Go for the experience. Jukebox. Live music. Sometimes. Huge back porch. Pool table. Friendly bar. Locals call it «the hole.»

The Ol Watering Hole is a great neighborhood bar. We were visiting Kerrville for the night & had a great time chatting with the bartender & a few of the regulars. Strong drinks, good jukebox, reasonable prices & friendly crowd. Stop in if you find yourself in Kerrville!

This comfortable little dive bar is a favorite with locals. The bartender was friendly & quietly attentive, serving excellent strong drinks at cheap prices. The outdoor patio has great live music. Come here for a good time with good people in a simple laid back atmosphere.

My favorite bar in Kerrville. Comfortable, wonderful open back porch with Christmas lights and lots of seating. My band plays here a lot, and we are always treated so well. Cheapest drinks in town, but always made right. I love this bar, it’s so cozy. Even though you will see all types of people here, everyone gets along and there is no judgement or weird secret rules of what type of person goes to the Watering Hole. The bartenders are excellent, and drinks are good and cheap, the atmosphere is casual and laid back.

Def a dive bar but one of the better I’ve been to. Friendly, tall and hot bar tender, cheap drinks and just a chill spot all together. I will certainly be back when in town. Oh and I love the whole dollar bill idea.

5 stars because there is no reason not too. Sure, it’s a «dive bar» but it has a full bar, an updated jukebox, reasonably clean bathrooms, and smoke free inside. The bartender was nice, wiped our tables down, and frequently cleared our tables and asked if we needed anything. The band playing on Friday night was an awesome band from Austin. Ultimately, this bar filled our need of wanting to relax and hear great(above average) music while enjoying a drink. This bar attracts a nice mix of people. The only thing that could make this place better is if they sold bar snacks. Ample parking.

It feels weird to review a place I always go, and even weirder to review a bar in Kerrville because based on the lack of Unilocal reviews for Kerrville establishments, I’m assuming whoever is reading this is from out of town. I love the Hole for what it is — a dark, hometown dive bar. Well drinks are usually about $ 3, $ 3.50, free jello shots if you check in on facebook, super cheap domestics. There’s a pool table, a couple of games, tables in the main area, and a patio in the back with multiple seating areas. In the winter, they put up heaters so it’s actually still pleasant. It’s somewhat a college bar because Schreiner is down the street, so keep that in mind. Sometimes it’s a bit crowded and you have to wait a while for the bartender to get to you, but they’re generally friendly when they do. I love this bar because I usually run into so many old coworkers and friends. However, if you’re visiting from out of town, this may be a place to people-watch, but I would recommend something different. If you want something by the river, go to Pier 27 — its owned by the same family that owns the Guadalupe River Club, but its actually nice, whereas the GRC is extremely ghetto and trashy these days. If you want to go «downtown,» Azul is pretty classy and has a nice variety of mixed drinks. Its pricey, but definitely a fun experience. If you move to Kerrville, make some friends, THEN go to the Hole.

Kind of dumpy, but it is a dive bar. The bar tender was fantastic, and the band that played was surprisingly listenable. Problem was a lot of what appeared to be regulars were fundamentally unlikable. We didn’t go in there to meet or talk to anyone, but we still left knowing this. That’s how you know it was pretty bad.
