I really like this place! They are my favorite thing about any restaurant… they are consistent! The food is always hot, exactly how I ordered it, and always tastes great. It’s not very different from most other Mexican restaurants as far as décor goes, but I do think they have the best Mexican food in Kernersville.

Food is good, typical chain style mexican menu. Service is average and a little pricey compared to other mexican restaurants in the area.

This was my first experience at Don Juan’s on 3⁄13 for lunch. We were seated promptly but both my wife and I both realized it was quite warm inside the restaurant. We happened to be seated near a thermostat and noticed that the temperature was set on 79 degrees. In my opinion this is just way to worm to enjoy dining somewhere. The chips were a little old as well and the salsa is very watery. We both did enjoy our meals. She had a chicken quesidilla and I had 3 tacos. Both were good and would have given a better rating if we were not sweating throughout the meal.

Don Juan’s is the go-to spot in Kernersville for Mexican fare. And for the life of me I can’t see why! Maybe because I’ve gotten spoiled with some of the authentic taco/sope spots that have popped up around the greater Triad area! Or perhaps it’s due to a few of the really good«Americanized» Mexican restaurants in the Triad that do a few things incredibly well! Or perhaps it’s because I don’t find many things Don Juan’s does very well. Their chips are just kinda there. Their salsa is that same thin red watery stuff that they all serve. Their orange colored rice and bland beans are typical. The meats are flavorful, but they’re just there too! Plus there’s so many people sitting around with their perfectly salted rimmed margarita glasses waiting to put on that birthday sombrero that I just feel like WTH! I mean if your into that, and all of Kernersville is, then Don Juan’s should certainly be a consideration for you!

On Tuesdays they have a special where if you buy a drink you get tacos for a dollar! The staff here is super friendly and nice. Also if you get a to-go order they pack you some chips and salsa which is awesome! I got their chicken tacos, one soft and one hard and both were delicious! The cheese was my favorite part, it was loaded with cheese. Yum. The chips and salsa on the other hand were just okay to me. The chips were kind of extra hard to me and their salsa was okay, not amazing though. I’ll definitely be eating here again though since it’s near my work!

This place is pretty solid as far as your typical Mexican restaurant. It does get busy at times so be prepared to wait but they’re super fast and my drinks are never empty! Prices can be a little high for some items but your usual entrees are comparable to other restaurants in the area. My favorite here is the junior special!

Get the queso! It’s amazing! By the time you eat the queso you’ll be stuffed for your main meal. Also the pitcher of margaritas is well worth it. Split between two people you’re getting about 5 margaritas for $ 15!

I have tried multiple Mexican restaurants and none of them compare to Don Juans. Every time I’m in Kernersville I make sure to stop and eat here.

Our favorite sit down Mexican place in the entire region. Great food! Great prices! Great service(9 out of 10 times). And I love their salsa.

Don Juans is my all time favorite Mexican restaurant. Every time I return to my hometown, I make a visit here. Service is always great and even if there is a wait, you get seated pretty quickly. My favorite meal is(without a doubt) the camarones a la diabla. It is a spicy shrimp with peppers and onions, with tortillas on the side. It is made fresh, which is obvious because the meal is a differing level of spiciness each time. That would probably be my only complaint, since I really like spicy food. I’ve had the fajita quesadilla, which was delicious as well. I also love the chips and salsa.

Finally made it to this location for lunch, though we pretty much knew what to expect since we’d eaten at the Lexington location several times over the years — solid Tex-Mex food with pretty good service, all in a slightly tacky, environment — though the piped in music is constant, loud, and rather annoying here. We tried a nice variety of items — Chile Relleno, Beef Taco, Refried Beans, Rice, Guacamole Salad, Chalupa, Beef Enchilada, and a Pork Tamale — these were spread out across a Lunch Special and Especial de La Casa platter. The Salsa here is good, on the chunky side with a little heat, the chips fresh tasting. The Chile Relleno is excellent, plenty of seasoned beef, and the whole thing smothered in a great tasting cheese. The Beef Taco is old school — hard shell, plenty of that same seasoned beef, and lots of shredded cheese — street tacos are nice, but once in a while this style is great. The Beef Enchilada was also very, very good, as was the Guacamole Salad — plenty of fresh tastes here. The Pork Tamale was just ok, probably would not order it as a separate item, and pretty much the same with the Chalupa. The Rice and Beans were fairly standard. Nice solid food with good service. Would definitely return for an early lunch, but doubt I’d come for dinner on a weekend — this place would be very noisy when crowded, and the parking lot is a mess to get around in.

