I’m a cave man for sure! They should have more of these. I should put one in my house. Anyway, tasting in the cave was a fun experience. The visual and aromatics alone are amazing. Plus it was hot and this was a great way to cool down. Good service. Very good wines on the whole.

Good quality, tasty wine. Interesting wine storage cave tour. Medium to high bottle prices. Usually not crowded, even on busy summer week-ends. August 2015: declared chapter 9 bankruptcy several months ago and is now under new management. Will the winery survive? It’s a local population discussion topic. I’m a Kenwood resident.

My wife and I visited Deerfield Ranch on 8÷18÷15 on the recommendation of several friends, and it was arguably the best wine tasting experience we have ever had. Unlike most wineries, Deerfield does their wine tasting inside the cavernous wine cellar, which is a massive complex built into the hill. It is interesting to walk past the hundreds of barrels of wine on one’s way to the tasting room and read all of the labels, and the barrels provide a nice oaky smell to the tasting room. The best part of the experience was the service. The staff were extremely friendly and one of them essentially spent the whole time sitting with us and talking about the wines, about the area, and life in general. He also gave us multiple extra tastings, including some of their expensive reserve wines. We loved the people and the wine so much that we ended up joining their wine club and purchasing several bottles on the spot. We highly recommend this place and will be sure to be back next time we are in the area.

Quality, clean, robust wines. Mid to high bottle cost, but the difference is worth it. The ambiance in the cave is exceptional. The production process leaves little to no side effects for the consumer, this is a huge bonus for people with sensitive reactions to wine.
