In search of a fine dining location on the water in Key West, I came across Latitudes online. I called(rookie mistake) about an hour before my requested dinner reservation time to see if they had any availability(unbeknownst to me people call months in advance for reservations here). I was told they were completely booked through the weekend for dinner reservations. I went online to see if I could book a table and was able to do so for the following evening. We met the ferry and were greeted by Isaak. He was confident and handled himself in a professional, graceful manor. He checked all members before permitting them aboard the ferry then politely joined the group. He was absolutely delightful to speak to for the short trip. When we arrived, we requested and were granted outdoor seating. The view is one in a million. Regretfully, we were too early to watch the sunset but will definitely be back for that on the next trip. The food was phenomenal! The steak initially came out over cooked but the waitress took the plate(even offered to take the other plate back to the kitchen to keep it warm as the new steak was being prepared) and a fresh plate was brought back out moments later and it was perfectly prepared. Our waitress, Melissa, was pleasant, helpful and attentive without being overbearing. It was priced in line with any other fine dining location and the view, alone, is worth the money! Check it out, you won’t regret doing so!

Celebrated my 50th birthday and 20th Anniversary. The concierge at our hotel made the reservations for us. The hostess knew it was a special occasion for us and sat us outside with an amazing view. Victor, our waiter, was awesome! He was attentive without being in our faces. He even said he would give us time between appetizer and entrée to enjoy celebrating our anniversary. When it came time for dessert, he brought it out with sparklers and took our picture. We enjoyed the tuna tartare appetizer, the yellowtail and grouper for entrees and the bread pudding for dessert. All were delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food is top notch. We ordered the shrimp appetizer which was only two shrimp, but they were amazing. Honestly, I was worried about the portion, but the flavor and the size of the shrimp made it worth while. The tuna tartar appetizer was good. The wontons were a bit greasy tasting. The scallops were mouth watering ND every bite was exciting. The seafood pasta was full of fish but paled in comparison to the scallops. The chocolate dish was amazing but the key lime pie was overdone. The nutmeg? Made it taste like a holiday pie ND was rather disappointing. The cucumber basil cocktail was perfectly refreshing and very well made. Pricey at $ 200 for 2 but that was with the the tip. Compare able to Maestros in Los Angeles for taste. Atmosphere is 100xs better.

Dinner tonight was absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere, service and food combine to make this a very memorable dining experience. A few quick notes that may be of value. First — Latitudes only takes reservations so plan ahead and call about a week out. Second — to get to the restaurant, there is a ferry that departs from dock 29 behind the Westin Hotel. Parking is a premium so if you are not staying at the Westin — recommend taking a cab. Arrive ten to fifteen minutes at the dock before your scheduled reservation. The ferry ride is about eight minutes long. We ate at the restaurant in late June and the breeze on the Island is cool so indoors or outdoors is nice. In addition, this is a very Gluten free friendly place if you have an allergy etc. Items on the menu are clearly marked and the staff is very knowledgable concerning their menu items.

After reading the mixed Unilocal reviews, I didn’t know what to expect. Well, we hit the place on the right day. Excellent food and great service. I had the special which was the Hogfish and my wife had the Saffron Crusted Grouper. Topped off with the Key Lime Pie. Tonight it is highly recommended.

this place is so romantic and delicious! you have to have some money in the wallet or rack up those credit cards cause it is pricey, but man is it worth it! i came here for valentine’s day and it was the most romantic scenery and the food was fabulous. the service was impeccable. you have to make reservations ahead of time because you need to get on their list to be able to ride their ferry over to the island. the service from the shuttle, to the hostess, to the server was just flawless. we ordered tons of mimosas that were delicious and refreshing. we ordered the cheese platter that was OMG amazing and totally worth the money. i ordered the lobster roll and soup, both tasted super fresh. if you’re trying to impress a special someone, this place is the place to go in key west!

