Come for a nice view, beer, and conch fritters(delicious!). Otherwise the service is mediocre and the food is insipid. I ordered the mixed seafood entrée which might as well have been from Long John Silvers, everything was bland and had an unusual consistency. Also got a key lime pie for dessert which was not good at all.

Here in Key West for my buddy’s wedding! This is where we had the rehearsal dinner, and they did a great job! Service started off a little slow but with a large party it usually does. We all had several choices for a 3 course meal. For my appetizer I ordered their artichoke hearts with crabmeat. Very good, served with some sort of whole grain mustard sauce and a hot sauce. Second course I got mahi mahi topped with lobster claw and a shellfish cream sauce. The fish was cooked well, and everything was tasty! The sauce was a bit bland, though. For my dessert I ordered the key lime pie, which was key lime perfection! Well executed guys, I know those parties can be difficult and stressful. I would happily return on my next visit to the keys!

Made reservation at the Commodore Waterfront in Key West on Thursday May 26, for dinner Sunday May 29 at 8:30 pm for a particular outside table. The table was available, in fact there were few if any reservations made for that date. We got there a bit before 8:30 pm on Sunday and that table and all other outside tables were taken. The lady remembered us and the reservation and when we asked to talk to the manager Michael he was unaccomodating and in fact outright rude. My guess is he gave the table away since they had just received their menus. Maybe even friends. Quality of service and product tend to go hand in hand so never again will we eat there since all that would be expected is bad service and bad product.

Excellent dinner! I ordered Yellow Tail Snapper & asked for it blackened. Very fresh & delicious! Served with potatoes & salad all on one dish, I would’ve preferred the salad 1st& on a separate plate although it was very tasty! My husband ordered a Caesar salad with chicken, seasoned perfectly & dressed with homemade Caesar dressing. Finished with Key lime Pie, delicious! However, the bartender took a shortcut on the Key Lime Martini. It should’ve been rimmed with graham cracker crumbs, instead it was sprinkled on top? And for the price, premium vodka could’ve been used. Otherwise, I recommend the the food… I would return!

We brought a 16 person work group here. They handled every curve ball we threw at them. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. I can’t think of the last time a restaraunt responded this well to group service. Great waterfront dining and fantastic service.

Very good and for Key West a «white table cloth restaurant» The best dining we had on our brief trip to Key West and when we return we will definitely dune there again. We had dinner at the bar and the bartender was excellent Highly recommend

You have to bring your own Cokes. Surprising that an upscale restaurant like this doesn’t sell Coca-Cola. An easy problem to fix, just stop by the convenience store and buy your Coke there. The food was excellent and so was the service. A nice view of the harbor where you are looking at large boats and yachts in the dock. We also enjoyed the music here, it is at reasonable level(in most restaurants the music is way too loud). Another plus, there are no televisions in the main dining room.

I thought I loved this place until I came back this trip. This time I realized that the happy hour plates were just ok. The lobster tempura, peel and eat shrimp, calamari, lamb chops and conch fritters is what I had. The best part was the lamb chops. They were actually great. Everything else was just average. What got this place dropped down to two stars from an average 3 was the drinks. The drinks are BAD!!! The daiquiris and Lina coladas are definitely just a nasty mix in a machine and the margaritas were equally bad. Customer service is good though and half off apps and small plates is unbeatable. Definitely a try for yourself spot.

The Commodore was good. For a starter we had beef carpaccio which was pretty good. I had the salmon with hollandaise which was served with roasted potatoes and zucchini. Our waiter could have been a little more attentive and friendly, but overall it was a good dining experience.

A good sailor. Yes, but not really a Commodore. We made this our«fancy date night» destination in Key West. While the wine list was good, with the regular stable of pricy Cali cabs, the dinner fell flat. We both ordered the steaks, prime rib for the lady and a NY strip for the gentleman. Both were just ok. They reminded me a little of wedding food served at grandpas country club. The veggies and potato were very pedestrian. Admittedly, my steak barometer is set pretty high, having experienced Peter Lugars, Joes stone crab and Gibsons. While the Comodores may have made it in the 80s as an easy rock band, they have a tough time with today’s steakhouse rock stars. Oh, and by the way, I am $ 300 poorer. The view is great and the service good.

