I should have noted the puddle of water in my plate once I entered as an omen. The entire place was chaotic. The food, staff and even patrons. Everyone was acting is if the food was going to disappear soon. There is no meat to be seen and when you are among the most expensive«buffets» I would expect maybe one meat choice. The Alfredo, chili, tortilla soup and Mac and cheese ALL tasted… Watered down? There was no flavor to be had short of the salt and pepper that I had added to it. I honestly felt bad about how much food I was wasting by trying to find a single edible dish so I just went back to get more salad so I could actually leave feeling somewhat satiated. I think this place is entirely over priced for over rated food. I doubt I will revisit to see if it was simply the chefs.

I’ve been coming here for about 6 yrs. This location is the most consistent in Atlanta. I ALWAYS use a coupon. The salad bar is pretty fresh, dressings are good. My favorites were the prepared salads amd the end of the bar. Pineapple Cole slaw was my fav but I haven’t seen it in a long time. I like the soups and pizza bread. Strawberry Lemonade is the best ever! Staff can be limited at times and unbussed tables, but they are friendly and will get to it or you can politely ask if you don’t want to look at it across from you while you are eating. I always use a coupon and would not eat here without it. It is a bit pricey and has increased over the years(obviously) but a solid deal.

I am very disappointed with y’all tonight. I have been coming here since you opened and for the first time… Low on dressing, short staffed, dirty tables and no muffins. This is not what I am accustomed to. Hope it improves by my next visit cause I want to give you a better rating.

Tried Sweet Tomatoes for the 1st time today and we weren’t impressed. Tons of people. They were out of a lot of the items and they seemed to sit empty for quite awhile before being filled. Only 1 soda machine. Didn’t seem super clean. We much prefer Jason’s deli. Doubt we go back. Did nothing for us.

First time at Sweet Tomatoes. Stopped in for lunch with my dad. The restaurant was very clean. Lots of items on the salad bar also had a lot of soups and bread. They have soft serve ice cream and a small desert bar.

The salad bar is ordinary with nothing special. The total items for salad toppings were below standard. This is a disappointment. I found it hard to comprehend thay standard salad bar items were not available such as egg. The soup bar was ok. It appears they attempt to be creative with items, however results in uninteresting recipes. By the way, first time i have ever seen black olives added to macaroni and cheese. My 6 yard old grandson would not even try it.

I’m going to start by saying the first few times I ate at this location, I loved it. Besides all the salad fixings they had(HAD) one of the best muffins I have ever tasted… it was a bran with applesauce center which doesn’t sound like a big food experience, but it was. No idea why they quit making them. We gave it another try yesterday afternoon and my biggest takeaway was that I probably won’t go back. The salad stuff was still good… if you feel like paying $ 12 for a salad with watery dressing… add a soda and it’s over $ 14. Pasta and potatoes were bland to the point of nothingness. Soup tasted like canned. I’ve had way better muffins from Sam’s club. As someone else said, the ice cream bar isn’t much. one in our group had ice cream and the caramel sauce looked like it had been watered down. it seriously had that consistency. I’m going to make a copy of my check and email it to their corporate offices because I had no idea what was going on with the bill… if the woman running the cash register knew what she was doing, if there’s a scam going on or what… I’ll be checking my bank card activity. It went like this 3 adult dinners at $ 11.69 each, 2 fountain beverages at $ 2.49 each. sub total $ 40.05.then she swiped a card that showed up on my bill as a $ 30 gift card. making the subtotal $ 66.04…after that it shows two Igift credits. We were in a hurry and didn’t see this until we got home but looks like something shady to me.

Well, the salads are fresh but my favorite go-to are the soups and breads. First off, you don’t want the diet ranch dressing as it is made with something resembling mucus… slimy-ish. If you combine the roasted garlic and the real ranch dressing you get a pretty good dressing for your salad. Soups… they’ve changed the recipe for the shrimp bisque so it is more like a creamy veg. soup with shrimps in it… kinda ok. The lime soup is made with hominy… not so good. The mushroom soup is great so far and I don’t eat the chili because I didn’t go to sweet tomaoes to eat chili. My very fav. bread was the bran muffin. They were to die for but now… they don’t serve those at all. More’s the pity. Now they have lemon muffins and if you are not careful the lemon candy on top will knock out your teeth. The blueberry muffins are nice. Can’t comment on chocolate«muffins»(like whoever heard of a chocolate muffin?) or the corn bread. Focaccia is impoverished — ate a piece of the garlic cheese the other day and it was tasteless. I wouldn’t touch the pasta dishes. watered down mac and cheese and the other pastas have become bland and lack-luster. Overall, while I eat there at least once a week… I need the wholesome salad and I can pick the chicken out of the chicken noodle soup when there aren’t so many overcooked noodles you can’t find the chicken. I also think the place is expensive… $ 11+ for all you can eat.

Its too expensive for what you get and like most sweet tomatoes, the food is fairly dry and tasteless. Its okay if you like their salad bar, which is pretty great, or their ice cream. I go sometimes after a swim meet just to fill myself up, even though it isn’t the greatest food. Staff at this location is pretty great though

Been to this location many times & the food is always excellent! My only problem is… the employees tend to eat straight from the bar while working. I’ve seen this on several occasions(today included). Again, I love this place but buffet etiquette is assumed with the general public but kind of mandatory with food service workers. Maybe mgmt or higher could address this issue.