Love the Jerk Pork, which is only served at Don Juans, for I have never seen it at any other Mexican establishment. Comes with a pineapple — sour cream sauce… yummy!!! Table side prepared guacamole is wonderful also. But really, GETTHEJERKPORK!!! YOUWILLNOTBELETDOWN!!!

This is one of my go to resturants, and when I have company in from out of town, they ask if we can go back to Don Juans. My favorites to order are Churi Pollo, Shrimp Civiche, Fried Jalapeños, and Camrones Diablo. I have not had a bad food experience in 5 years of eating there. The weighters are very friendly and the service is fast. Tip: save room for some flan for dessert

This place blows. The food is okay I guess. There just isn’t any flavor. The salsa can’t be homemade… It lacks everything tasty.

Awesome Mexican fare at Don Juan’s in Kernersville! I have never been disappointed in the food. The service is a little touch and go, but I think it’s because of the high volume of people that come through. It’s always busy when I visit, but they do a good job of handling the crowds. The menu is quite extensive, ranging from burritos, tacos, and quesadillas to more authentic choices. As a recovering obese young lady, I try to be as health conscious as possible, which is really difficult at Mexican restaurants. Don Juan’s has an entire portion of the menu catered to healthy eaters! I usually order the«Slim Chicken,» which is essentially chicken fajitas cooked in no oil or seasonings(unless requested). You get huge portion of grilled chicken with mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers and onions. I poor salsa on it, and I don’t miss the tortillas, cheese, and beans. The prices at Don Juan’s are pretty on point, especially if you go for lunch. A whole family of four can go to eat a large Mexican dinner for $ 45. That is not bad considering I usually leave with a to-go box full of food. I will definitely be back to Don Juan’s whenever I’m in the area!

This is by far the best Mexican, not only in Kernersville, but anywhere! I go here to eat even if I dont want Mexican. thats how good the food is. There is a huge parking lot, and it gets full quick at peak hours. The service is always fast and friendly. The restaurant is always clean, and so are the restrooms. Their menu is large, and I have tried many things on it. I would recommend the cheese dip, or spice it up and go for the queso fundido, cheese dip with chorizo sausage. It is so good. Margaritas are always good, along with other mixed drinks, or get a big Dos Equis beer. There are plenty of choices on the menu and I havent had a bad one yet. Some of my favorites are El Mejor, Chef’s special, ACP Texanas, California Burrito, just to name a few. The price is reasonable for the food you get. Service is excellent. This place is El Mejor. The Best!

Best Mexican in Kernersville! Great prices, quick service! I’ve tried something different at each visit. Most recently I tried a chefs special which was Chicken, mushrooms, broccoli, and a creamy cheesy tomatoey sauce! Very delicious! It was served with rice and beans. A large order was around $ 9. It can also be purchased by the half order as well if you’re not that hungry. A must try!

I’ve been coming here since moving to southeast Winston-Salem about 7 years ago, and I like this Kernersville restaurant. The parking lot can be a bit of a madhouse, and there’s often(always?) a wait for both lunch and dinner, but that’s why God made margaritas. Everything I’ve tried has been good, with my favorites being the Cancun Special(jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon and cheese served over a bed of fresh lettuce, pico de gallo, sliced tomatoes and avocado accompanied with rice drizzled with cheese sauce) and the cheese stuffed chile poblanos(found a la carte or under«create your own combo» on the menu). Their salsa is just so-so, but they have a great salsa verde if you ask for it. Their«top-shelf» margaritas on the rocks are fantastic! I’ve never had bad service here, which is a big plus.
