I came here to get my a frame for my wife’s diploma. I found a guy back in the frame area named Dustin who was extremely helpful. He measured it and showed me the many options for the size I needed. Once I picked out a frame he took it over to the frame counter where I paid for it, and he put it in the frame. My only complaint is that it did take a while to get any help. There were employees walking around but I had to go find the one that eventually helped me. Once I did get the help it was great!

Not as advertised. Signs posted around store indicate a super-holiday sale. Sadly, although signs say«storewide» and all red– and blue-tagged merchandise, it was not honored even though it was during the dates listed on the sign. Manager said that’s just how corporate does some things. Guess my weekly visits will now go to competing craft and hobby shops who honor their published sales.

This is definitely not my favorite craft store in the area. There are things I really like about this place, but the customer service is certainly lacking. Just the other day when I was in, the cashier acted like I was burdening her because something didn’t ring up on sale, as marked on the shelf. Granted, they were busy, but it wasn’t my fault it wasn’t priced properly and I sure didn’t want it at full price. Everything is SUPER marked up at regular price. Unless it’s on sale, it’s not worth buying(check Hobby Lobby or JoAnn’s). They have a nice selection of scrapbooking supplies, including a nice supply of Martha Stewart stuff(which sadly is my personal favorite due to their cute designs and good quality). I have also bought acrylic paints and canvas here, which occasionally go half off. Lots of modeling clay and baking stuff. Fake flowers, wedding invitations/favors/guest books, etc. I believe they do offer classes on cake decorating, scrapbooking, etc. I think my favorite part about this store is that they offer 15% off to teachers on anything and everything. You just show your teacher ID. Teachers really do spend a lot of money out of their own pockets on their students, so I appreciate Michael’s acknowledging that. My second favorite part about this store is the iPhone App. You can get coupons on the App(for ex: 50% off one regular priced item), and they just scan the bar code on your phone screen. Pretty nifty. The parking lot can be a disaster sometimes. The store is also a little disastrous when busy because the aisles are narrow.

Perhaps it isn’t fair to rate Michael’s as an art store, but since my primary interests are in painting and some types of sculpture, that is what I tend to step foot in here looking for. Their paint selection is decent if not great, but their selection of canvas and paper types is pretty shallow. No hot press watercolor paper at ALL? They fall down in a lot of other areas for an art store. As a craft store, this place seems like it could be your dream store. But if you came in looking for anything related to sculpture or painting — well, you’ll find a great selection of plastic flowers and things that smell awful, but find it lacking. Find someone that gets the paper and clip the 50% off coupon they seem to run every week and it is a good spot to pick up some basic supplies.

This is always the first place I stop when I’m in a crafty mood. They have just about any scrapbooking tool you need and a good selection of baking tools and toppings. They also have an aisle dedicated to weddings/bridal showers/baby showers. The only downside to offering a lot is that it always feels crowded in there due to the narrow aisles.

This is one of those chain arts/crafts stores. I was here looking for frames. Was pleasantly surprised by their selection of pre-made frames. They also had some«make your own» frame kits. And finally, they also had a service where you can get frames made for you. I bought some poster frames, but I may want to try out their services.