Lobster was like rubber, had to send steak back due to being too salty, then had to order a brand new steak which was terrible, first came rare then well done. calamari was tasteless . Very disappointed, spent a bundle, lousy service, was a nice room tho and nice ambience. Not recommended go to conch republic instead.

How can there be only 3 stars? The food here was wonderful! We had great expectations as this was a wedding dinner and we heard good things about the restaurant. I had seared tuna for starter and the Maui Maui for main, just thinking about it makes me wanna eat it again. Expectations were fulfilled, everything we ate was tasteful and the portions were so massive that I couldn’t even have dessert.

The Commodore serves up some good food. Some of my favs are the seared tuna salad, prime rib, and the lobster tempura. It is usually busy and lively here. Service is usually friendly and efficient. Try happy hour for great deals.

Commodore is the higher end, upstairs companion to Boat House. Don’t have time now to really elaborate but our experience was great. I was a little disappointed that they did not have Pernod for an apertif. When I’m eating at a high end joint, I like my Pernod before the meal. The setting is wonderful overlooking KW Harbor. It’s now in the summer and the AC was a welcome relief from eating at naturally aspirated places. Our service was a notch above adequate. Not impeccable. If I’m spending the dough I spent I expect a little more. But that’s just me. When in KW again, in need of a high end experience, staying nearby, I would go here. There are other options of course and if I were staying in other parts of Old Town I would have not gone here. We were staying nearby so it was convenient.

Food was delicious the scampi shrimp and filet was perfect. So was the seafood medley. The Boathouse below restaurant had great Happy Hour with half price plates and drinks. Wonderful view. Sad our waiter was stuffy and almost rude. Had told Hostess our friends anniversary waiter made no mention of it. When I tried to tell him he did not respond and walked away.

Five stars for the bartenders(on Wednesday) and the best Happy Hour we found in Key West. We only had the Peel n Eat Shrimp which were fresh and perfectly cooked. You get about a dozen large for $ 12.95 which is $ 6.50 during Happy Hour(Half-price well, beer, wine, apps). If you like craft beers they have a good variety. The mojito is very good but you might want them to sweeten it up a bit. A little extra simple syrup did wonders on the second round. Definitely a must for Happy Hour before watching the sunset.

Food was fantastic!!! Came here with a huge group of about 40 people(my co workers) for a school end of year trip. The soup. The bread and most importantly the PRIME rib was amazing. The service was great and on point given that it was such a big group. We had a great time and will definitely return with my husband next time we are in key west.

Delicious meal. Below average service. I had the avocado crab salad to start– very fresh. My entrée was the snapper and it was amazing. Very good flavor. Dessert was the chocolate lava cake and it was good. The server was very curt. When we asked for a beer that was served downstairs, he said he couldn’t get it for us. Even though it’s the same restaurant… So, we went downstairs, bought the beer and came back up. Odd.

I was skeptical about this place after seeing the reviews but after finding out that Alonzo’s Oyster House was closed for renovations until October we decided to check out The Boathouse at the Commodores and we were not disappointed. Happy hour was AMAZING! There is a daily happy hour from 4 – 6:30 where appetizers, domestics and wells are half off! The coconut shrimp and lobster tempura were DELICIOUS! And the mango dipping sauce makes it a perfect combo! The lobster tempura was small but it was the best thing we tried hands down! We also ordered some conch fritters which were the tastiest I had tried in Key West thus far! Our waitress was great. She was patient with our group of 8 and was extremely attentive to our many refills. We sat inside because they could not accommodate a party of 8 outside, but it was cool because we were able to watch some football since we were next to the bar. Outside seating is available for parties of 6 or less, so if your party size permits sit outside so you can smell the ocean, feel the ocean breeze and watch the chartered boats come and go. Your wallet and stomach will love the happy hour here, so check it out!
