Upholstery Restoration & Select Fabrics

Last night I needed a seat cushion repair ASAP. It was December 16^th with company coming on the 20^th — yikes!
On a friend’s recommendation, I tried these fellows out, awesome experience all around! Nice guys, very reasonable prices AND when they heard I had a Christmas time crunch they finished the job the same day.

We picked up our repaired and re-​upholstered Victorian settee last week, I was blown away by the craftsmanship, beautiful work!
We’ve become regulars at this shop because of the great service and reasonable prices. Guess this is just one of the reasons that they’ve been in business for 26 years and still going strong. We’ll be back…

Both a friend and I had slipcovers made for sofas and they were very poorly done. The seams were not finished, so upon washing, it fell apart. I have to re-​do the entire sofa to a cost of a couple of thousand in fabric and labor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

These are nice people who generally do good work. While their prices are fair, they are not cheap– expect all sorts of add-​ons to your original quote– pick-​up and delivery, fabric treatments, tacks on the upholstery… often not until they have picked up the furniture, have it in their shop and have «looked at it». To avoid this, insist on a written in-​home estimate before committing. Don’t send a photo and get an e mail quote and expect it to hold.
While their work is good, they are also frustratingly slow. This would be fine, but work generally tends to take way longer than the promised due dates. I would like it better if they just quoted a realistic finish date, rather than appeasing me with predictions that later turn out to untrue. Admittedly I’m writing this angry; having had my sofa for 5 weeks, I’ve been told they’re starting it today.
As I said, they’re nice, but I find the unpredictability detracts from the entire transaction and I will probably shop my next upholstery job around.
