Precision Countertops

This is one of the worst companies I have ever worked with. They were several weeks later than promised, had awful customer service and delivered a COMPLETELY different product than what we had ordered.
I would NEVER use them and wish there was more I could do to warn people. WORST experience ever.

Short version — with this many 1 star reviews it’s clear this is not a company to do business with. Long version — I’ve used Home Depot for countertops in another state and it was a very fast, simple process with excellent cost effective results. Not so here in WA with Precision being the installer. Everything about our remodel has gone pretty smoothly until the counters. It takes weeks for them to come measure. Then weeks more for them to come do a template. Then weeks more for the actual installation. Then I get a call on Tuesday verifying I am ready for my Thursday installation. Only problem is it was scheduled for Wednesday! Yes, my email from Precision had stated the Thursday installation date, but when I spoke on the phone with the scheduler she repeatedly said it was scheduled for Wednesday, even when I questioned why it was different than the email date. Now that conversation has been forgotten and I’m told «that’s the date in the email we sent you». Now I’m waiting for a call back to reschedule as we are unavailable on Thursday. My experience is this will take days. Each person I have dealt with from this company seems kind and intent on customer service, however their overall organization to go from purchase to installation is more than ridiculous.

Agree that this company deserves negative stars (and bankruptcy). I can’t think of worse customer service that I’ve received in ANY retail setting. Over a year before our kitchen remodel, I went to them and said «I want Neolith counters.» I eventually gave up, because over the many months of trying to see a Calacatta sample so I could pick cabinet colors, etc., they had NO product literature, NO product samples, NO product, grossly incorrect information, and absolutely no interest in changing any of that. They didn’t respond to my offers to drive 4 hours to see it their Portland location, they lied about being unable to bring a slab up on their weekly truck, they shifted me off to the distributor to answer questions that were clearly fabrication related, and, worst of all, the (third) salesman had me drive to the showroom to see a slab that wasn’t there, a sample that was the wrong one, and then he tried to tell me that the sample and the pattern I wanted were «the same thing, the company just calls them different things sometimes.» Luckily, a California stone-​yard I stopped at put me in touch with another Neolith fabricator in my area, and within ten minutes of calling them I was on my way to see an actual installation in someone’s kitchen. THAT’s customer service. (sorry for the novel!)

I used precision years ago (2012– another house) through Loews and it was great start to finish, product, price, & installation (hence the 2 star rating rather than one). Loews isn’t currently using Precision (that should have been my first clue) but Home Depot is. I got a quote through Home Depot and they said a rep has to come out to take the measurements etc. I had to wait close to 2 weeks for the appointment and left work early to meet with the rep EVEN though I already had professional measurements and knew exactly what I wanted. The lady that came wasn’t dressed professionally (understatement) and even sent and received texts while working with me. I was quoted SEVERAL THOUSAND dollars higher than the quote I received at Home Depot. I was upset my time was wasted and said had that been the original quote they wouldn’t have been allowed in my home. She made no apologies and told me prices change overnight all the time. What!!! She tells me she has another product very close to what I wanted that would cost about what the original quote from Home Depot was but I would have to come to the Kent showroom about an hr away to see it. Fast forward to my Saturday morning appointment and she has several samples out all costing about the same as the quote she gave me at my house rather than the home depot quote. Thanks for wasting my time again and upping the price a few thousand dollars! I think this company is shady and I’m not a fan of bait and switch. They are clearly used to ticking people off because they didn’t mind at all that I was upset by their bait and switch and they made no apologies. I have been to every showroom in Kent and Seattle that is open to the public and in my opinion, this company had the worst prices and the worst customer service. All I can do to about it is tell everyone I know and review them on the internet. I will still buy new counters just not from them! :)

I actually did not use the company recommended by home depo. The estimate appointment didn’t go well so I was concerned about using this company. The salesman was annoyed that I asked why he didn’t bring the sample like home depo said he would. He said home depo knows that they have the samples! I told him that two people at this business also told me thathe would bring the sample. He was upset his computer didn’t work and discussed his upcoming appointment with someone more important. He did get the sample but I had to drive down to their showroom to pick it up. I felt uncomfortable about the appointment so I got on Unilocal to check reviews. I found 11 reviews with and 10 of them are bad ones. A big thank you to the people who did the reviews. I emailed the salesman and let him know about my concerns regarding the reviews and what would he do to insure that I didn’t have any of those problems. He failed to address the complaints and stated that they would get my countertops done before thanksgiving as soon as I went to home depo and paid in full for the job they haven’t done yet. I got a second estimate for Glenn at Granite and marble specialties. What a difference. I felt like I was the only customer they have. Glenn showed me a quartz product that was a lot nicer and $ 1000.00 less. They were very professional and got our kitchen done on time and on budget. About $ 1300.00 less than precision countertops. So if anyone needs countertops, backsplash, sink. call Glenn at granite and marble specialties in Kent 425−282−6323.

If it were possible to give negative stars this company deserves them.
Many times I have attempted to reach Jennifer Hill by phone. She refuses to return my call… these calls were for purchase of granite.
So, they have lost my business and any future business.
And, to Ms. Hill, you might want to come off your high horse, your not as special as you may think.

