FLOFORM Countertops

I contacted Floform through Costco to get a bid for new counters. I had an appointment at 5:30. We already had several other bids, which took no more than 30 minutes to take some measurements and go over general project information. The experience with Floform was very annoying and a little strange. My husband was out of town, and I had a fussy baby to deal with. The lady that came to our house was asking about sinks, faucets, etc. I said we haven’t put much thought into that, we just want to look at counters at the moment. She got very short with me and said she gets a sense that we aren’t ready for this. Ok, we do know in general what we want, and right now we just want to get a bid for counters. She continued, took some measurements, and then sat at her laptop for awhile. She calls me over and starts to go through a powerpoint presentation about why you shouldn’t pick the lowest bid and how great her company is. Great, I’m really not interested and do not have time for this! Then she goes out and gets a bag of material samples. I repeatedly told her I am not interested in picking finishes at this time, especially since my husband isn’t there, if we go with them, we will go to a showroom to review the options. My son is literally screaming then entire time and it is now his bedtime. I had to kick her out after an hour and a half and never even received a bid. NO THANKS! Horrible experience, and a total waste of time.

I had a full set of countertops installed with my recent kitchen remodel. These people came in did their measurements in a very timely fashion. When the new countertops arrived they fit perfectly. My slide in Range and my new sink all fit perfectly I was truly amazed it was the only thing in my kitchen remodel job that went well.

Floform Countertops was amazing! From start to finish! I have been in the construction industry for over 30 years and I was very impressed … They were Professional, on time and so helpful in assisting me on selecting the right tops and color selections for my kitchen and bathrooms! I highly recommend them! My neighbor just had her kitchen done by them as well a few weeks prior to mine through COSTCO and we both have enjoyed showing our kitchens off during the holidays! Our family raved over our new kitchen… Thanksgiving was perfect!

My experience… They brought a gentleman with a computer with a digital line tool to make «precision» measurements, but when they installed the slab the cut path around the perimeter of the countertop was terrible, lines weren’t straight, and they tried to fix the gaps with tons of caulking. After e-​mailing back and forth they finally agreed to replace it, but they re-​cut the slab with the original path. I ended up having to watch installers grind down the slab a ton until it was not noticeably wavy and wonky.

I trusted Costco and the rep who told me how their company was acknowledged by all of these organizations for their excellent craftsmanship. BIG mistake. This company may specialize in making countertops, but they hire horrible installation people! Poor tear out guys, poor backsplash installation guys and little attention to detail. 3 months of do and redo and my kitchen is finally done. Should have taken 5 days. Like Sharon (above reviewer), I am a teacher, and I give them an F. Do yourself a favor, save yourself the endless headaches and DO NOT waste time with this company.

I work for a smaller business. We have worked with many different fabricators but we always go back to Flo Form. They have amazing and hard working employees. We have worked with them for at least 15 years and have had no issues. They guarantee there products. If there are any issues they fix the issue as soon as possible. They always keep us updated on any new products, any new employees, any new reps, and are always flexible with any of our needs. I highly recommend Flo Form!

I went through the Gig Harbor Costco and they used the Kent, WA Floform as the supplier. I was extremely happy. I got the Cambria line of quartz in the Summerhill pattern… WOW, it is beautiful. Every appt person showed exactly on time, from salesperson, Erica, the tearout guy and the installers were on time worked quietly as they could and made efficient work of their time. We checked price with other installers and it was within a few hundred dollars but no one else had the Cambria line that we wanted. My contact person even talked me through a minor repair on our garbage disposal plumbing so there would be no hold up for the installers and I could turn my water back on for the rest of house between tearout and install. I was expecting problems but honestly it went very smoothly which was greatly appreciated as my husband ended up in the hospital the whole time… totally unexpected. I absolutely would recommend again! Not sure why others had complaints but for me it was a good experience. We have gotten lots of compliments and it is like a whole new kithchen. Oh, and they are able to send an email of exactly how the counter top will look pattern wise and all the cuts. Seaming really doesnt show either. We also got the sink and hot tap through them but used our faucet and garbage disposal. Nice we didnt have to run around getting everything. We did get a new gas cooktop and had to have that installed separately.

We are in the process of upgrading our countertops and had Floform come out to give us a quote because they were a Costco vendor. I called and scheduled an appointment and they told me a woman was going to come out. When I answered my door for my appointment it was not a gal, but 2 guys. The first guy was completely arrogant almost pushy. He sat down and said «ok we were told you are ready to sign on the dotted line» when we said no, he said «oh well we were given false information then.» After talking about what we wanted and didn’t want they took a video documenting what we have already and I was ok with that, but what I wasn’t ok with was the one guy asked my husband and I to step outside because he was uncomfortable talking on video with us watching. We told him no we were going to stay. Keep in mind we already discussed with them what we did and didn’t want so they went out to their car for 15 minutes and came back inside with the quote. First, why didn’t they write the quote up in front of me?! So they give us the quote… for $ 12,000!!! That included a backsplash, sink, faucet all which we talked about we didn’t want. When asked if this is something we are ready to purchase today and we said no he then kept talking about financing and even said «how long would it take you to come up with $ 12,000?» When we said again we needed to talk this over the guy slammed his laptop closed and started packing up. At this point I knew I wasn’t going to go with this company!

