I was surprised that this place was so empty during lunch despite the solid review and food. It’s a nice little(and very clean) place tucked away from traffic of Chastain Rd. The menu is simple with excellent options and great value from empanadas, Mufungo(traditional Dominican dish), and sandwiches. I had chimi spiced Dominican burger with cripsy fries. The sandwich was enough for two if you cut through the light cuban bread. It was slightly overdone for my liking, but had a great taste. The food took longer than I would have liked, however I did not complain as it was made from scratch. I hope this place gets a website or starts advertising since it’s a nice hidden gem with good service, quality food and reasonable prices.

Great place and awesome customer service. My husband and I discovered this place a few months ago, and we have probably been back 5 times. The Cuban and the steak sandwich are amazing. Their special«Vida sauce» is like crack, so addicting! We will definitely be back especially since they serve alcohol now. My husband is Puerto Rican and his family agrees this is just like eating in San Juan. Go treat yourselves!

This place is out of this world! My parents and I found it today on Unilocal. The great reviews made us to give it a try and the fantastic food and service will bring us back! The people and their spirit of service is as nice and welcoming as it comes. For a truly exceptional dining experience with a total Caribbean flair, you must try this place.

Very Good spanish caribbean food! Dominican style homemade recipes with Puerto Rican and Cuban plates added to the menu. Small family owned, they bring to Kennesaw area original tastes of home and the warmth of the Caribbean. The restaurant have simple décor, but its very clean and illuminated, the service was prompt and friendly and the food was brought to us well presented. Definitely will repeat anytime, well worth my money and time.

If I am craving for Carribean food, this is the place you should be especially when there aren’t that many options for authentic Carribean food. Family owned, small restaurant that care about each customer like their family, but most importantly, the food is sooo good I wanna eat everyday. Recommend their house steak, seafood with rice and plantains.

If you love Caribbean food you have to try Vida!!! The food was very reasonably priced and the customer service was top notch. I live in Canton Ga and will continue to drive to Kennesaw just to eat at Vida.

Amazing service. The food is absolutely tasteful. Fresh ingredients. Family owned place that deserves to be a regular place to eat. The«cortadito» accompanied with the«tres leches» is the best way to finish lunch or dinner.

They are trying — the server was friendly and helpful. However, they have communication and speed issues. For example, we ordered empanadas as part of an appetizer combo. The server asked what filling we wanted, and we said beef. One came out with beef and one with ham and cheese. The cook(manager?) came out later to ask how everything is. When I mentioned that we ordered beef empanadas, she said she always makes one ham and cheese. That would be good to know ahead of time — we would not have ordered them, in that case. It took at least 30 minutes to bring out the food — a good long while for a few deep fried appetizers and two sandwiches. The Cuban sandwich was different than the usual, using shredded pork with some sort of sauce, instead of the usual sliced, roasted pork. The ingredients were good quality — pressed and toasted Cuban bread, etc, but the sandwich was dripping with juices and fat from the pork and cheese. My wife had the Dominican Chimi, a cousin of the hamburger. She said that it was OK, nothing special. The fries were crispy and hot, apparently cooked to order — they deserve credit for that. I may give them another try after they’ve had a chance to work out the initial issues. I’ll have to go on my own, though. My wife isn’t interested in a return visit.

Went Back again today to make sure it was a good as I thought it was. While I was not as surprised at the taste and quality of food, it was extremely good. I had the Dominican Flag beef entrée. Most Excellent. a Dominican take on beef stew… Looking forward to my next visit. think I will try the Jerk Chicken. :)

This restaurant is located in Kennesaw, Ga, on Cobb Pky, just south of the Sonic Drive In Restaurant. I have been there twice(5÷17÷15 and 5÷19÷15) for lunch. It was fine, both food and service! The place only opened this past Sat. I hope they last and make a go of it. Good service. You can find additional info at: Note: This replaced the Pizza ‘N Beyond restaurant where I ate for the 16 months they were opened, the configuration is identical, just the food and staff have changed. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – UPDATE — SUNDAY, JUNE7, 2015 My 3rd visit to Vida was today(June 7th) and again I was pleased with both the food and service. The restaurant is bright and airy and I expect that they are going to make a go of the place, even if it is the 5th restaurant in this unit. I had the Dominican Chimi, which is as close to a ‘burger and fries’ as they have here.
