PF gets 4 stars merely because they are 24 hours. Between my husband’s 2nd shift job and my random desires to workout the 24 hour access works perfectly for us. We both have the black card because we travel enough to make it worth it for us. The tanning is a small perk that we don’t have to have. The beds are typically open and easy to get in and out. They are pretty low end but bulbs are hot. I do wish they had a small sauna or Zumba classes. For me something like Zumba is going to help someone who doesn’t work out a ton compared to pizza days. Classes are awesome for creating positive experiences and connecting like minded people. I really don’t like the circuit training here or other locations simply because the information on the«steps» is written in tiny font and all the way across the floor at times. I’m an old lady, please make it easy for me to get in and work out and get out. This place is always clean. I have been to many locations that aren’t as fastidious about cleaning but this one is always on the ball. For 20/month with 24 access, it works for us. I also completely recommend the 10/month access. Know that you can bring a friend at anytime with you which is what we did before I got a card as well to save some cash.

There’s a lot to like about Planet Fitness, and of course there are some negative things. If I could give it a 3.5 I would. I really like the atmosphere Planet Fitness tries to maintain. I think it is awesome that the corporation actively tries to insure that people of all sizes feel comfortable at the gym — something that I really believe encourages people to be active. I am in there a lot, and there are more«overweight» people in there than«fit» people, which I personally find awesome because it means PF is doing something right. With that, I think it can be a little obnoxious that they have a «lunk» alarm if people are being too«meatheadish.» Some people are like that and I agree that PF is not the kind of gym to do that, but get rid of the alarm. No need to make a scene for being trying to be fit — just have a worker talk to that person on the side. If PF wants to encourage acceptance of all people and all sizes, that should include«lunks.» The price is hard to beat — $ 10 a month for 24⁄7 access to tons of equipment, cardio machines, weights, etc. There’s no other gym that gives you that much for so little. The gym is always clean, including the locker room(can only speak for the women’s locker room). Weirdly, they do a great job of ensuring that the gym doesn’t smell bad, which is awesome. The equipment is maintained well and there are TONSANDTONS of cardio machines, so many that I never have to wait for one to open up. The other comments are true, too — the staff is always kind. My only other complaint is in regards to the events that they host. I think it is counterproductive and somewhat insulting that they have pizza night and huge jars of candy all over the place. In the mornings they often have breakfast — never fruit or yogurt but things high in complex carbs, like sweet bagels. Although I get that PF tries to normalize the gym experience, I do not want to smell pepperoni pizza while I’m working out. I also do not think it is appropriate to serve people pizza and candy before or after their workouts. Gyms are meant to be beacons of health, and PF should try to incorporate«health» a little more into their events. I would love to see more fruit, yogurt, and protein-based options available as opposed to pizza, bagels, and candy. PF is in a perfect position to teach so many people about balancing proper nutrition with indulgence. I just wish they would capitalize.

To keep this body, El Lunchador needs to work off the fat as quickly as he takes it in. Sadly, it has been a losing battle thus far but for a mere $ 10 a month with no contract I can dig it. Planet Fitness is so cheap I can afford not to go as often as I should. Friendly, non-intrusive staff, few gym creepazoids, and quite clean. And hey, lots of televisions to lessen the pain. 2 thumbs up and a body slam!

This place is thus far my favorite out of the surrounding High point and Winston-salem locations. The layout is simple, efficient and feels roomier than others. This place also has 2 or 3 more bench machines than Winston location. I do like the self check in that peters creek offers, but that’s negligible since the Kernersville staff remembered me by name after a month or so! Also, the weights are always in their place and members seem to adhere to such etiquette a lot more than the new gym on peters creek which is very important to me for it makes for quicker work outs when you don’t have to look for the proper weights. As far as the PF chain goes, it’s always clean and staff is always friendly!
