They either have really inept staff, or are consistently trying to screw over their patrons. We lined up a couples golf outing with their«Stay and Play» package over six months in advance(plus one couple arrived early to make sure everything was in line) and it still took them over an hour to check in 8 couples. They tried charging us all very different prices($ 200 for one couple-$ 350 for another), they tried to say we didn’t get certain coupons that were supposed to be included as per the brochure, and they tried to charge us tax which was also supposed to be included as per the brochure. HOWEVER… this wasn’t the end of the problems. Once we got to the restaurant, they supposedly didn’t know about our coupons and gave us a run around to get our discounts, and the table bosses in the casIno denied us our $ 5 match play credit that we were supposed to receive. We basIcally had to wander around all weekend looking for people to help get us all the things we were promised in our package. On another note, the new hotel rooms are gorgeous, but I would recommend bringing your own pillow as the ones there are rocks. If you forget, the front desk will tell you there are no other options, but if you find a friendly housekeeping person… they’ll find you a softer one! The pool is also huge and gorgeous(with a waterfall), and there is adult swim only time from 6−8am. The restaurant was decent, but also has interesting pricing. One woman in our group payed $ 7.90 for a glass of wine on Friday night and payed $ 4.50(for the exact same glass of wine) on Saturday. The casino had a fun oldies band on the weekend, but only 8 tables(6 blackjack-1 Let It RIde-1 Texas Hold-em). It was hard to get a blackjack seat on the weekend nights. I also wish they didn’t allow smoking in the casino, but I understand I’m probably outnumbered on that one. On a nicer note, no one questioned our coffee mugs that were actually filled with our own adult beverages.

We stopped in on a cold Sunday afternoon for a go at the nickel slots(I know, just call me Nick the Greek), and dinner at the casino’s Forest Island restaurant. The casino floor was a typical mix of electronic slots, perhaps smokier than most – and, yes, we came out modestly ahead. Friendly service at the Guest Services desk. The Forest Island restaurant features both a buffet and a menu selection; we opted for the latter. Nothing awful, but a couple of minor problems: lipstick on one coffee cup, and we were given a bowl of soup rather than the cup we ordered.(When we pointed this out, though, the waitress was very nice, and only charged us for a cup. We tried: — Corn chowder: Creamy, chunky, but a bit under-seasoned. — Wild rice meat loaf(something of a house specialty): A huge chunk of pretty good meat loaf, but a bit burned on the outside. — Black patty melt: A well-grilled burger and cheddar on rye, with thousand island dressing. Overall, probably not a place I’d go just for the food, but probably adequate to the expectations of most of the casino’s patrons.

They have just redone the lodge at the Menominee Casino and it’s gorgeous! Sleek, modern and very comfortable. The convention center area is beautiful. I highly recommend visiting or hosting your next conference/meeting in their new facility!
