Incredible place to stop on your way into or out of the Kern River. We had chili verde breakfast, a burger and chili. Everything was really fresh and tasty. Even the onion rings were better than average.

Loved everything about the place. The corn beef hash is fabulous, very tasty.

The food was great and the staff was so friendly. The portion sizes were huge. We didn’t have enough room to order dessert but we were sent a complimentary sample of the pecan roll/​bun. It was very tasty. Definitely a gem in Kernville.

We were staying in Kernville to do some hiking and on the last day we discovered the cracked egg. Oh I wish we had on the first day! Such a cute mom and pop shop place.
The first thing my date days: ohhh… The coffee is GOOD! He has high standards for his morning brew so that means is 10++ :)
Service was great, the place is tiny so if you’re waiting anyone will notice. And I think that helps with rotating the the tables more quickly. Don’t hog your table give other folks a chance to eat here!
Food was nomnomnom good! You’ll get a hearthy breakfast here that is for sure. In hindsight we might have wanted to share cause portions are huge. The best thing was the divine buttery today! When are we going back?

Best breakfast in Kernville. 3^rd time here and alway get the Chile verde. It comes a few different ways, like omelet, skillet, and on the side. I like on the side w the sauce still in tack.

I’m sad it took us so long to stop into this place. We come through Kernville most weekends on our way up to snowy hiking trips in the Sequoias. Kernville really is impressive in its ability to house so many high quality restaurants per capita. I wouldn’t have expected it, but it’s a reality.
Mark this place as one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, in the category of greasy spoons. I wasn’t even super hungry, and wasn’t sure what to order. But as soon as I saw chile verde skillet, I had to take a chance. First of all whoever stewed the pork making this chile verde deserves all the hugs. So many places just don’t cook their chile verde long enough, rendering it too tough and unflavorful. This verde is TOPS! The egg scramble in the skillet wasn’t crappy boxed egg mix like a lot of diners use, but delicately cooked real cracked eggs. The potatoes at the bottom of the skillet were soaked in delicious fats and verde sauce, while also being crispy on the edges and melded with jack cheese in parts too. Such perfection, and such an enormous portion I will definitely have to share with my husband next time.
Great customer service, too. The place is tight and you might have a wait, but it’s so worth it! Great establishment, high marks all around, highly recommend!

Breakfast is amazing, homemade gravy can you say more. ALL THE FOOD IS GREAT. Hamburgers cooked on a flat top and amazing Carne Asada fries. This is a True locals place as it is small. Service is always friendly and you can easily talk to the cook if you are sitting on the inside.

Love this little place! Traveling from LA to Sequoia and needed a place to grab some brunch. Saw the great reviews in Unilocal and decided to stop in. I don’t eat meat or dairy, so traveling is difficult especially with breakfast items.
They have a veggie burger but the patty does have dairy in it. When one of the employees asked the chef if the burger had dairy, he said yes and then he bothered to figure out my dietary needs and made me an off-​the-​menu item — stir fried veggies with rice pilaf! It was so kind of him to ask me and make something that I could eat. It is OBVIOUS that he really cares about the food and his reputation.

First time visitors this morning and it will definitely not be our last!
Got their around 9 am (on a Sunday) and they were starting to get a bit busy. They do a great job at getting tables served and cleared quickly, so even if their is a bit of a line, it’s worth the wait! Our food came out quickly and absolutely perfect. You can tell they cooks and servers are good at what they do, friendly and efficient!
Husband had the chili verde omelette and I had the cracked egg skillet. Both were DELICIOUS. Really big portions. The size and quality make 11 bucks for an omelet worth it!

Wonderful place with great service. They took care of our large party two days in a row. We all loved our food.

This hidden little gem on a side street in Kernvillle was a great find. Food is great, cracked egg special and the French toast are my favorites. Friendly service, reasonable prices, and great food!!! I’ve been coming here for 6 years and food is always fantastic. Can’t come to Kernvillle without getting my cracked egg fix!!!

Amazing little place! Off the main street not obvious as the other place… the locals LOVE this place and we now know why.
Humble décor, small interior. A number of tables indide. Open cooking area. You can speak to the cook-​who is a very friendly. If you want there is an outdoor eating area with shade. That area accommodates large groups easily.
Staff-​extremly helpful, very knowledgeable about the menu. Very friendly!
Food-​AMAZING! Prime rib special on Saturdays so worth the trip just to have. Portions are huge! My husband, who can eat like no tomorrow, got full from the portions! House salad with Bleu cheese so do good! The chicken quesadilla is enough to fill 2 people. Rib eye steak tender and made to order. The Cole slaw is made there and us sweet and delictable. Rice pilaf is not on the menu-​ask for it! They took our group of 19 in and treated like kings! Service was over the top! Some of our group ate breakfast they and received excellent! Omelette was so big that 2 people could share and be stuffed! I LOVE thick bacon and they got it! Hug bacon strips! Oh so yummy!
For dinner we were 19 in all. They got our dinner Timley and all with a smile!

Visiting Kernville for our 3^rd year in a row. My boys and I love the food here. We visited two or three times during our stay. Awesome pancakes and omelettes. Portions are great. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

I love this cozy breakfast/​brunch spot. The first time I was here, the waitress didn’t seem to get my dad’s feisty sense of humor, but now after the 10 times he’s been there, she’s warmed up. And to me as well.
The head cook here is passionate and strives on homemade meals. You can’t say that about all places.
Best corned beef hash I’ve ever had. It’s been 2 months since I’ve had it, and my mouth is still in heaven.

Love this little breakfast place! This is one of our favorite places to eat when we’re camping at the Kern River. The portions are seriously huge and the staff is attentive. There isn’t a lot of room inside, but they have a nice patio outside as well where you can eat. The biscuits and gravy are delicious, and you get them as one of the side choices with your breakfast. Good stuff!

This is a cool spot to eat foods pretty good the service was good. Inside seating is small but you can also sit outside …
I got a chicken sandwich it was good it came with fries I like that the fried weren’t too salty. This is a spot to hit in your visit out here.

We come here whenever we are up this way and it’s always good but today was excellent. I had an omelet with tri tip, mushrooms, Ortega chilies, and cheese with added avo. Came with hash browns and toast. Was very good and generous. Had to take half home.
My husband had the New a York steak with eggs and home fries and toast. He loved it. Once again generous portions and the steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly.
The service was great. The waitress even filled up a large iced tea to take with me. If you are up this way this is the best place around for breakfast.
