Salute On The Beach

We were recommended this restaurant when we arrived at Key West. It was an easy walk from our condo. The setting was beautiful, right on the beach. The food and service was great. The food was amazing. We had their salads and my son had their burger. We even went back the next night for dinner. What a great family place to eat. You will not leave their hungry.

Very nice option in Key West with a water view. Good service and reasonable prices for Key West. The food was good. Everyone in our group seemed to like their selections. The grouper special that night was delicious.

Not your typical beach restaurant! Great food, healthy choices! Gazpacho is the bomb! Grass fed beef and locally caught fish! Love this place even if the beach is not my destination!

Excellent. Great prices and good food very friendly service. We felt as we we were locals. The Pina Colada and mussels were my favorite. The complimentary bread was a classy touch. Everyone enjoyed this place I could see the kids on the beach and the pier lit up, as we sat and relaxed with a cool Atlantic Ocean breeze. Another reason Key West is Paradise.

Salutes is a very cute place located right on Higgins beach. One of the major perks of eating here is the ocean view and salty breeze. They also have indoor seating if you prefer A/​C.
We came here for lunch and ordered the Yellow Snapper sandwich and a burger. The Snapper (we had it blackened) was delicious! The bun was a little large in ratio to fish size so we just ate the fish no bun. The burger is made with meat from their farm… so organic people you will love this place. Both sandwiches came with potatoe salad… this may have been my favorite thing I ate here.

Yummy drinks, delicious food, great staff, and a view of the beach. Couldn’t be happier with this find. Seems to be a favorite of the locals which I love.
The peel and eat shoring were super fresh and the snapper salad was on point. Definitely going to come back to this place next time.

Awesome food and drinks off beacb. We had a new server so the service was not great. However, the food compensated that! Definitely worth the try! It truly is the best in Key West

Picturesque. Location, location, location. It’s right in front of the beach, there’s tables inside and outside. It’s casual. The seafood is on abundance on their menu but nothing really spoke to me. Tbh, the scenic beach backdrop and fitting layout of this place is what makes it so appealing. Also, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and solid drinks. Post up here, grab a few mojitos and then play some beach volleyball or swim around on their pristine shores. Beach is literally steps away…

Excellent food! Blacken mahi sandwich and stone crab claws with that key lime dipping sauce. And you can’t visit without a slice of the key lime pie, the meringue was five inches tall! And the atmosphere sitting right there in the beach! Nice!

Best food thus far on the island! Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive! Outside of the building is deceiving for the type of food they serve. Wish we had found this place three nights ago… probably would’ve eaten there every single day! I recommend the filet, linguine and muscles or the special… tonight was fresh caught grouper. Everything was outstanding of and of course don’t forget the key lime pie… Out of this world!

I had the Shrimp Salad on top of a green salad, a pepsi and one half slice of the key lime pie. The portions were very generous. The shrimp salad was seasoned very well. You couldn’t really see the salad dressing but whatever it was it was yummy.
I was not totally fond of the merengue type topping on the key lime pie but the pie itself was great!
Our server was very nice and very knowledgeable about the menu.

Hit this place after the insanity of Mallory square for a late night bite. Our server Blake was on point, fun and attentive, provided us some great recommendations off the menu. I had the scallops, which were wicked good, and served up with a mango salad that was just perfect against the nicely spiced scallops. My wife had the salmon, perfectly spiced. The setting on the beach was so peaceful and relaxing for our anniversary celebration dinner.
I’m kind of craving more of those scallops about now…

Just came here for dinner it was our first time at salute! Salute is so cute located right on the sand great for lunch/​dinner! We ordered the calamari. It was some of the best we have ever had. The only reason why I am not giving 5 stars is because it was my birthday and our waitress said she would give us a slice of key lime pie for my birthday! … Then wound up charging us :/​weird. Not really a happy bday. But delicious probably was a misunderstanding. Besides that YUM go here!!!