My partner and I went to Latitudes for lunch because we couldn’t get a reservation for sunset, and overall, it’s some of the best food in Key West in a very relaxing atmosphere. I had heard about Latitudes before, but it was quite the journey to get here. You have to take a ferry from Mallory Square, and you can only get on the ferry if you have pre-existing reservations at the restaurant.(You can’t just walk up or go for a drink.) Also, people who are staying at this hotel are on the ferry. The view from this restaurant is amazing and it’s worth the trip over. I’m sure sunset is just as nice. All the tables face the water and it’s a very relaxing atmosphere because there are no tourists around and it’s not some crazy drinking place like some places in Key West. The prices are kind of expensive, but there are plenty of mediocre restaurants down in Key West who have this level of pricing in a much less interesting setting. I opted for the burrata cheese, which was extremely flavorful and very good. For entrée, I ordered the fish tacos, which were great. The fried grouper entrée was also very tasty. Overall, I definitely recommend a visit to Latitudes. It should be the highlight of your food experience in Key West for fine dining. You’re not supposed to walk around the hotel grounds, but when we went there there was no one there so they didn’t really have a problem with that. There’s also no one at the beach, but you can’t go to the beach if you’re not staying at the hotel. If you know you’re coming to Key West a few months in advance, make a sunset reservation at 5:45 or so!

Wow. Wow. Wow. My sisters Bachelorette party was in Key West so I was googling everything we should do(I should mention I live in Miami and have been to Key West numerous times) when all of a sudden BOOM private Island? Dining? Ferry!!! What is this mysterious private island you speak of? This place is amazing. The Service. The Food. The drinks. The view!!! GORGEOUS. This is a definite MUST do for a Key West experience. I must note that it is more $$$$ than $ but its worth it.

This was our fourth time dining at Latitudes. We came 5 years ago for our 25th wedding anniversary and were fortunate to have Michael G., as our server. I called to make the reservation a week ago and asked if he could be our server again. Completely thrilled when he came to our table and introduced himself. We explained who we were, he had served us before and why we were there, this time for our 30th anniversary. It was like seeing an old friend. He is the consummate professional that makes your dining experience amazing. My husband had the boar for his entrée. I had the skirt steak. Each cooked perfectly. Finishing with nothing less than the beignets, freshly prepared … With blueberry sauce. And not to mention the view. Simply stunning. We try to make this a stop each time we are here on Key West.

We were so. excited to return to Latitudes and share the experience with friends and family. The food was fine. Not as it was on the previous visit. The service was horrible. We have had better service at a drive through. At a restaurant such as this there is an expectation that the service be top notch. Out first visit the server was fantastic… partially why we returned. This visit… it was like the server was disinterested and not paying attention at all. 1. I ordered. a drink… it never showed up! Finally after watching tables reciev their drinks I advised the cancel.mine to which he replied sorry I forgot about it anyways. 2. Server was not at all attentive. 3. Check was wrong twice! First time i politely told him nothing on the check was what we ordered, then told him what we had. The sexond time i have no idea, lilely not paying attention… again. Needless to say not worth the effort for mediocre service, and food that was just fine.

Great sunset views for dinner that cannot be topped anywhere in Key West. You pay for that view in the meal for sure! Service has always been excellent on each visit but I’ve left somewhat disappointed in the meals each time. This past visit we both ordered the yellow tail snapper. It was overcooked and dry. Mine was barely edible. Don’t get me wrong the flavors and food pairings are great it just missed the mark of my expectations. The burrata appetizer was excellent as was the beet salad!

The island that Latitudes calls home is Sunset Key — it is probably the most viewed of the Florida Keys since the throngs of people gather to watch the sunset behind it from Mallory Square. Most are probably unaware that you can make a reservation to dine in the restaurant of this upscale resort. Most people that are in the know try to make a reservation just prior to sunset because the view is usually incredible from the restaurant. I wouldn’t know because I could only manage to get a lunchtime reservation where the service is less formal, but it would still be wise to wear something more classy than your cut off jeans and t-shirt with the holes in it that asks«Who farted?». Your reservation time is when you are expected to meet the ferry at the dock behind the Westin. For our late lunch, we enjoyed an outside table with a beautiful water view and had excellent service. They make interesting cocktails and have an extensive wine selection as you would expect. For our lunch my wife had the lobster salad, which she enjoyed very much — it was a large portion and she called it one of the best things she ate in the Keys. I wasn’t so lucky by ordering the fish tacos, which i found somewhat pedestrian and bland. The desert made up for my lackluster lunch choice — the island bread pudding was a pineapple coconutty delight, which I highly recommend. You will notice next to the ferry dock a nice stretch of beach enjoyed exclusively by guests of the Westin resort with comfortable lounge chairs, umbrellas and bathrooms. Like most other beaches in and around Key West it is incredibly rocky and you will need surf shoes to enjoy the water comfortably. Since it is for the exclusive use of Westin guests I would NOT recommend you make a detour to enjoy a beautiful afternoon on the beach and stay to see thee most incredible sunset to be experienced in all of the keys!

