I came to this location of Stone Summit after a very disappointing experience at the one in DeKalb County off I-85. The staff and gym are organized, helpful, and extremely professional. During my first visit, I took the belay class with my partner and 12-year old nephew. Having done a belay class before, I thought the instructor Austin’s teaching technique was thorough and clear. Our nephew was a bit nervous about both climbing and belaying, and Austin’s presentation made him much more comfortable trying both. After the class, we climbed for about an hour and everyone had a good time. Would definitely recommend checking out this gym if you’re interested in climbing.

I’ve been to the other location, but it’s a little too far and too crowded for me. This one is perfect. There are different climbing options, beginner to advanced so whatever your speed is you will feel really comfortable here. Wasn’t too crowded, which I was concerned about with it being so close to ksu. It’s really spread out and I love that they offer a weights room with treadmills. Will definitely return and consider purchasing a membership.

The staff at Stone Summit are knowledgeable, passionate and encouraging. The place has everything a person who’s interested in getting started or a season vet needs. I’m new relatively new to this sport, its challenging and fun. The people who participate are very encouraging and just plain cool. I’d highly recommend this place to everyone!

Let me preface this by saying I didn’t actually climb here. Essentially, I was a third-wheel den mother to a bromantic date for my boyfriend and his friend. Stone Summit is a great facility. You can’t help but marvel at the amount of space and height in this facility. They’re fairly organized with the convenient cubbies for people to store their belongings, however it’s still not entirely secure. I held on to my boyfriend and his friend’s wallets for them in my purse as I walked around. Nevertheless, I’m impressed. This place is like a gym. They have treadmills on the top floor, so if you’re really into climbing, bouldering but still want a treadmill, you might want to get a membership here instead of a typical monthly gym which has machines and weights. There is a separate area which has auto-belay setup, so you can independently climb up without someone having to help you. You can see more kids using this section than others. In fact, I don’t think there were that many children here as I think this might be more for teens and older. There’s definitely some kind of «climbing» culture here with everyone wearing their harnesses and bags of chalk. The atmosphere can feel a little«douchey» with guys being macho. Might be a bit on the expensive side, but I hear this facility is much nicer than Atlanta Rocks.

Website did not let us know that the group of 15 – 16 year olds could only climb in room which was not very big without being certified. Wasn’t really worth the all day pass after all because they were bored after about 2 hours.

I have had some of the best experiences rock climbing at Stone Summit! I have climbed at MANY other gyms, and Summit is by far my favorite. The staff is super helpful and nice, and the climbing is just challenging enough! If you are a beginner and aren’t belay certified, they give you the opportunity to learn. You must learn to tie in as the climber and as the belayer. It took me about 15 minutes to learn my first time — it’s not that hard. I definitely recommend Summit to all climbers — novice and advanced!

Awesome gym with countless cool and really fun routes for beginners to experts. Great place to train with their campus boards and training walls.
