Mediocre Sushi bland California Rolls. Even the Yakisoba Noodles were Top Ramen. Thought I’d give it a try based on reviews and photos. Greasy food. Restaurant is clean. Even the bathrooms are clean Will not be back. However food service was fast.

I’ve honestly never been so disappointed. Looked at all the reviews on this place and decided to try it out. I got 5 rolls and chicken teriyaki for almost 40 $ all together. Money so wasted, the quality of the food was awful. It must’ve been good 3 years ago because it’s not good now. 0⁄10 :(((

I wish I could give this place 0 stars! Overpriced and horrible quality food! I’m vegetarian and asked if the baked mushrooms had meat inside of them and the waitress said it didn’t have anything inside, all it had was a sauce poured over them. Well that was definitely not true because once I ate one I realized it had meat(imitation crab). Waitress never apologized for giving me incorrect information. 4 mushrooms for $ 4. Overpriced! The vegetarian fried rice did not taste good. Tasted burnt and was tasteless. I will never be back here again. My bill was $ 50 for nasty food. Once I went to pay and made a comment about how the food was too expensive the waitress felt the need to argue with me about it. This place need to lower their prices because their food and quality is not good and the restaurant isn’t even nice or fancy at all to be having these kind of prices.

We dropped in on Friday night about 7:30. There were two other couples and a take out customer. It’s a small place but in my opinion should not have been a big crowd for them. The food was very good and the prices were great. Service was slow for everyone except the take out customer. The hostess/cashier apologized repeatedly which was nice. I have to say I like this better than trappers because the quality is similar but the prices are much lower here. Also because trappers sushi chefs have an air of arrogance and in my opinion there’s no place for that in a restaurant.

Awesome sushi for a fair price. Love the variety of drinks as well. Would recommend this place for a date or group hangout :)

Monster? No I am afraid not. This place misses the mark completely with a disjointed menu which is confusing and missing so much. I ordered a tekka maki(tuna roll), sake maki(salmon toll) and a negihama(yellowtail maki) and I ended up with 9 tiny pieces of rolls(3 each) for $ 13. Nothing fresh, delicious, authentic or a value about this place. Nice staff/owner.

I’ve been a regular here for years because it’s so close to my house. The owner is a really sweet lady and the sushi is always on point. Very good prices too. Try their monster roll it is soooo good. Also their miso soup is my favorite out of most sushi restaurants.

Can I give 0 stars? This was the worse sushi place ever. I was deceived by the prices here on Unilocal and the food pictures. ALL A LIE! It might have been awesome in 2011, but it surely sucks in 2016! One scallop piece was 3.50 each therefore when I asked for 2 it was 7.00. Same goes for their seared salmon. So already 4 pieces equaled 14.00!!! That is freakin bogus!!! And the quality of the food is gross. It taste like feet and old fish that’s been sitting out in the sun. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Im seriously surprised by the positive comments. In addition, I got food poisoning. Two hours after eating the food, I was vomiting. Makes sense because the fish was definitely not fresh. I would recommend this place to people I hate. Luckily, I don’t hate anyone. But I definitely hate this place.

This place was cute! It’s on the smaller side, and I honestly drove by it so many times before I found it on Unilocal.Upon entering, the place was empty. I was greeted immediately and served with water and a menu. The prices are really reasonable! After placing my order, I kept waiting for a segue to ask for a beer, which thankfully eventually came. The sushi chef behind the counter was so friendly and nice. The food came out promptly, and the presentation was beautiful. I tried the fried oysters, monkey brains, and Las Vegas roll. Everything tasted fresh, and I loved the creativity behind the monkey brains dish, but there unfortunately wasn’t anything that was super memorable about the flavor of the food. Perhaps I caught them on an off day. In any case, I will be back based on the good service I received!

So I lived in LA for awhile and there are tons of chic sushi places. So living here it was extremely hard to find a DECENT sushi place! California monster sushi takes the cake! THELASVEGASROLL!!! Amazing. Tempura roll, kfc roll, salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, man they are good. The only reason why I gave them a 4 is because of the woman. Lol the older lady who I’m sure owns the place with her husband can be rude hahaha but the food is good. You just have to catch her on a good day. I caught her smiling once! It was amazing I do recommend this place!