We are currently in the product/​service review and bidding stage for counter tops and backsplash so have been seeing a lot of salespeople and looking at a lot of product. After an initial consultation meeting with FLOFORM we are quite sure we will NOT be going with them. We called on them because they are the Costco contractor in our area and we generally love everything about Costco. If you feel the same way I think it is important to note here up front that FLOFORM is separate from Costco. They are merely the company that has the Costco contract currently. They are located in Kent, WA and ship pieces all over the NW so they may or may not be local for you depending on where you live. I see this as a negative for folks on the other side of the state or in a different state altogether like us.
Do your research. Bottom line is that FLOFORM is a MASSIVE machine that turns out MASSIVE amounts of product. This does mean they have the infrastructure and most modern manufacturing equipment but it also means it is easy to get lost in the process with them. We immediately felt like just another number in a long list.
Oh, and speaking of numbers… the FLOFORM quotes we received were anywhere from $ 2500 to $ 4K MORE than several local competitors who provided as with a much more personal, hands-​on, customer service experience.
NOT for us!

Where do I start?
We got Floform through Costco. Customer service was ok until our credit card was debited.
You hire a contractor because you want a professional and a high quality job done. Ours wasn’t the case.
Barely 3 months after the job was done (not to mention 3-​week delay), there are visible, ugly cracks along the joints of the countertop and backsplash installed by Floform. Called several times to complain but no one responded.
The whole job looked like it was done by my 4-​yr old son. Poor finishing! I watch HGTV and I’m really even angrier looking at the quality of the finishes compared to mine, considering the price points are comparable and at times Floform was pricier.
I won’t be recommending this company.

We used FloForm thought Costco. The rep Michael Ferguson did a great job up to the installation date and or once our bankcard was charged then drop all communication. He done a terrible job on following through with a referral issue and never once called to see if we were satisfied with the end results. The customer service in the Kent show room was terrible. We had a very hard time getting anyone to acknowledge us let alone help. The gentleman who did the template was great & very knowledgeable & the end product turned out good. However, a week after it was installed we received an offer from another highly recommended contracted that would have done the same comparable job for $ 2,000 less. We would not use or recommend using FloForm.

This company provided very poor service. They were contracted through Lowes, although Lowes did an outstanding job trying to solve the problems created by Floform. Floform arrived with the incorrect sink, but we accepted it because of our construction timeline. Their product was beautiful quartz, but it did not sit properly on our countertops or against the wall. Of course the person that did the measuring did not tell us this would be an issue, even when we asked. When we complained, a second installer came to remove the backsplash part of the countertop. He commented on the poor job done previously. If you need countertops, do not use Floform, they are not customer friendly or helpful.

This company always does a half ass job. The employees are awesome but the shop puts out some bad work. The guys have to fix the shops mistakes constantly. Our job was over two weeks late because apparently the shop was behind. When I asked the employees why their shop was so backed up it was because they’ve had a lot of people being fired or that quit. This company needs to get it together before they end up going out of business. I will never choose this company to do work for me again. I can’t stand companies that treat their employees like crap.

They stood us up twice, rescheduled weeks later each time, then refused to repair chips in the countertop caused by their installation. Go elsewhere if you can.

We have used FineLine twice, first when renovating our bathrooms and then when renovating our kitchen. In both times they were very professional and punctual, and did a great job with the installation.

I have used FineLine many times over the years. I have found them to be very knowledgeable, always very client friendly and they do a beautiful job of installation.
Every client that we have installed through FineLine has been very pleased. On the rare occasion that there was an issue, they completely stood behind their product and stuck with it until it was right.
They are a «giant» as one other noted, but along with that comes better communication, better scheduling and in some cases better pricing when you can utilize their stock program.

The description of a 2 star being Meh. I’ve experienced better is very appropriate. I’ve worked alongside many countertop fabricators. Fine line operates like a giant… you get into the stream of their operations and you wait for them to tell you exactly what they are going to do. Sometimes it works out like they say, other times it doesn’t and your schedule will have to accommodate them. You will get the phone call after the decision is in stone so don’t bother complaining. Just be prepared to get what you get. Service? MEH, I’ve experienced better. There are plenty of personable, accommodating fabricators out there, in my opinion, you can do much better.

Don’t even get me started about these losers!!!
We bought our Granite from Kitchens Plus in June. We were told we had til August for them to hold it, and get it fabricated, through Fine Line Pacific. We called in July, left a voicemail, and got no return call. We called again, same thing. After finally calling kitchens plus to see what the hell was goin on and why we were being ignored when we’d just dropped a ton of money into this, they just transfered me to fine line. I then had to explain my issue AGAIN! After finally tlaking to a guy there, he said he wanted a drawing of my cabinets with the measurements. Which, I had lefto n is voicemail and already discussed with him. he said he’s get going and get it fabricated. 2 more weeks went by. My husband got a call that they needed measurements AGAIN!!!
Here it is pushing September, we still have NO granite in our bathroom and these people do NOT have their shit together. To my knowledge, ti’s still yet to be fabricated. I will NEVER use these slackers again! They’re horribly unprofession, rude, and don’t get their job done, and they have no return policy, you don’t use them, you’re out a thousand dollars.
The funny part is, my good friend is a contractor. I went through him to get a custom cabinetry, told him the measurements ONE time, he ordered the cabinet on time, a nd it was even done a WEEK early! Everything went smooth, no one use Fine LIne and go to Cascadia Homes instead!

Fine-​Line Pacific is a counter top installation company and their showroom is in an industrial park in Kent/​Renton. They are also the vendor that contracts with Costco.
They sent someone out to give us an estimate. She was very nice and explained the process and very promptly we received a quote back. Unfortunately, some of my follow questions have still been unanswered.
We checked out their showroom one weekend afternoon and they have beautiful slabs of granite, and samples of other man made materials on display. For a show room of rocks, it is pretty cool and modern.
Unfortunately, the lighting shows off the stone’s qualities very nicely, but it doesn’t compare to the lighting that we have in our kitchen. So, almost every sample we brought home looks entirely different in our kitchen.
They were definitely friendly, helpful and informative. We haven’t decided upon a granite vendor yet, so stay tuned for updates!