I love eating here because the goodies always good and fresh. The breads are always hot and tasty! BUT I am worried about one complaint I have and I’m not sure if it’s me or the restaurant. Every time I eat here I get an upset stomach. I make spinach salad at home and never have an issue but every single time I am done eating here I am right in the bathroom. If anyone else has this problem let me know. Not sure if the plates are not getting cleaned properly or not or if it’s me… Other than that I love Sweet Tomatoes!

Soups and salads are the name of the game at this buffet which make it a healthier option for lunch than most of chain restaurants in the area. The staff was very efficient at bussing the tables and all of the toppings for the salad looked fresh. I liked that they offered several different types of lettuce and spinach as well as several different soups and salads, but at the end of the day this place is just a buffet which offers a good change up for lunch once in a while.

Great place for large crowds. Buffet-style restaurant that has a great salad bar with everything you can think of! They have tons of soups. My favorite is the Chicken and Rice. It’s a little pricey for what you get.

I would have to update my review from last time. The pasta and bakery items were awesome this time. Everything else was pretty much the same as the last visit. No complaints this time. Only negative is so many people in the place, it is hazardous to walk with plates of food because people are everywhere and not looking to see if they might be in your way or might knock the food out of your hands. The food including the soups, salads, fruits, desserts were all quite delicious! The puzzling thing about the clientele was how many were extremely overweight. I guess they are piling on the dressing and eating the cream soups and hitting the desserts!

Barrett parkway has many options to done but sweet tomatoes has plenty of fresh healthy options. It is my favorite lunch destination and I use a coupon on my phone every time I go thanks to my email sign up.

Sweet Tomatoes is a salad, soup, bread, and pasta buffet restaurant. It’s a chain with two locations in metro Atlanta:(1) this one on busy Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw near I-75 and(2) the Perimeter location, near I-285 and GA400, next to Costco. Sweet Tomatoes is known as Souplantation in California. For a buffet, this place isn’t bad. It’s certainly a healthy option with many low-fat, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. The restaurant is big, from the multi-line buffet and its numerous options to the dining area with plentiful tables and seating. At peak times, it gets very busy and sometimes even chaotic. Families like to dine here, in part because of the kid-friendly options. The buffet area can get messy at times and not all tables are cleared immediately. At lunchtime, the buffet is $ 8.99 during weekdays and $ 9.29 during weekends. At dinner, the buffet is $ 10.69. I think these prices are reasonable. While the buffet consists mostly of low-cost vegetables, you’re paying for the freshness and wide selection. The veggies are prepared fresh daily. Check out Sweet Tomatoes’ web site, Facebook page, and Twitter feed for specials. Special discount coupons are often available. The salad bar consists of do-it-yourself salads and pre-made salads. There is a large variety of salad toppings to choose from, one of the biggest I’ve seen for any salad bar. The greens are typically nice and crisp and the other veggies(e.g. tomatoes) non-tart and ripe. One of the popular pre-made salads is «Joan’s Broccoli Madness» consisting of broccoli, red onion, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and cashews. It’s good. The Caesar Asiago salad is decent too. As much as I love salads and greens, the soups might be my favorite part about Sweet Tomatoes. They’re warm, hearty, and tasty(and certainly not as healthy as the salads). I prefer the cauliflower & cheese soup and the chicken noodle soup. The cauliflower & cheese soup is rich and creamy. The chicken noodle soup features thick chunks of chicken — probably the most meat you’ll find in any entrée here. I’m not a big fan of the breads and pastas because they tend to be a bit boring and bland. They serve focaccia flatbread, which is probably one of the better seasoned and flavorful breads. The cornbread is okay too. The kid-magnet dessert bar is sub-par. Items you can generally find there include cakes, cookies, muffins, and puddings… and sticky tongs. Service is satisfactory and the manager I encountered was friendly.

Great selection for the price, the veggies were all very fresh and had a wide variety. The sourdough bread and corn bread was very good. They tastiest soup was the clam chowder in my opinion. Will definitely stop In again when I’m in town.

I’ve been living in the after holiday haze for 2 weeks now and am now blessed with a cold. Considering I’ve been on an all soup diet for 14 days I found it fitting to go to Sweet Tomatoes. I wanted to hide in a booth, eat several bowls of soup and binge on their warm blueberry muffins. Little did I know, I could have gone to a homeless soup kitchen and would have been more satisfied. You walk in the door and you’re greeted by a trough of food. The football field salad bar with so many options and toppings tends to confuse me. WTF are peas doing up here? Who invited dry, spiral pasta to the line? And who’s idea was it to push beets? Where’s the bacon? Where’s the mayo and or olive oil pasta and vegetable salads? Why does the 3 foot long salad bar at Ruby Tuesday make this one it’s bitch?! I have a cold so repeat trips anywhere in this monstrosity is exhausting so I grabbed a bottle water as my beverage and I lined up to the cashier. «2.39» chimed the cash register boy with his hand out. I quickly glanced at the bottle looking for the Fiji label but all I saw was a giant tomato and I put it right back in to the ice. Unless you’re serving Michael Jackson’s sweat, bottled water should not cost more than the refillable soft drink option. Oh, and please, ST, install another drink island. The Hover round crowd takes up too much room and time trying to figure out how the coke options come of the dispenser. Overall, the soup options were watery and lacked flavor, the blueberry muffins had 1 – 2 blueberries in them and the frozen yogurt had fake sweetener in it which made it inedible. Please bring back this place to what it once was, a place where I was proud to stuff muffins in my purse and dodge management on the way out.