Stone crab claws. Sautéed calamari is very tender. We had both dinner specials: Grouper with sautéed spinach and a Seafood cream concoction rolled in pasta sheets. All very well done. We got there early (5:30) with no reservation and seated immediately. But I would suggest you make a reservation because it filled up very quickly. I was a bit shocked our crab claws were $ 39 for 4 claws, but I’m told that is normal? Okay but that’s a bit much for my budget and will skip those next time, but they were very good. You decide if you want to pay the price :)
Would suggest to the restaurant to serve drinks with coasters that catch the moisture that runs off the drinks when the glass sweats. We had to mop up little rivers of water that eventually ran into our laps.
Sitting on the patio viewing the ocean and Higgs beach is a bonus!

Really can’t beat the view. We recieved a very friendly greeting as we walked in off the beach. Their hummus was very good served along side some kind of tomato olive salad. I ordered one of the specials Grouper with orzo pasta and sauteed spinach. Husband got Hanger steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was prepared well and was very tasty. Other then the weather being a bit chilly (64^) everthing was great.

A friendly neighbor restaurant (same owner as Blue Heaven), positioned beachside alongside the volleyball courts on Higgs Beach, this restaurant offers an eclectic Italian American fusion menu.
There are daily specials depending on the fresh seasonal catch as well as what’s in stock. Offering pastas, salads, soups and more, so there is something for everyone. This is not a five star culinary experience by any means, but the service is terrific, the view is outstanding, and it is a nice place to kick back and unwind with some good food and nicely prepared fish. If I were to pick a time, I would say lunch or during sunset.
As far as pricing, in my opinion it is on the high side for the type of dishes prepared. It would be nice to have a locals family place a little more reasonable for a change. On the other hand, the portions are large, so you won’t walk away hungry.
I have been a regular patron to this restaurant many times through the years, so I will give you the skinny on my personal recommendations:
— Salads (My favorite) — all their salads are awesome as is the accompanying freshly made citrus vinaigrette — I recommend adding a piece of snapper or shrimp to any of the salads offered. You can get it blackened, grilled or sometimes there is panko or other seasonings depending on the special of the day
— The caprese salad with a side of grilled shrimp is yummy as a main course
— Pasta and Meatballs — this is a basic dish. You will need to request extra sauce for sure. My husband is happy with it, but if you are a pasta fanatic and Italian is in your bloodline like me, it wouldn’t be my first choice.
— Linguini and Clam Sauce — A-​Okay
— Same masterful Key Lime Pie with the tower of meringue.
There is a full bar available with specialty refreshments to tantalize your pallet on a warm Keys day.

Salute is decidedly casual. It really feels more like a bar than a restaurant. It’s located right on the beach, so at night, you might see a few of the homeless denizens of the beach wander by, but they are harmless. I never understood the concept of choosing a restaurant with a seaside view at dinner anyway. You can’t even see anything at night!
We found service here to be prompt and friendly. We came in about 8 pm on a Tuesday night and were seated promptly on the beachside patio. Plenty of tables were still available, and the inside part of the restaurant and bar were totally deserted. However, by the time we were done, the place was really starting to fill in, and it started to get a bit loud. But the crowd included a birthday party, so it’s hard to tell if the noise was normal.
We had the roasted chicken and spaghetti carbonara. Both were excellent. The chicken was a whole breast on the bone, which is easily overcooked. But this was moist and well-​seasoned. The carbonara was rich, noodles were al dente. The shrimp in the pasta was very fresh, plump, and juicy.

My 2^nd time coming here. Good food and a beautiful view of the water as you eat. Majority of the seating is outside, so if it is not too crowded you can get a really good seat.
The server was wonderful. Very friendly and attentive to our needs. Very good service. Tip of the day: when we arrived the outside seating was full, but the lunch patio had plenty of seating. Server wanted to sit us outside in the back. It was hot back there and no view, we asked to sit on the lunch patio and she say us there. Very accommodating. :)
We started with the scallop appetizer. Server called it «heaven in a bowl.» Lol. I dunno about all that, but it was really good! I then had the Chef Denis Detalini. Whoa. It’s basically their take on macaroni and cheese with shrimp. Comes with a strawberry salad that was SUPER good.
Also, as expected… desert was super good too. Long story short… good service, good food, good drinks, and a great view. Yessssss!!!