Horrible customer service. We used them only because it’s the company Home Depot uses when you order counters from them. Had I known how frustrated I would be and how much time I would have spent managing the process I would have gone somewhere else. I have given this feedback to Home Depot as well. Precision doesn’t get back to you when they say they will, they have misinformation that impacts your job and they are rude on the phone. The only redeeming factor is they have good contractors who actually come to do the work. We had excellent installers, plumber and tile worker. They are all independent so I got all their business cards so I can avoid the obstructionist and rude middle person next time.

I worked directly with Precision Countertops and could not before impressed with the contractors the sent out! Alex who installed our tile back splash is a true artesian who takes pride in his work and did a great job. When we ran a little short on tile because I asked him to do around the window he drove all the way to Kent to get a few more so he could finish on time. The two guys that installed the counters also did a great job! So pleased with the result!

Wish I would have looked at Unilocal before contracting with them. I asked for a sink reveal didn’t get it… another vendor told me that they couldn’t do it but would say they could… he was right. Also none of the backsplash pieces are flush with the edge of the counter tops… I guess it wouldn’t be bad but none of them are consistently short some are near the edge some are not. When you are spending tens of thousands on your kitchen… i guess i should have looked a little harder and spent a little more with someone that did do «Precision» countertops.

Experienced similar issues with «bait and switch» of a 3 cm countertop to a 2 cm since they claimed the 3 cm was out of stock. This was through Home Depot, and they would not reduce the price even though granite stores charge less for a 2 cm slab. Less material should equal less cost, right? In the end we cancelled our order and worked directly with another granite showroom and purchased a 3 cm slab for $ 1k less and a two week installation. Stay away from Home Depot countertops and Precision unless you want to pay more and wait longer.

We did a new kitchen through Ikea, who uses Precision for their counters. Had I known better, I would have used someone else.
I’m absolutely disappointed with every part of Precision Countertop’s service. Here are the places where they screwed up, messing up our kitchen renovation schedule:
1. The first template appointment: measured the countertop area, but failed to measure the waterfall which was clearly listed on our order sheet and that we’d already paid for. Templater returned to measure the area he failed to get right the first time. Installation delayed due to need to re-​template.
2. Countertop edge: we chose one of the four edge styles that was offered. Apparently a data entry person entered some wonky value that isn’t even a real edge. There are FOUR choices… how hard is it to get this right?
3. Installation: They came to install the countertop and discovered that they’d measured wrong and need to recut almost every piece of countertop. Our contractor’s schedule was based on having the countertop installed so that he could finish the backsplash, install appliances, etc. Not only is a mistake in measurement a fundamental error in the ONE thing they do, but they put us back into the countertop queue, not at the front of the queue, delaying the installation now by another few days. This delay cascaded to the rest of our renovation.
The only saving grace of Precision is that we were lucky enough to have a helpful and friendly customer service representative, who made getting through each of these errors as pleasant as possible. I would stay far, far away from this company when there are so many other options for counters in the Seattle area.

Stay away from this company. We worked with them through United Wholesale for our kitchen remodel and are most unhappy. First of all, they mad up pay upfront for the entire job, then they told us that our material of choice (3cm Ceasar Stone) was out of stock (after they came and measured and set the install date). They said that we could not get it in for a month and a half. We already had a different vendor scheduled to redo our floors and that appointment could not be moved, so we changed to 2 cm, that they had told our designer that they had in stock, so we could get it done right away. They reduced the size of our bar over hang (less material needed) and we supplied the metal brackets that were needed to support the bar. Their guy who came to measure told me over the phone that the were doing a project using the 2 cm and that they had lots of it, as well as their installer, who said the exact same thing. On top of all of that, they were supposed to show up to install the countertop between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, on a Thursday. The installer called at 4:45 pm trying to put it off a day (which we couldn’t since we already had the plumber scheduled to put in the sink the next day and we would be moving to a hotel on Monday, so our floors could be done, which they had been told). They did not show up until 7:00 pm and finished at midnight!!! My husband and I both had early morning appointments, so we were not pleased. When it was all done, we expected to at least get a little of our cash back, but instead they told the designer that they wanted to charge us an additional $ 500!!! Our designer supposedly talked them out of charging us the additional cost, but we are still angry and left with a bad taste in our mouths. I would say to stay as far away from this company as possible.

I placed my order for a new Silestone countertop through Home Depot and they arranged with Precision to template and install. This company seem to be weeks or a month out to schedule even for a template.
My cabinets are installed and ready to go. However,
Out of the 10’s of calls and messages. I have only spoken with the company twice.
There are always excuses why they can’t get to me :
— Computers are down
— rep. out to lunch and will call back (didn’t happen — until 10 days later)
— left numerous voicemails or operator left written messages, but no one gets back to me in a reasonable time with any common business courtesy.
I’m trying to work with Home Depot to get my money back and go to someone else that has better customer service … or any service for that fact.
BAD PRECISION! BAD!

Pros: Big selection of exotic granite slabs.
Cons: The sales people seems preoccupied with looking in the mirror to ensure their makeup is fresh.
We spent an hour appointment there and they brushed us off after because they didn’t have more time for us. We never received the quote through email or a follow up call. Very disappointed in the sales experience. I guess they don’t need my business.

This is the WORST COMPANY EVER!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!
First let me say that the people at home depot and precision countertops are the most unhelpful people in the world. If you have to get countertops for your home avoid these companies at all cost! It says something when the company is not registered with the better business bureau. To make a long story short they do there best to screw you out of much money as possible and are not upfront about there policies.
