Alrighty, this place gets a 4 star rating because everything we ate was delicious. 2.5 stars for service. Hostess was bleh and initially our server was a total dick. After my BF was dishing that same attitude back, our server started warming up and actually became more attentive & friendly by the end of dinner. I order a peppercorn steak, medium. Unfortunately the first 1 was way over cooked but after they fired up a new one it was perfect! The whipped potatoes & asparagus sides were bomb. The crab cakes were supppper good. Crunchy outside, delicious and full of flavor inside. Across our table we had the snapper, a seafood dish with fish & lobster, another steak & shrimp bisque. Everyone was totally satisfied with their meal. Ended the meal with an espresso crème brûlée which was surprisingly tasty. I’d absolutely go back but management should work on training their staff. By no means do I expect any server to kiss my ass but I do expect them to be friendly & attentive.

I’ve read some of the reviews on this restaurant and am shocked because I had amazing food, service and views. My friend and I stopped here on a whim for lunch. We didn’t have to wait to be seated. Our waiter was attentive and really nice. We ordered wine for starters, I ordered the seared ahi and avacado salad. It was so fresh and really amazing. Very tasty. My friend ordered a grouper sandwich. It was huge! For dessert we split a piece of their homemade key lime pie. I would highly recommend it. It was beautifully presented and tasty! The prices were on the higher side, but if you look at the menu before you go, you should know what to expect. It’s a bistro in the Westin. It’s not going to be cheap. I would go back for sure.

How fitting that one of thee best breakfast meals I have ever had was here, in Key West. The view is 5 stars, the service is 5 stars, and the meal I ate is deserving of all the stars in the galaxy. I order the Idahoan, and it was magnificent. Let me tell you all about it… You will receive deliciously scrambled eggs mixed with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes. That tasty combo is then topped with cheese and then the entire egg, cheese, veggie melt in your mouth goodness is put on top of potato skins. Genius! I had applewood bacon on this side and whole wheat toast. I truly savored every bite. The best thing about this is that I never knew it existed and recreating it in my own kitchen is a distinct possibility. If only I lived in a waterfront 5 star hotel…

While in Key West, my girlfriends and I wanted to sit somewhere and grab a bite while waiting for the Sunset Celebration. We were pretty exhausted and didn’t want to just sit around waiting. We walked around and picked Bistro 245 since it was waterfront and you get a great view of the happenings during the celebration. The setting was great with the food and service being decent. I thought they had a great menu — a little bit of everything that is seafood and great. I was excited to see a seafood mixed grill(the 245 mixed grill), which I ordered fort dinner. It came with a Florida lobster tail, wild gulf shrimp, fresh grouper, drawn butter, roasted red potatoes, and grilled asparagus. The plate was presented nicely, seafood was cooked well, however, there was nothing praiseworthy about the flavors. Overall, we had a nice experience lounging along the waterfront at Bistro 245. I can imagine people come here either for the water or because they are staying at the hotel and it is convenient.

Beautiful surrounding. Great service. Good drinks. Loved that it was dog friendly. But the food wasn’t anything to write home about. Probably more of a drinks and apps place!

You know what this place gives you? The shits. No kidding. You want to pay top dollar for diarrhea, that’s your thing. I had a lobster quesadilla, it was meh at best but mostly pretty gross. My husband had a shrimp and lobster alfredo thing. My husband’s dish had hardly any lobster, maybe 1 – 2 tiny little pieces. It was like, $ 36 and that’s far too much to pay for spaghetti with 3 or 4 shrimp. I should mention we came here during lunch time, but since it was 30 minutes to dinner they gave us dinner menus instead of lunch menus. The reason we came in was the lunch menu posted outside. So be aware of the menu switches. This place gave both of us BAD poop later that evening. Not something I would repeat by choice. The service was SLOW. So it was expensive, not good tasting, the service wasn’t great and it made us sick. Not coming back.

Great place to eat. A little pricey but we felt that the place was worthy. Started with some great drinks. For entrees my wife had the scallops and I ordered the ribeye, both were prepared perfectly. For desert we had crème brûlée and espresso, again perfect.

