Ate here a couple of nights ago via a to-go order. A total waste of $ 89 and I’m considering asking for my money back. I’m not sure what the hype is. Lobster salad(for the roll) was watery and barely had any flavor. The bun was toasted on the griddle giving the roll that«greasy spoon,» nearly acrid, burned taste. I would swear the clam strips were from frozen. The tartar sauce was good. And the ketchup tasted homemade. But, the French fries were frozen crinkle cuts. Frozen! I couldn’t believe it. Why not fresh fries? I was really looking forward to eating here as I’d never had a lobster roll. If this joint is supposed to be worthy of a Triple D feature story then Guy must’ve been served a totally different meal. If I ever have another lob roll anywhere else I’ll ask for a sample of the salad first. Don’t waste your money, here.

Had no idea triple D had been here until I saw his signature on the black board next to the cashier/order counter. I had the lobster roll and it was big enough to share with my hubby. The lobster(salad) was served on a big buttery Texas toast and it was just okay. Meh! Wouldn’t come back here again for lobster roll. The meat looked pink so shame on me for ordering this. If this was supposed to be Maine lobster it was disappointing. I wont be ordering any more lobster rolls unless I’m visiting Maine… just saying.

The legendary DJ’s satisfied my giant Lobster Roll craving! I will say, after seeing them featured on Triple D, the experience was a bit underwhelming. I guess next time I’ll have to frost my tips, pull up in a red Camaro and bling up for the preferential treatment! After ordering at the counter, the Lobster Roll came out in no less than a minute. Spoonfuls of cold lobster on hot toasty bread; you really can’t go wrong here. The portions compared to other pictures seemed skimpy, and for a $ 20 roll(w/tip) I expected more. Regardless, the lobster meat was tender and not drenched in sauce. Even though the Lobster Roll was delish, I left with a funny taste in my mouth — figuratively. Maybe my expectations were too high. I’d eat here again, but for the price I’d strongly consider reflecting over your budget for essentially, street food.

Done by Triple D… So who am I to criticize– but who cares so here we go. Clam Strips good and fresh. Mahi Tacos good but needed more slaw. Shrimp Basket a positive experience but the head turner was the lobster roll and the back room ambience. If you have the chance and want something new give this place a try– it is definitely worth the look, taste and overall food… A Key West Choice

Get the steamed clams as they are oh so goood. Tacos are decent(shrimp one was better than the fish) and well sized. You get three decent hunks of fish/shrimp in each. Thought the fish needed more seasoning though as its white fish in need of more flavor. Clams stole the show tho. Garlic oil mmmm. Dip everything in there. Seemed that the lobster roll is a hot item here, would probably give that a try next time. Seating is available in the back and is decorated like a surf shack. Hot as balls if you aren’t in the shade tho. Ya’ll need a homemade hot sauce.

One of our favorite stops in KW! Clam chowder is some of our favorites. Great people watching with seating facing the street.

Service was very fast and it was fun to sit on the front patio and people watch on Duval Street. We got the Lobster Roll(delicious) and fries(very delicious).

We couldn’t get enough and actually ate here TWICE during our stay in Key West. I won’t lie, it’s a bit pricey but completely worth it! The lobster rolls had the perfect meat to bread ratio, basically packed with meat. Limited seating but great people watching if you can get a spot out front!

Good, solid steamed clams for a nice, light dinner… garlicky, buttery and juicy with garlic bread to dip into the broth… slurp, slurp… don’t forget to check in and save 10%! If you’re lucky enough you can grab a stool seat in the front(very limited, maybe 6 in all) and watch the shenanigans on Duval St.

It’s in a great location on Duval St. Seating is limited. We ordered the Maine lobster roll, steamed clams, conch fritters then the fish and clam strips the following day. Yes, we’re foodies like that! Our top favorite is the lobster roll. It’s loaded with lobster meat on a soft bread. It was huge enough for me to share it with my sister. The steamed clams with garlic sauce is our next favorite. The sauce is awesome! The conch fritters I have nothing to compare since it was my first time to eat it. The fish and clam strips are ok. I find the French fries that came with it too salty. You can switch it to a coleslaw. Service was fast and they were accommodating even though we came like 10 minutes before closing.

My FAV place for cracked conch closed a few years ago, and while conch fritters are everywhere, I’m not much of a bread fan… so that wasn’t really an option to switch to. Luckily, we have locals who recommended checking out DJ’s. Glad we did! While it looks like a hole in the wall(’cause it is), they do have very good cracked conch. The wife, not being quite the fanatic I am, tried their mahi taco(which was big enough to serve a family)…and thought it was pretty awesome too. Definitely a great find on Duval!

