We came at the end of the day(around 4PM) on Sunday so the shelves were fairly barren — but my 11 year old and I shared a HUGE Mexican cookie/cake and a churro(delicious). Lady helping spoke little English but had a bright smile. Inexpensive. Wish they offered a place to sit and eat,(Philter — a café is next door). Very welcome treats! CASHONLY.

A decent Spanish bakery in a great town. Everything here is very inexpensive and good. Décor is boring, very bland, not appealing. Their selection isn’t the greatest. Their elephant ear cookie was good. Their almond pastries were pretty good, but a bit bland.

I had a delicious, gigantic cocada for just 75 cents. I chose it randomly and searched the internet when I got home to find out what it was. I’d love to have it again some time! There was a huge selection and plenty of each item in stock. I would have bought more if I knew what any of it was. Even if it’s in Spanish, please label the food!

This place is great. It sell Mexican baked goods, at very reasonable prices I might add. It has a very good selection, and the stuff here is not too sweet, contrasting sharply with a lot of the junk available in mainstream American bakeries and stores. There is also a great section in the back that has some random offerings, including spices and herbs – also very reasonably priced. This place is a huge asset to the borough of Kennett Square. My only complaint is that I wish they had more of a café atmosphere. It’s a very large storefront and I don’t think it’s being used very intelligently. The bakery cases could easily be moved around to make room for 4 or more tables, maybe some sofas around the edge. It looks like a lot of the back of the room isn’t really being used either. I was a bit annoyed because I was in Kennett square late on a Sunday and wanted to find a café or coffee shop to hang out in, and there really wasn’t anything open. I begrudgingly had to go outside of town, in my car, and go to a Starbucks, and I don’t think I should have had to make this choice. This is a vacant niche that this bakery could jump to fill. If they have any business sense whatsoever, they’ll do it.
