, which were served in an almost like ravioli style(judge for yourself from the photos) DH seemed to like it just fine. But the bite I had, I did not care for. The other couple with us had the yellowtail snapper(loved it) and beef filet special(she did not care for the demi-glacé). The service was was exceptionally good and we were able to enjoy our meal while watching the sun set over the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico. We were not to order dessert as we were quite full from our meals. But the waiter overheard that is was the birthday of one member of our party and treated the table to complimentary dessert, which was a sampler of 4 of their popular desserts. Very kind. It was not the best meal I had in Key West, but it was certainly the fanciest and the loveliest and worthy of a special occasion.

Great place to have a tranquil breakfast on a private island. Reservations are a must, as they will check your name against the list before you hop on the ferry. Reservation times coincide with the times the ferry rides, every 30 minutes from the pier at the Westin resort. Latitudes books up fast, so go on at least a few weeks ahead of time. Prices aren’t cheap but pretty much in line with many other upscale restaurants, except here you are sitting in peace, with your feet in the sand under palm trees. The coffee is strong and good. They leave a big thermos on your table for a constant supply of hot goodness. Portions are small, so you might want to order some sides or a bunch of plates and go family style. The buttermilk pancakes are fluffy and moist but you only get three small pancakes and no sides. A better choice, if sweet is your thing, is the French toast. Stuffed with cream cheese and berries and crusted in crushed corn flakes, it is sweet, crunchy and creamy all at the same time. Delicious, but it would be way better if they used ricotta or mascarpone instead of cream cheese. $ 15 per person for a light breakfast is pretty high but what you’re really paying for is a free ferry ride and the ambience.

Latitudes on Sunset Key has probably the best ambiance and scenery in all of Florida. The boat ride was short but beautiful, the service was very good and there is not a bad table in the restaurant. The wine list was good not great. The apps we ordered were the Tuna Crudo(A+)and the bacon and eggs(A)(really fatty!) For dinner we ordered the Scallops(B+), the NY Strip(A+), the Salmon(A+) and the Yellowtail(A). For desert, look no further than the beignets(A+++). Cost is pretty high, but if the sunset is right you will forget about the pain in your wallet! I promise!