The food here is fine but not necessarily a «must experience». Another on my list of Triple-D Hot Spots and a great location for a dive. We had a Lobster Roll and Conch Fritters and, in my opinion, the experience of a Maine lobster roll is a novelty. I would prefer a fresh, local, original dish than a re-creation of a classic that is 2500 miles away. The lobster roll tastes fine but I would put the one I used to buy on Greenwich and Warren Streets in Tribeca in front of this roll. The lobster roll is served ona garlic butter roll which is nice; less mayonnaise. The patio in back is a nice place to eat and here is my primary gripe. They play good music but the speaker in the back is not very high quality. With the music up load it sounds terrible. Sorry Guy but, when you put this place on the map, they didn’t invest in anything but novelty T-shirts.

I love shellfish. I also love Guy Fieri. Ergo, DJ’s Clam Shack was top of my list on my recent visit to Key West. Came around 3pm on a weekday and had no problem getting my order in. I was torn between the lobster roll and the conch fritters, but figured the latter was the way to go given I hadn’t ever tried conch fritters. They were so good. I’m talking big, flavorful pieces of conch stuffed inside what almost resembles hush puppies. They weren’t greasy or overstuffed with breading. And the portions were huge — a serious bang for your buck! Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Great lobster roll. Almost got the super sized but the normal was plenty. Conch fritters are good but nothing special. Cracked conch are great. Crab cakes are really good. Nice and spicy. All that goes good with a nice cold corona!!!

Before coming out to Key West, I bookmarked a few places to check out and DJ’s was one of them. Yup this place was on Triple D. After our early afternoon tour of Key West, we decided to grab a quick snack at DJ’s. We ordered lobster rolls with fries and fried conch fritters to share. Seating here is very limited. It rained a bit the day but luckily the rain subsided while we had our lunch. Lobster roll was good but not outstanding. They definitely do not skimp out on the lobster meat. They give you plenty. Still searching for that awesome lobster roll though. The fried conch fritters were very delicious, first time having them. I did check in to this place but forgot to mention the 10% off so don’t forget!

This is the best place to grab and eat a Lobster roll, their speciality, and it is true that they know how to do it well. I tried the lobster roll in a different restaurant and no comparison. It was tasteless and tasted only mayonnaise, while here the lobster was truly tasty and it was not overloaded with mayonnaise. Even the bread was delicious, soft and buttery. I felt satisfied paying $ 13 for the roll in this place! And you don‘t need to have the extra loaded, more expensive version of the lobster roll, as the regular one comes already stuffed! The place is small and not so clean, but is worth to come for a quick lunch(there are more tables in the rear). Their coleslaw salad is also delicious! Is worth the price!

I saw all the great reviews on this place and apparently it was featured on «Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives». I ordered the lobster roll and the clam chowder. The lobster roll was good-sized with generous pieces of lobster. The roll was toasted and buttered nicely. The lobster had just enough mayonnaise and bits of celery. The clam chowder was rich and creamy with big chunks of potato. I was tempted to order the fried clams, but I knew I couldn’t eat all that and I need to watch my cholesterol. Damn! You can save 10% on your order with a Unilocal check-in. There isn’t much seating in the front or back so hopefully you arrive at a time when it isn’t too crowded.

This is the first restaurant I checked out on my trip to Key West after a long drive from Miami. My friend and I shared these items: 1) Overstuffed lobster roll(I’ve had better and just because there’s a lot more of something doesn’t make it better – I’d rather have a regular stuffed lobster roll that is mind-blowing) 2) Conch fritters(not to-die-for, but I guess worth trying – really just tastes like something fried) 3) Local beer(good enough) The meal was underwhelming from all the hype this joint gets on Unilocal.I mean, I know it was on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives but probably just for the quaint/classic vibe. I suppose this place is worth a try but I think it’s a tourist trap. You won’t regret coming here, but you probably won’t be begging for another visit after.

Great tiny spot for a light dinner or snack and to watch the crowds go by on Duvall Street DJ has seating for about 7 people at counters facing the street. And as you eat you are right there at head level, so you can’t be shy about someone watching you eat. Go up to the window and order, they will call your number for you to pick up They sell local caught seafood with sides of either fries or cole slaw. You get a big serving of fries, but a small Dixie cup of slaw. The mahi tacos had three large pieces of crunchy breaded fish on two large flour tortillas. The sauce was just spicy enough to have kick but not overpower the fish. For $ 13 with fries was an easy share for dinner. Hubby thought his clam chowder was the best he had had in a long time. He also enjoyed the large tender shrimp that was butterflied then battered fried. Small limited menu and that’s fine– do what you do best.

Super leckere Lobster Rolle. Sehr zu empfehlen. Man sitzt direkt an der Duval Street, genießt den Hummer und kann dem bunten Treiben und den Leuten zu schauen! Daumen Hoch! Immer wieder gerne!