Food is good! Price is Good! It’s clean! BUT expect the service to be a little off. There are a lot of misunderstandings between the owner and the customer but besides that, it’s a good set up

Best sushi restaurant I have tried so far. Their plating is beautiful, the product has a clean taste and the Las Vegas fried roll is so addicting you will be going back to seconds. The bbq eel rolls are also one of my favorites, but if you are looking for a larger portion then you must order the Boyfriend(12pc). You won’t be disappointed by the artful presentation. Some reviewers have commented on their service. While it can be less than par at times, don’t take for granted the quality of the food for the price you are receiving. You could easily pay more elsewhere! Plus, they are a locally owned place and that’s always better than buying into the corporate-run garbage eateries that are dime-a-dozen. Give them a try!

Their food was good, however the service was HORRIBLE !!. The lady was not nice, we did not get napkins, we were not offered chopsticks, we did not get our little soy sauce dishes until the lady realized we were using our plates for that. We asked for ginger and never received it. It is hard to fork over nearly $ 70 when you are treated rudely the entire meal. I do have to say, the Lady who was preparing the sushi was very nice. Unfortunately, she was not the one serving us. We will not be going back to this place. We would much rather go to trappers and pay a little more knowing the service will be great.

My husband and I can’t understand for the life of us why this place was empty, our server was great, both her and the sushi chef were super friendly to our ten month old. Prices are amazing, we’ve been searching for California prices here in WA and sadly our last day here we finally find a great hole in the wall place, very clean and tasty as well, wish we found this place sooner, if I can give it more stars I would.

The first few times I’ve eaten here were good a few years ago, but I’ve come back a couple times recently and I don’t think I’d come back. I used to work at a sushi restaurant in seattle, and I eat japanese food a lot and this place is not worth a sushi meal. The prices are not bad at all, so I guess you get what you pay for. The nigiri are decent size, but I don’t think it’s fresh. If you do choose nigiri here, the ika isn’t bad. The salmon, tuna, and any other fish tastes metallic, as if they were rinsed through tap water or something. The salmon had little to no fat on it. sad face. The rolls are decent, so if you come here, definitely get the crunchy rolls to mask the rice taste. The vinegar on the sushi rice was way too strong! I can actually taste the acidity in it. Complete turn off. I feel like I have to say something positive… so… their plating is nice. Take pictures while you’re here lol. I’m big on supporting local businesses, but I’m sad to see this place not improving over the years. I wish I had better things to say but this is not a place to go if you want quality sushi. From the fish to the rice(which is essentially sushi), not worth it.

This is what I get for feeling like non-traditional sushi! Should have went to Sushi Kuine. Kazu, I let you down! When I came into the parking lot, I immediately remembered I been to this place before, but before I say so, I have to walk in and take a look. So I entered and yes, it was the place I have been to a few years back. before my Unilocal days, so I wasn’t able to keep track. Zero customers and two ladies sitting down. bad sign. bad sign. I was immediately seated. and picked these 4 choices for rolls.(1) Volcano,(2) Caterpillar,(3) Vegas and(4) Cherry Blossom. The water tasted ok by the way.(the nasty kind of fountain water) Anyways. After waiting a little bit, the rolls came. The first phase that came out was the volcano, caterpillar and vegas rolls in one plate combined. The volcano was not spicy, as I would have expected it; but it tasted decent, melt in your mouth with some flavor. The vegas roll was probably one of their best rolls they had on their menu; it was deep fried and melt in your mouth; pretty decent. The caterpillar roll was nasty; the fish did not tasted fresh plus it had no flavor at all! You only tasted cucumber. No, No, No. The last phase that came out was my chef special roll, the cherry blossom; it was not good at all! The roll had flakes, wasabi sauce droppings on the edges for décor and a half cherry on top of the middle slice of sushi. It may look good, but don’t let it fool you! It was flavorless and tired like Ching He Huang would say. Also, the quality of the sushi was below average, as the rolls easily fall apart when you try to pick it up. You guys need to make it more sturdy. No good! The service was good. Once I checked out, my stomach reacted.

I don’t know what happened to this place. I guess it went south after the main chef went to their new location. We ordered our food and the owner/waitress seemed scattered. My boyfriend asked for water and that never came. The appetizers came after the sushi which is fine but the veggie tempura and shrimp shumai were thrown onto the same plate messily and the sauce wasn’t tempura sauce. My bf asked for some tempura sauce instead of the shoyu mix she scrapped together(shumai sauce plus shoyu I guess) she«didn’t know what sauce we were talking about.» Idk just ticked me off, either she really didn’t know what she was doing or she thought we’d be stupid. The service was just bad and the sushi wasn’t as good as it used to be. Had to wait for our check forever. Got up to the cashier after a while and paid since no one came back to check on how we were doing(not like they were busy). Oh and again. Yeah no water.
