Macy’s Furniture Gallery

I was disappointed with the furniture.
Being Macy’s, I assumed the quality of furniture would be better than most places. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been going to the Macy’s furniture gallery in Northpoint (Alpharetta) checking out styles and comfort level of sofas and chairs. Someone told me about the clearance section at the Macy’s furniture gallery in Kennesaw so I made the trek there.
The clearance section was eye-​opening. On the majority of the broken pieces, you could tell many items were made of pressed board and super cheap low quality materials. It was shocking and no better than Rooms To Go furniture.
On a positive note, it’s a huge showroom. The furniture looks nice and is trendy and stylish. It’s unfortunate that pieces are not built to last.

SMART
It was very smart of Macy’s to put their furniture gallery in the mall where it is more accessible. Had it not been in the mall, I would not have known of its existence. The gallery is very open and spacious. I happened to be looking at leather living-​room sets and there were plenty of options: casual, formal, theater seating etc. There was also a great selection of bedding but nothing special.
Why is it so difficult to find a mule chest? When we were looking for furniture years ago, we were really impressed with the Martha Stewart Collection. I did not notice this collection today but I do recall that the furniture was quality and it had unique pieces.
Don’t forget to check out the huge selection of quality wool rugs. When looking at these rugs, make sure that they are bordered and reinforced on the back for maximum protection against fraying or damage. The rugs are varied and beautiful and help to anchor your space.
The mattress department consisted of only the high-​end Tempur-​pedic mattresses, so unless this is what your are looking for, keep it moving.
The employee, Michael was visible and available but allowed me to browse at my leisure and it was a nice visit.

Perspective: Home Furniture — NEW and CLEARANCE
I Love this place! They have some really nice home furniture at a fair price.
There are 2 floors, 1 floor is brand-​spanking new furniture, and 1 floor is clearance furniture. They have rugs, too.
Definitely add this location to your list when looking for furniture. The sales people are NOT harassing. Really a pleasant experience and the prices are good.