Except for the view, I won’t recommend this place for breakfast. We went because we had a room with breakfast at the Westin… we should have skipped it. First you’re «welcome» by a rude hostess who roughly estimate your waiting time to 20 minutes and ask you to stay close by. Then you’re seated to one of the many available tables. You need to wait another 10 minutes to order beverages and 10 minutes to receive tasteless coffees and hot chocolate made out of water. We asked for the checks and waited again… the food did not look tasty at all, we left. There are so many little cosy breakfast place in Key West, do not bother to go to Bistro 245

This is a nice location on the sunset pier line up, next to Mallory Square. The food was good, not fabulous. Samantha, our waitress was wonderfully pleasant and helpful. We had a lazy slow lunch by the water with a breeze and another drink. We expected the resort/tourist rates so we did not need paramedics when the bill came. And we were also«well oiled» by then, so we took it in stride. I enjoyed the Ahi salad. My wife found the seafood salad somewhat flat in flavor but with more lemon and salt it was quite nice.

The food isn’t fine dining in the least, but it’s definitely tasty. You go here for the view of the during sunset and for the people watching along sunset pier. Don’t until the sun is starting to set or you’ll get stuck with a table in the back or inside. To conch fritters were delicious so I’d definitely recommend those if they’re available. You can see photos of the food we ordered on our food and travel website here:

The bottomless mimosas alone, make this brunch worth while. Throw in tuna tartar, assorted exotic cheeses, smoked salmon, sushi, seared tuna, roast duck, freshly carved prime rib au jus, scallop ceviche, shrimp, oysters, crab, breakfast items and desert section and then some, there is no equal. Worth the almost $ 50 per person cost.

Tasty brunch buffet with unlimited mimosas(which are literally refilled almost as soon as you take a sip!). Buffet features raw and cooked seafood, sushi, traditional breakfast items, an omelet station, and several dessert options.

Another fabulous dinner at the Westin Bistro 245 in Key West. We have been coming here regularly now for several years and this establishment NEVER disappoints. Edyta took great care of us this evening — friendly and knowledgeable with no pretention and service as good as it gets. She is one of the many professionals that staff this restaurant. Once again, the food was perfection. My personal fav was the grouper, but it was all great. This is an unabashedly dog friendly restaurant and the 4 of us diners sat on the patio with mans best friend — all enjoying a brilliantly colorful sunset. At the risk of waiting for a table, I have to say that this is a DONOTMISS experience in Key West! GO!

The brunch at the Westin is exceptional! It is only offered on Sunday mornings, but anything and everything you could want is available, along with all you can drink mimosas. The reason I gave it three stars is because of the dinner service. Food is mediocre as is the service. Nothing like the brunch. You’d have no idea this was the same restaurant. Complete night and day!

Went to Bistro 245 on our first night in town. We were pretty tired and decided to eat at the hotel. The bistro is attached to the Westin. Our waitress was decent but a bit dry about answering our questions. We had the shrimp and lobster pasta, and the surf and turf(filet/lobster tail). We started with a shrimp and tomato flatbread and a couple of salads(Cesar and field greens). The flatbread, although made with what I believe to be a frozen crust, had very nice fresh shrimp, garlic and tomato toppings. It was worth having. The salads were reasonably good, as was the surf and turf. The shrimp and lobster pasta had a very nice light wine/cream sauce but the pasta was very much overcooked. Really no excuse for overcooked pasta at this upscale expensive place. Over all I would say the experience was ok, because of the excellent location and decent food but most might think that for these prices the food should have been executed better and I would agree. Even the bread on the table wasn’t special, although the tangerine butter and mushroom garlic butter were very fun and delicious. Our bill was $ 135 with no wine or drinks?

Phenomenal Sunday brunch, bottomless mimosas and fantastic, attentive service from Baris. Everyone must treat themselves to the spectacular selection of indulgences, both healthy, hearty, and extraordinary. Just do it!

Maybe watching the sunset in Key West is on your bucket list maybe not, regardless, if you are looking for a comfortable spot to have a cold drink and watch the sunset I highly recommend Bistro 245. They have an upstairs deck above the crowds of the pier. I suggest arriving at least one hour before the official sunset time and you’re guaranteed a front row seat. If you wait much longer, it fills up quickly. The upstairs bar poured generous drinks and Igor was a great bartender.

Not a fan! This place is full of surly waiters, servers whatever you want to call them but they think they’re royalty. Visited here for brunch and service was just lackluster. It’s an upscale location and with that you expect upscale service, you will be disappointed. Food was bad, which is something that rarely happens at brunch since brunch food is so easy and so appealing. Just a bad experience!
