Have you been drinking yourself silly in downtown Kent and now have a wicked case of the drunken munchies? Well, you’re in luck. Your fairy DawgFather is just a few few away serving up soem pretty decent hot food. The Dawgfather Grill and BBQ is more of a traditional hot dog stand than a high-end food cart like Dim and Den Sum. But the Dawgfather knows his audience– poor, hungry college kids aching for some grease. The menu’s pretty decent: hot dogs, veggie dogs, fries, po’boys, ribs, gyro, italian sausages, etc. On special nights, such as Halloween, they expand their operation a bit to accomodate more people. As for the quality of the food– it’s pretty much exactly what you’d expect. When you’re drunk, it’s the best food on the planet. When you’re sober, it’s just okay. They have a tendency to undercook their fries, so I always ask for them well-done…and even then they’re not exactly crisp. The boyfriend always gets their po’boy which he never has a complaint about while he’s devouring it and making a hot mess of himself. What I like best about The Dawgfather Grill and BBQ is that the owner is a KSU alum and a resident of Kent and I’m all about supporting local businesses.