Basically the food is ok, but not for for the money The vibe is basically upscale tourist trap, and the food is it real good. The conch fritters are griddles and as tough and nasty as cooked octopuses. The lobster quesadillas are filled with more tough Asian mushrooms than lobster.

Our last night in Key West, I was looking for something special. I found a 6:45 reservation online for Latitudes and booked it, knowing that sunset would be around 6:35. The reservation time is when your shuttle boat leaves from the dock behind the Westin to take you to Sunset Key. Not wanting to miss sunset, I called the restaurant and was given a 5:45 dock time, so we could have a cocktail on the island and watch the sun set. The boat ride over was brief and fun. The restaurant itself is lovely. Open air seating that flows out into a part stone, part sand patio. Flaming tiki torches, palm trees and a perfect view of the departing sun. We had a round of cocktails at the bar, all of which were well prepared and watched the sun sink into the ocean. Dinner itself was perfect. Our waiter was very attentive, if somewhat soft spoken for my aging ears. The wine list was ample. As we were both having fish, a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc fit the bill. Bread came to the table and it was delicious, both plain and olive-filled. My wife and I generally share an appetizer and salad to keep the waistline a bay and lobster bisque and a savory Caesar salad were divided with pleasure. I ordered the grouper and my wife, the snapper. Both came, cooked to perfection. I have a sweet tooth, but had no room for dessert and even had some of my dinner boxed to go. The restaurant thoughtfully included a napkin and metallic colored plastic ware, in case I got the munchies on the boat ride back. The check came and I was pleasantly surprised. It was nearly 25% less than the«steak place» we had dined the previous night… and for far superior food. Perfect sunset, perfect dinner, perfect night.

SO happy to finally bump this restaurant to the 5 stars it deserves! Visited the restaurant again this weekend. Thankfully, no sight of that rude manager from last time anywhere. Coincidentally, it was raining on and off this time again, yet check in at the dock was a breeze. We took the shuttle to the island and checked in with the hostess at the restaurant. They actually had us sitting outside and we requested to change it. They promptly switched our table not only to one inside as requested, but to the best table(right by the picturesque window, dead center). Score! Everything was as good as I remembered it to be the first time. THEFOOD TASTINGOFBEETS I still didn’t try it, but my husband loved it. SHORTRIBROPAVIEJA Crazy good! This did not look like traditional ropa vieja, but the short rib came apart easily as if it was! Sitting atop a loose version of a mofongo(a little mushier, but still good), the short rib was full of flavor. It could have been the espresso demi it had below. Tiny pimentos and a guava sauce added to this dish to make it an overall hit. This should be moved to the entrée category! Outstanding. SEAFOODPASTA Key West pink shrimp, seared scallops, lobster, tagliatelle pasta, squash and zucchini salad. This dish was generous with the listed seafood. We could have easily shared, but as usual we tend to over order. Very good! SAFFRONCRUSTEDBLACKGROUPER Cooked perfectly throughout and with a potato napoleon. This one rocked as well. BEIGNETS Pastry cream filled, blueberry jam, and whipped cream. Very good. WHITECHOCOLATEBREADPUDDING It could have been a little hotter, but still incredible. You know it’s good when you can’t eat another bite of food, but still can’t stop eating the dessert. SERVICE Our waiter was great once again. He happily took our photos by the beautiful view and was attentive all night. The restaurant is still as beautiful as last time and in case you haven’t seen the photos yet, the view is not too shabby. I’m already plotting a third visit.

Wow. So glad a bartender at our hotel told us about this place. You have to take a short ferry ride over to the private island, but it’s well worth it. Incredible views. As for food, the Duck was amazing. The beets on the beet salad were huge! The Pork Belly was sooo good as well. And the Papa martini was really good, with touch of cinnamon to the flavor. Amazing views, fantastic service, awesome food. You can’t go wrong with this place when you’re in Key West.
