I think owner and management has changed but prevues i always love then Mexican food and owner was very caring service is good. The people work there doesn’t seem to have that interest in service ether they would make wait like for 30min or they will just give you giant inchalada a plate that you feel full before even start eating. I am not complaint maybe some people like more food but i my case i don’t so go try you might like it

Amazing food! Yes it can get hot in there, so order your food to go. They are a small establishment and they make amazing food. The taquitos, the mini tacos, heck even the rice and beans are the best I have ever had.

Mauro’s opened up several months ago in the old Dari-Hut right on Millitary Rd. just a mile down the road from 516. We went there a month or so ago and found ourselves all alone in this tiny establishment. The menu was very impressive in how it was laid out, the options, and how reasonable the prices were. We ordered, sat down and they brought out freshly made chips, salsa and some smooth guac. Our meals came out is short time and the two meals were great. Warm, fresh, chicken was seasoned, steak was tender. So we went back two days ago. I am sure I now know why the place is NEVER busy in the evenings. Ordered, sat down, and was immediately noticed how HOT it was in there. Not like hot because we were sitting in the window seats that face west in the evening. It was hot, like there were no fans, doors open or anything to make the customer feel comfortable. The food came out, very hot this time. I had to wait a few minutes to even take a bite of the taco. When I did, I noticed the steak was very rubbery. Hard to chew. Not as good of taco as last time. She got enchiladas that were drenched in a red chipotle type sauce. Mind you, I liked the sauce, she didn’t. It was a bit overwhelming. You couldn’t taste the food in the enchilada. All you could taste was the sauce. Big bummer. I would suggest you at least try it once. Twice if you liked it. I am curious if anyone else has the same experience as I did. Thanks.
